My parents were pretty liberal but I never did ask this question. I remember my older brother coming home drink one night, he was 17-18, in HS, my dad reamed him out. I don't remember him being punished but I am sure he was in some way. I did drink though when the opp came up which was not that often, every 6-8 weeks maybe. I tried to be responsible about it though at times was not too bright but someone smiled on me as nothing bad ever happened though it probably should have. Only got caught once by mom, dad never knew which was obviously good for me. Not everyone is smart when it comes to underage drinking. Things were a lot different in 1982 and 83 though. You are opening a door you won't be able to shut if you let her. While it was good she asked, I would not say yes.
