would you let your almost 13-year-old drive your car to the mall?  The legal drinking age is 21, not 18.  While it's nice that she's honest with you, I still would not condone drinking at the age of 18.  If you say yes to this, she will expect it all the time.  It's not okay to allow her to break the law.  Do you have other children that are younger?  What if they come to you when they're almost 17 and want to go drinking?  Will you allow them?

Chances are, if she's asking your permission, it's because she knows it's wrong and deep down she's seeking your guidance in the matter.  If she really wanted to do it, she just would have told you she was going to her friend's house.  The fact that she's asking your permission shows that she knows it's wrong and she wants you to reinforce that.

JUST SAY NO!
