I'm afraid to try to guess how much that foot is going to grow before she gets to high school!    She's also 2 heads taller than the kids in her class.

I think the 14-year-old girl from
Maryland is just wonderful. Such poise, beauty and a great voice. I also like the cowboy with the rope routine!
Okay, here's a question for you from a 13 year old girl (sm)
My roommate's 13 yo daughter came and asked me this morning if I'd ever heard of this.  A friend of her's (a girl) told her that she read in a health book that if a boy drinks too much Gatorade/7-UP/Mountain Dew, that they can't make babies.  Now me, being 55 years of age, just about died laughing quietly because I find that hard to believe, but I promised I'd put the question out here.  Hey, it's been a long time since I read a health book, who knows??? do you???  Could this be true?  I told her I'd check it out.  Well, are they putting something in these drinks that causes this?  TIA.
Any thoughts of a 28-year-old girl and 54 yr old

My 8-year-old girl loves Webkinz!
I like to help her decorate her room and make smoothies/sandwiches for her chihuahua. It's really fun. We have two other girls we know that are on her friends list. You can send little gifts and messages. It's safe too.
my 16-year-old girl wanted to give it up, so I did too.

survey on sixteen year old girl curfews - sm
Just taking a survey from all you parents of 16 yo girls out there...what is your curfew for your teen? Do you let her go out during the school week? If so, how often and what time does she need to be back? What about Friday and Saturday nights? Thanks for participating.
14-year-old girl faces pornography charge

There's got to be a better way of stopping this than possibly having her register as a sex offender at 14.

CLIFTON — A 14-year-old girl faces child pornography charges after she allegedly posted nearly 30 nude pictures of herself on a social networking site, authorities said.

Detectives with the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department’s Internet Crimes Unit arrested the teen Tuesday. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children contacted sheriff’s detectives about someone posting photos of an underage nude girl on a MySpace profile. The center, which monitors social networking sites for illegal images of children, contacted county detectives through the State Police’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, said Bill Maer, the sheriff’s department spokesman.

Following a month-long investigation, detectives discovered that the person posting the pictures was the same person featured in them — the 14-year-old girl. Anyone who was “friends” with the girl through MySpace or knew her full name could have accessed the photos.

The teen was charged with one count of possession of child pornography and one count of distribution of child pornography. She was released into her mother’s custody, Maer said.

The teen reportedly told police she posted the pictures into a photo album for her boyfriend’s enjoyment. More arrests may be forthcoming, Maer said. Maer said that North Jersey parents should make sure they are aware of their children’s activities on the Internet.

12-year old girl forced to take pregnancy test due to school rumor

NEVADA CITY, Calif. -- A 12-year-old girl was forced to take a pregnancy test at school in Nevada City, a lawsuit filed in Nevada County Superior Court alleges.

The Pacific Justice Institute, which is representing the girl, said in a news release that Steve Davis, a counselor at Seven Hills Middle School, pulled the girl out of class.

KCRA 3 has decided not to name the girl out of protection for her privacy.

Davis heard rumors that she was pregnant and wanted to know if it was true, the release said.

Though she denied it and told Davis a classmate had spread rumors about her in the past, the counselor got a pregnancy test from the school nurse and told the 12-year-old to give a urine sample, the Pacific Justice Institute said.

The pregnancy test was negative.

According to the news release, the girl was embarrassed and humiliated, and her parents were angry when they found out.

They worked with the Pacific Justice Institute to get an apology from the Nevada City School District, but didn't receive one.

The lawsuit, filed Oct. 29, 2008, seeks damages for violation of the girl's right to privacy and emotional distress.

"There is no merit in the claim," Superintendent Roger Steel said. He directed further questions to the district's attorney.

Reached at home Monday night, Davis said he had no comment on the lawsuit.

oh and YOU have walked in her shoe(s)????....

shoe outlets
Best places to get screaming deals on great shoes:

joes is definitely athletic only. STP is more athletic/hiking but not always -- they get overstocks from lots of places.

I have always had pretty flat feet. I got some Asolo low hikers from STP that are incredible. Retail was around $130, but by the time I got their discount plus my special coupon plus this that & the other thing and free shipping, I think I paid around 60 bucks, & my feet have never felt this good. I got some nice Birkenstock sandals recently for around half price, too.

Waiting for the other shoe to drop.

The Aggressive Black Shoe for Spring
The description tickled me!
Well, if the shoe fits....her mothering *skills* or lack of
were atrocious. The fact she even had another baby and it was born methadone addicted is atrocious. The way she treated that old man, first off just marrying an 87-year-old crippled man because he was a billionaire(you think if he worked at McDonald's she'd have fallen IN LOVE with him?), and then holding a tape recorder up to him while exposing her breasts to get him to say "I want you to have half my money when I die" was atrocious, and how she then without any embarrassment at all fought HIS BLOOD FAMILY for his money after he was dead was atrocious. Meanwhile she was screwing around with other guys in the old man's bed while he was in the hosital! She was pure white trash and would do anything for money and recognition, so like I said if the shoe fits.... I certainly hope not but would NEVER doubt anything when it comes to that woman. Feel bad that she died but I'm no hypocrite and so I don't change my way of thinking just because someone tragically died, as so many others do......
I'm wondering if maybe paste shoe polish with a layer

PJ wearing

How many of us stay in our PJs all day?

Ive been at home now for about 5 or 6 years - I cannot seem to break this bad habit of mine!!  I think it is beginning to wear on me.  I miss "having to" buy new clothes and looking nice everyday...now, I cannot seem to find a "good" reason to get fixed up for the day home by myself!!!

Anyone else go through this!!!

PJ Wearing!

Almost every day unless I have an appointment of some type!  No makeup and hair in a ponytail!  It does feel good, though, I have to admit to "fix up" every once in a while and sometimes I do miss it but not enough to put forth the energy most days.

I have been wearing them for years and
was told by orthopedic guy to wear those or Clarks and I have worn and love them. These last ones I got have killed my feet though and I have a problem on the outer side of the foot hurting. I looked up the Crocs someone suggested and those looked pretty comfortable, might try those. Might have touch of peripheral neuropathy, never know when the feet are going or not. Thanks
Has anyone heard of a 5 yo, nearly 6 yo wearing a bra
bra.  She wants a bra.  She has been asking me for one for weeks and she won't let up.   There were bras hanging in the kid clothes section at Wal-Mart and she begged and begged for one then but I said no.  She is not developing at all but she claims some of her fellow kindergarteners are wearing them.  What are other mother's doing.  Is this a new trend?  I don't know.  When I was 5 I never heard of a bra.
Wearing Bras

Yes, I just for the first time this year bought bras for my daughter.  She seemed okay with it, but she's slightly overweight, so I felt this would be easier than buying T-shirts that are not long enough to tuck in.  So, we went with the Sport Type kind that she seemed to like at first, and now I've noticed she's not wearing them.  So, I asked her why, and she says she just forgets, which is highly possible, since it's only been since school started.  I just feel better knowing she's wearing something, but of course, she was wearing T-shirts.  So, what is one to do?  I really do not see any harm in the bra.  I am totally against having little girls dress beyond their age, but we're talking underclothes here, so if the child is comfortable, then just try one to see how she likes it.  My daughter was kind of embarassed as it was actually my idea since I felt she needed something under her regular shirts, since they tend to be thin and unforgiving in her situation.  Good luck to you, but I in no way, shape, or form believe that bra at 5 means thing at 10 and even if it does, so be it.  I think a person has a right to a certain degree to wear the underclothes of their choice if any at all!

I just think there could be worse things that she is asking for at 5.

They may wonder what you're wearing!!!
or what we're drinking , but who cares!  AHHH, the luxury of working from home!  I can wear or NOT WEAR  whatever I want.  That's all part of the biz!!!  On the norm, I have to go out and pick-up tapes, so I'm with the post above.  Shower mid morning after getting hubby and kids off to school so I can do it in peace, and then if not going out, maybe sweats and if going out, then jeans/shirt.  Boy, do I save a lot on WORK CLOTHES!!!   To poster above, I am taken very seriously!!  I make loadz of money!!!  They take me very seriously when I'm making my deposits at the bank.
Today I'm wearing
Obsession for Women.

I like a mixture, keeps me from wearing out. NM

And I see nothing wrong with a guy wearing a bro.

Yep. Sweating while wearing
something that has nickel in it...it is a chemical reaction.

It sucks big time. I had a BF years ago who gave me this really pretty bracelet that was gold plated. I wore it and it put a welt on my wrist. It was painful even.

I cannot even handle the button on my jeans. I have to make sure I have undies that go that high or tuck my shirt in, it is that bad. Once I had a pair of sandals and I was allergic to the buckle. That was awful too.
Please correct my catch a shoe to catch a show - didn't proof first

I am wearing white socks

Wearing panties sure does not make
my feeling of security. Under PJs?? You don’t sleep with a teddy bear still, do you?
Have you tried wearing Crocs? I love them! nm

Yeah my DD just turned 9 and has been wearing 5s - sm
now for a few months. I wear a 7 and can actually squeeze into her a a pair of her open-ended sandels. She has always been in the 95th percentile for height and weight, but is slowing down some, now at about 88%.
If they are wearing bras at 5, it will be thongs at 10
makeup at 12, and birth control pills at 14. How about these unbelievable salon parties some of these mothers are doing for their 8 and 10 year old girls; taking all the girls to the salon to have the hair and makeup and nails done. Today, just about everyone is a ''wannabe''. I want to be rich; I want to be beautiful; I want to be famous; I want to have big boobs; I want perfect teeth. I want a nose job. I want to be thin. I want a designer handbag. I want a cell phone, an IPOD and a blackberry! Why, because everyone that matters is or does! Everyone they look up to. Everyone on TV! That is all they know.

Ask a group of very young girls today what they want to be when they grow up and see how many say, a singer, an actress, a movie star or just plain rich and famous in any way possible! It's terribly sad what this world has turned into. And some parents are just as bad because they want this for their children, also.

TV and media magazines should be banned; it's not only destroying the kids but adults also. How many of you feel your self-esteem lowering more and more by seeing all of this stuff? How many of you have contemplated plastic surgery, veneers, teeth whitening, losing weight, especially in the last ten years? How many of you suddenly are feeling bad or envious of others because you don't have that big gorgeous home or that expensive great car?

It's a horrible world we now live in and that's why I am not having children.

And don't tell me I don't know about children because I have two nieces and a nephew that I practically raised.

Good day ;)

I gave up wearing my rings sm
I've had them resized twice already, once up a size and another down a size. I don't think they will resize them a third time. I, too, have arthritis and prednisone swells my finger something fierce. I have a beutiful mother's ring that I can't wear again since it is too small now.
Is anybody wearing green today?
I forgot, but when my kid tried to pinch me (oh brother), we realized I had a green coffee cup and some green lines in my shirt. HA.  So, do you care about this green stuff? Frankly I care about the green in my wallet, so I am typing more than thinking about green beer today. LOL.  Happy St. Patty's Day! (green face icon)
About the same time he starts wearing a bra . . . NM

wearing your heart on your sleeve
I too have spent too much time thinking about this. From your post, your description of your daughter's intelligence and your own dismay at the rudeness of these people, I can only come to one conclusion.....You are hanging around people less intelligent than you are. Not figuratively, but IQ. You are sensitive, they are obtuse.

However, I have also discovered that the people who use a simple "hello" as currency to give or take away, are broke. The worst snobs in my neighborhood are broke and don't want anyone to know. They try to hide their financial status, but you don't so you are scary.

I have been treated the worst by the mean and stupid. Think about what a breath of fresh air your daughter is to that little boy. I am glad you went to the party.
Just my size!

I'm not advertising for the name brand... just stating a fact

I don't mind underwires, however.  I do tend to look for "full coverage"... I don't wear skimpy tops and if I did I wouldn't want it to look like a butt on my chest!

Anyway, with full coverage, underwire or not, I've never had a problem falling out, ever.  So, that would be my only suggestion.  I don't really have a preferred brand, just a style preference.  I've got everything from Olga/Warner to Victorias Secret to Walmart and K-mart specials.  If it fits, covers and I think it's pretty, I get it!

My 15 yo son is 6Ƌ and in a size
16 shoe, and getting ready for another growth spurt. I can always tell because for days he complains his legs hurt and then all of a sudden he is taller and shoes hurt his feet. Buying shoes for him is soooo much fun because when he finds shoes he likes, they usually go up to 13. Found a store that carries them up to size 20 now. I feel like I am going boat shopping when I take him shoe shopping. I was thinking of writing Shaq for leftover shoes....lol. My 13 yo daughter is 5ƍ and in a 9. Here I am at 5ƈ and a size 6 shoe. Daughter is looking into modeling but son is too tall for it they say.
What size is this?
My sister-in-law weighs about 300 pounds and is about 5 feet, 6 inches tall.  I would like to buy her a nice pull over, but I do not know her size and I don't want to ask.  Does anyone out there know what size this would be.  I am guessing at the weight compared to my husband's (her brother) which I already know.  What's the favorite store for plus sizes?  I saw Lane Bryant was closing some stores, but are there any other good stores?
Plus size

I would think if she weighs 300 lbs and is 5' 6" tall, she wears a size 30, or 4X.  If she's a little over 300 lbs, I'd get a size 32 or 5X.

I would also try to shop at Catherine's, CJ Banks Woman or Lane Bryant.  They're better quality and last longer than the things I've gotten at Fashion Bug or any of the others.  I do buy underpants and plain t-shirts at Walmart.

Catherine's is my personal favorite for both the styles and the prices.

If you're not 100% sure of her size, a gift certificate would be a safe way to go.

Oh look, they're having an "up to 70% off sale" right now!

You wearing a bra ? What kind of underwear and color ?

Ok then, is it just me or did y'all see that girdle thing she was wearing?
Like a long-leg body shaper or something.

Problem wearing wedding band..sm

I was recently dx with RA, and have been having some issues wearing my wedding band.  Two main problems - my fingers get puffy and wearing the band makes my hand itch (even though they are solid gold).  I was thinking about getting a tattoo'd ring on my ring finger, but I was wondering if you all could come up with some ideas that are creative but perhaps not as painful...I don't mind the permanancy, as I am married with the intention of staying that way for life.

Thanks in advance, y'all.

Been wearing Tova for 15 years and LOVE it!
I receive lots of compliments that I simply *smell good, * not *what perfume are you wearing?*  Works for me!
No, but I do have a new pair of shoes I've been wearing a lot (sm)
I was kind of wondering if they might have caused it. I think I will just stop wearing them and see what happens.

Thank you
It shouldn't be about wearing a ring, but more...see message
the way he acted toward you. My husband doesn't wear his wedding ring, just cos he doesn't feel like it, and I don't wear mine either. No big deal, but sounds like this guy was flirting with you and that's what I think was wrong.
Plus-size dresses

My friend is getting married in August and I need to find a dress quickly! Can anyone recommend a designer with a line of plus-size bridesmaid dresses? I'll require a size 14 or 16 depending on the fit (probably 14).

Also, I realize this is late and I may have to buy "off the rack" or via internet versus using a bridal shop. Any recommendations in the Philadelphia/So. Jersey area?

Noticed your plus-size??
I hate to be the one to tell you but the average size now in the states is a 14. I in no way consider that plus. Oh, to be a 14 again. See shoulda checked before hand- now that is not politically correct because it makes us hefty girls feel sad!
My DH had one on his shoulder about that size
He had to have it removed and did well afterwards.
