It is not necessary to find your own inspector, but I'd sleep better knowing I got my own, not one the realtor recommended.

Whether this is the seller's or your realtor, that agent is going to make a profit off the sale of the house. While the agent certainly could be aboveboard on this, I'd still want someone I found on my own for peace of mind. Ditto for a lawyer, mortgage company, etc. - find one on your own.

I trust no one when it comes to them making money off of me. Especially when we are talking thousands of dollars here.

Boy am I jaded.
