Me too!

I am the only person I even know with a job these days.  My ex is just like yours - living like a pig in hades and partying all day every day.  The majority of my family and friends are either on SS disability for iffy reasons, or leaching off someone else with a job.  They are incredulous that I can't just drop my job and travel whenever I want like they do.  They despise me if I buy something nice, they rejoice if I have financial problems, but their party never ends, their responsibility never begins.  I've been waiting all my life to see their lifestyle catch up with them - but it never does.  I've also been waiting for the rewards of all my hard work - and reckon I'll still be working the day I die.

For all the people that claim the partying will take its physical toll, I want to know which kills quicker - a lifetime of drinking and drugs, or the gut-wrenching stress of fighting an uphill battle to remain employed and keep the lights on?!?!  I bet they'll outlive me - and their quality of happy, worry free life is in stark contrast to the perfection and constant flexing this industry demands.

They appear to live as well as I do with no effort whatsoever, and it makes me look and feel like a chump.  The work ethic they drilled into me in my youth is a joke these days - nobody else has the slightest concern about tomorrow, but I can't stop worrying and let my own life spin out of control - there will be nobody to help ME when I fall, I won't qualify for the lifelong programs everyone else have enjoyed.  The question is, when our generation dies in harness and is no longer pulling the party wagon with our payroll taxes, WHO exactly will fund all the social programs that gives everyone else a carefree existence?
