antibiotics can cause--sm
a yeast infection because: they kill all the *good bacteria* a body needs to fend off such infections, as well as the *bad* bacteria. That is what antibiotics CAN or MAY cause yeast infections.

Fabric softeners CAN or MAY contribute to yeast infections because: They put a coating of a wax-type material on your clothes to reduce static and to make them feel softer. This coating on your clothes, particularly women's undies, reduces the body's ability to *breathe*. Moist, warm places which cannot be relieved by oxygen are good breeding grounds for these types of infections. Therefore, fabric softeners have been linked to yeast and vaginal infections.
antibiotics . . .
I heard a report that we are building up resistance to antibiotics due to extensive amounts given to livestock, thus it is in our meat and dairy.
Best to avoid sun if on any antibiotics

That's possible, but I actually very rarely take antibiotics

This is an exception - I have been running a low-grade fever off and on this entire time, so I know something is going on, whether it's just inflammation or an infection.

In talking to the doc on this last visit, we figured out that my problem is mainly an allergy to molds. We had an extremely wet late spring/early summer (it broke previous records for number of straight days of rain) and my symptoms began shortly afterward. I have noticed that many times my symptoms begin the day after it rains.

I feel better today, for the first time in a LONG time. I don't know if it is due to the fact that I took the last of the antibiotic yesterday, or that I spent almost all day yesterday in bed resting.

I am going to see about getting tested for allergies, including an allergy to mold. I've done a bit of netsurfing and there are treatments for that, but they aren't effective for everyone. After what I've been through the past two months, though, I am certainly willing to give it a try!

I talk to the doctor about the possibility of a fungal infection, also. Is there a test for it? (I am a radiology MT, don't know as much about the clinical side)

I am lactose intolerant so I haven't drunk milk in years, but I do eat ice cream and cheese and foods with milk-based sauces. I probably should try to avoid those when I'm having a sinus flare-up.

Thanks for your suggestion. I hadn't thought of the possibility of a fungus. I will certainly investigate it.

I meant antibiotics given for second phase
Does that make sense? Some can be hospitalized because of developing pneumonia from the flu and are given antibiotics to treat pneumonia, but antibiotics are only good for bacterial pneumonia, not viral pneumonia.
Is there a cure for shyness.

I am 32 years old.  When I was in grade school I was usually a loner.  Not that I wanted to be just that I was very very shy.  I was always afraid to go to the more popular kids for fear of being made fun of.  I never tried to be popular because I thought no matter what I did it was uncool.  I would get so embarrassed when attention was turned to me whether it be bad or good attention I never wanted to be the center of it. I would always turn bright red and want to hide.

I have come out of it a lot.  I am still shy though.  I am afraid to approach the doctors at the hospital I work or any of the big wigs.  My co-workers will stop them in the hallway and say "hay doc, whats up, blah blah blah" but it takes an effort for me to say "hi"  I just feel like I am missing out on life for being shy.  I know I missed out on childhood. The number of boyfriends I had I can count on my one hand.  As far as regular friends there is only one or two at a time.  They all seem to come and go.  At the moment I don't believe there is anyone I can call up right now and just talk to. Anyone have any words of encouragement.  Any good books to read on this subject.

My headache cure
I found that, when I totally quit eating foods high in tyramine, my headaches went away.  Interestingly, this is the same diet recommended for patients who take MAO inhibitor antidepressants.  High tyramine foods include red wine, soy, aged cheese, possibly chicken and turkey, sour cream, and others.
Cure for In-Law Problems

Marry a man with dead parents!  His father died years before we met and his mother died right after we started dating.  Poof!  Problem taken care of.  Now before you all start flaming me, I am just kidding.  But I do realize how lucky I am to not have to deal with a MIL.  He has brothers who have children and grandchildren, so they spend Christmas Day with their families.  We all get together on Christmas Eve.  On Christmas Day we go to my family's.  One of my sisters has the MIL from He$$ and boy does she wish she was in my place!

the cure for boredom is work
I personally think that this trend will end because people will have less leisure time and less money, and you need both to screw around.
In our family that is called "Present Fever" and there is no cure.
The only thing that has been successful for us so far are distraction tactics that keep them busy away from the tree and, in dire situations away from the house.

We also use empty "decoy" boxes under the tree (this started years ago when the little ones and the puppy would unwrap random gifts at random times), and we tell everyone they are getting socks and underwear, and that is all. Then we put there actual gifts under the tree on Christmas Eve.

My brothers and I all had present fever, but I cannot remember what our mother did to keep from being driven bonkers. I will have to ask and get back to you.
