Her lashes are so long now that they actually hit the inside of her glasses lenses! Amazing.

I had it done a couple of years ago too
It really was not that bad. My understanding of why they only will do two quadrants at a time is that it is because they will not numb up both sides of your mouth at one time, so it is an upper and a lower quadrant done together.

My sister also had to have it done last week, but the weird thing is they only said she needed two quadrants done (I believe on the same side, so upper and lower). She or I neither one could get our heads around that, so she decided to "treat" herself and have the other two quads done as well.

Also, I do not have dental insurance, but had bought a plan from dentalplans.com (had the Patriot Plan at the time I had this done). It was about $90 per quad with the plan, but around here it was $300 per quad without the plan.

Good luck!
A couple of years ago my son was a Lego man (sm)
We just spray-painted some boxes red, yellow and blue and cut holes for his arms and head to go through, put two small boxes over his shoes, and printed out a lego emblem and glued to the front. It was really easy and really cool!
A couple of years ago for Christmas sm
I got my daughter, who is an NYU graduate, a sewing machine for Christmas. They didn't even have a home ec classroom in her high school, all academics. No sewing, no foods classes. (That is where I learned to cook, my mother was a terrible cook).

All the "kids" are into Project Runway, and she and her roommates wanted to try to design some clothes. She was worried that she wouldn't be able to figure out how to use it. (I learned to use a simple sewing machine when I was 12 years old, and she learned it very quickly, too). LOL.

Everyone needs to know how to sew, by hand, and by machine.
Unfortunately we've had to do that for the last couple of years
We really wanted to go on expensive family vacations, but we have a rather large credit card bill that we're trying to pay down so we decided no elaborate vacations until we can really afford it.
When I was looking for a puppy a couple of years ago...sm
I was looking for a female and I wanted to name her Jasmine. I ended up with a darling little male puppy, so I settled for Jasper.
I'd say she has a couple of years left.
xx
I started this at age 19 -- 25 years ago

I don't know where the time has gone.  So many companies, so many lines.  My advise:  Break it up, work two hours, then take a bubble bath.  Work two more and then go to the beach.  Get the kid to bed, then type two more.  It's the only way I hold on to a semblance of sanity.

Realize that we are free from people, no boss breathing down your neck, free to go on field trips, free to take a nap in the middle of the day if we so choose.  We're able to be there when anyone needs us.  The best thing about this mundane, tedious job is the freedom.

When I first started out 20 years ago.
When I would tell the doctor I was a transcriptionist, he would ask if I wanted a job! I worked vacation relief and maternity leave in doctor offices, all the jobs gotten by a visit to the doctor. Wish it was that easy these days!
There's talk about creating one in a couple of years...sm
Some of the areas in our state that have had charter schools start up have had much better test results and happier parents than the public schools.
My grandmother died a couple years ago.
She was not a churchgoing woman but believed in God nonetheless. As we were setting up the funeral arrangements, the pastor asked what Bible verses my grandma would have liked read at the funeral. We told him nothing particular, just whatever he wanted. She wasn't a churchgoer. Well, this Christian pastor took MY GRANDMOTHER'S FUNERAL as an opportunity to tell everyone there that she wasn't going to heaven because she wasn't "born again." I have never been SO MORTIFIED in ALL MY LIFE!!! So, believe me, I have hostility towards Christians who try to "save me" or any of my family.
I stopped watching a couple of years ago....
whatever did happen to Carter? I loved when he was on there. How in the heck did Luka and Abby get together again??? I know he was with that nurse and her son and that's it. I did see one commercial where Abby was pregnant? I'm sure I'm way out of the loop now. It just ain't like it used to be.
When I adopt my granddaughter in a couple of years
it is not going to make a difference to her dad - he could care less about her (literally). With my daughter, though, our relationship is already nonexistent so I don't think it could get any worse when I change her daughter's last name to my maiden name. She is more upset that the child has become accustomed to me being the one "playing" momma and calls me that sometimes. I don't refer to myself as "mamma" to my GD, but she choses it to use it from time to time. My daughter thinks she can spit out a kid, walk away from it, and still take all the credit for success at potty training, dance recitals, the child's extensive vocabulary...all the while not visiting, only calling once every few months, not paying court-ordered child support, send presents on special occasions...

A name is just a name. My 4 yo GD told my daughter she was going to call her "sissy" now instead of "momma." My daughter started crying and the child said, "don't cry. We'll find a way for all of us to be together somehow." Out of the mouths of babes. Think my daughter actually heard the child was saying she wanted all 3 of us to have a relationship? Nope. Too wrapped up in herself to listen.

I think people overreact to names. I think it is the relationship that counts, and if the family of Heartbroken doesn't see that, it is the child's loss and that is who I feel sorry for.
A couple years ago I asked about the same thing - sm
it my case it turned out to be the dog food. Maggie was on Purina One, I switched her to Wellness a good quality dogfood, and presto no more smell. So if the dog has always been stinky the dogfood may be to blame.
Have used only cell phones for probably a couple of years.
Saves us about $80-85 a month.
We had this problem a couple of years ago but from a cousin.... sm
Forget the medicated crap. It does not work that well. Take a bottle of Crisco oil and put it on the person's head. Wrap the hair in plastic and leave it for a minimum of 4 hours. Then wash the hair in dishwashing liquid (of course one that cuts grease). Do this once every 7 days for 2 weeks. No more lice problems. My eldest has gorgeous hair. Super thick, super long and this took care of it. I did also take the time to take a comb and work in through her hair to be on the safe side.

Yes, I of course washed all bed linens, pillows, stuffed animals etc. I personally used Crisco oil and Palmolive dishwashing liquid. Worked like a charm! And BTW: this was actually recommended by a doctor as he even says the OTC products work but are not that GREAT!

Hope someone can talk to this lil girl's parents or the school steps in and does. Hate to see anyone living through this. At times in our lives, we all made fun of for some reason or another... I would hate it to be this way for this child.
I had it years ago.... actually started a few days
after my son developed Chicken pox (about 19 years ago).  My husband had just gone out of town and I had to take care of my sick little one.  By the time I got to the doctor he said it was too late to start on anything.  VERY painful and it took a very long time to go away completely, but it did.  I am sure they have better ways to treat it now.  I'd certainly make an appointment to be seen ASAP.  Good luck.
Have you already started the New Years before I have a chance?
chug-a-lug
started 1 mo before my 10th b-day...22 years ago :)
My little sister started when she was 12 or so. I've had friends start as late as 16. I second the recommendation for keeping some of the ultrathin pads (like Always) on hand. Tampons may be a little scary first time out (although I think they do make some smaller, junior sizes in those). That and maybe Midol if she is having some discomfort. Good luck!
I lost 77 pounds on WW a couple of years go. I agree with
meeting and learn from others new recipes or great low cal/low fat things at the store. On-line or at meetings you cant go wrong with WW IMO.
I tried the Jergens stuff in the tube a couple of years ago and
it did really well. People thought I had been in the tanning bed.
I grew up in FL, too, and we got these every couple of years, no permission slips. sm
I forget who did it, but it was one of the service organizations in town. The Lions Club did the hearing tests, somebody else did vision. They do it as a service to those families who either can't afford the exam or are just ignorant to the fact that it should be done. There's nothing invasive about it, it's a service to the community. I understand your kid has a special situation, but save your energy for something bigger.
Martha Stewart did it on her show a couple years ago.
I wrote the directions down and never got to them.  I remember you soak them and dry them  and then sand them lots - I think acrylic paint and glaze.  There are lots of local craft shows where I live and there are a couple gals that do them - bird houses, bowls, one does the neatest bright red apple ones.  Just looks so neat and think it would be fun.  SO - you might try doing a Google on Martha Stewart/gourds or something like that.  Good luck.
I'm sorry. It's rough losing a pet. I lost my dog, Tate a couple years back. SM

He was a sheltie and he used to lay under my desk when I worked and I would rub him with my foot and he was a great foot warmer in the winter!  I used to say, he wasn't my dog, I was his person.  He got sick and then his liver failed and I had to have him put to sleep because he was suffering.  I cried for weeks!  I still haven't gotten another dog.  My kids have been begging me and they've almost wore me down, but for a long time after Taters died, I just couldn't bring myself to even think about another dog.  I compromised and got the kitty last summer.  I've never had a cat before, so I didn't know if I'd like a cat or not.  I've always been a dog lover, but I've been quite taken with my little cat.  He's ornery little guy and I love to play cat and mouse with him.

Listen to me just gush!  Sorry about that.

Well, this would become regular open angle glaucoma if it progresses to that which
it certainly may.  I am not fond of thinking of using eyedrops with all their side effects.
Wow, a couple of people need to take a couple of happy pills!

Haven't started shopping yet, but have started saving $$$
Don't have an awful lot yet, but both hubby and I are doing it (separate accounts) so we should have a good amount when we combine. My goal is to start shopping in September after my daughter's birthday and finish by Thanksgiving. That's my goal. I have never reached it! Maybe this year!
And FYI, the thread we are posting in right now was one I started, you started the earlier one. nm

I haven't started yet, but have started my lists.
The only reason I haven't started yet is because of $$$. But I have started some good lists for the kids and the DH. I actually have some good ideas for him this year (he is hard to buy for).

I'm like you, I love Christmas but hate the commercialism of it. We were at Costco a while back looking for Halloween costumes and they already had their Christmas stuff out. They always make me feel like I'm already late on my shopping!

I may do a lot of online shopping this year. It's easier with little ones. My 2yo is more aware this year so taking him with me to buy his own presents is out. Darn!

It always seems that Halloween (my favorite) takes forever to get here, but once it's over, then the holiday rush is on.

Happy Holidays everyone!
Yes - I have noticed this too
As I recorded the show last night on DVR cause I was working, and I watched that whole 2 hours of nonsense and didn't even get to see who won because it ran over and my DVR stopped recording. Had to find out who won on the internet this morning.
This is what I have noticed.
People who say they hate cats are usually controlling people by nature and don't like the independent nature of a cat. They prefer dogs as they can control them. That's what I see.
I have noticed the same.
My whites being dingy. I do not buy cheap detergent but I do not buy the most expensive either. I am a bit limited because of allergies though. I usually end up using bleach after a while because I do not know what else to do. I recently purchased Tide to see if it would help because I had a good coupon but I really do not see a difference with that. I would appreciate suggestions of others too! :)
I noticed that too

to burn him at the stake.  Now, it is like he is some sort of God.  LOL.

As far as doing transcription, I would think they would enter the hospital under an assumed name.  I know at the hospital I worked at people would come in under a different name if they didn't want to be found by a gang member, abusive husband of whatever.

Noticed your plus-size??
I hate to be the one to tell you but the average size now in the states is a 14. I in no way consider that plus. Oh, to be a 14 again. See shoulda checked before hand- now that is not politically correct because it makes us hefty girls feel sad!
Only noticed 1 time-
My big furkid went to get his "haircut." He had gotten mats all over him and long haired. They sissified him, powered him up with stinky stuff and put this little decoration around his neck. He had enough, and he was lifting his legs high and walking backwards. I took his kerchief off and he is much better now.
Haven't noticed anything like that here
And I live only a few miles from Oklahoma City, which is Sonic HQ.
I for one have noticed pain when I sit with my leg
was better. Then last week I caught myself doing it again and now pain is back. I also have had less problems since loosing 50 pounds (more to go).

Exercises also will help. The more exercising I do, the more I can sit for longer periods.
I have noticed the British
xx
Did you noticed all the AI candidates are sm
very outspoken this year. They seem to tell the judges why they did certain things certain ways and why they won't change it. In the past the candidates were pretty timid.
I've noticed that in many...
tv shows too, even when they are speaking the drug name they say it wrong. I lmao. But I think they have to unless they have the manufacturers permission to use it or else they could get sued. But it's still like an inside joke to me whenever I hear/see it.
one thing I noticed is now we are
starting to see similarities because for the first time we are developing pictorial references and can see some of our ancestors. I have a pic of my grandfather as a young boy and my nephew was almost the spitting image of him. My uncle was almost a dead ringer for his grandfather whom none of us ever knew because he died young. Before 1900, most everyday people never had images of themselves made, and only a few had it done for deceased as it would be the only one ever made. You are right, it is fascinating. Just think, they all had their own stories.
I've noticed this too but it's not just
I am amazed at how many women my age do not sew, mend, cook or clean. They hire everything out to be done for them. I don't get it. I do a lot of these things for the satisfaction of saving money and keeping a nice home. Am I just weird?
i think the doctor has to have noticed.
and i would certainly switch care providers, because in my opinion, his priorities cannot be right if this gets by him.
I've noticed
that the gab board is quiet today.   Everybody working hard or what?
I have very much noticed and commented on this
some time ago. Why otherwise females would want to have their rolls showing under the tops is puzzling to me. I am heavy and I never wear anything that emphasizes the fat rolls. I don’t wear the real oversized tops either but I don’t like for the upper arms to wave so usually do longer or 3/4th sleeves. I guess the females out there just really do not care what others think. I wonder if any have full length mirrors on just do not care what others think or them. Ugly is a word that comes to mind.
HIV meds
My best friend has had HIV since 1993 and is very healthy otherwise. He was taking many medications but about 3 years ago the doctors did his blood counts and said the disease was virtually undetectable. They advised him to quit taking the meds and see how it goes. They told him the meds lose efficacy after awhile and so did not want him using them until he actually needed them. After 3 years off meds, his counts are still doing great. I wouldn't worry as long as she is still having regular check ups with the doctor and otherwise maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
BP meds (sm)
When my husband started a medication for BP he started having strong muscle twitching he'd never had before. I think it was something odd, like his pec or abdominal muscles, but I can't remember. The MD had just started him on 3 new meds, one of them being a BP med. That's the one I suspected, and sure enough, muscle twitching was a possible side effect, especially if the patient exerted himself and perspired a lot. I think it could cause potassium depletion and that was the reason for the twitching.
Have you noticed how her mother never has tears?
She has pretended to cry, dabbing a tissue under her eyes but there are absolutely no tears.  Her mother is just PO'd she isn't getting the baby's inheritance and that's the only thing she's upset about.
What I noticed, not the artificial leg movement but
even her upper arm movements were so stiff, like a robot. Not only is she unpopular with most in real life, do not see her staying long on this dancing program.
Yeah and have you noticed all of those who tell us to LEAVE
have absolutely NO suggestions for us? Just leave! I bet these same women had mothers or friends or someone to actually HELP them out. If I were to leave my husband on my 18,000 a year salary and 3 kids - it would be a lot more miserable than him not listening to me when I speak.
Ever noticed how much dogs communicate? LOL!
I have a 14 year old Dachsund who was just barking to go outside, and I usually say, "wanna go out?" and he runs for the door, but I accidentally said, "you ready to go?" and he got a very serious and excited look on his face because he thought we were going somewhere.  I tried to explain to him that we were not going anywhere and I kept saying, "wanna go out" but he heard what he heard and he is ready to go!! LOL
