In Reply to: Shelly, what would you do if your son - just wondering

so please don't bash me for answering. While I have never been in that situation and pray I never am, I would like to think that I love my son enough to continue loving him. However, I would let him know that I do not approve of his choice of lifestyle and, more importantly, neither does God. God loves us all and wants us to come to him, warts and all. He will take care of the warts if we allow him. I would like to think that I love my own child as much.

Shelly, what would you do if your son
or daughter came to you and told you they were gay? Would you disown them, preach that they are sinners, or love them just the way they are? My bet is that you would disown them.
Bingo, Shelly!
Train up a child in the way he SHOULD go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

More parents need to do this and quit throwing their kids to the wolves.
Shelly, it is ok. But when you start a thread like that you are opening yourself up to disagreement
And as a fellow Christian, I cannot just sit by and watch what I think is a misrepresentation of the faith without stating my point of view.  You certainly can believe whatever you choose to believe, but as long as you are posting it in a public forum and presenting yourself as someone who represents my faith as well, I will respond when I disagree, not to give you a hard time, but to represent my faith as I think it should be as well.
