What kind of financing did you have when buying your home? I am in the south and have a SIL who visited from California. She was blown away by the size house and the neighborhood where I live because I have visited her and from what I see (and cost wise) there is no comparison between the two sections. She guessed the amount of the homes in my neighborhood to be in the 700-800 thousand and I believe about the highest here is in the 400s. I did have a previous home where I took the interest only on (big mistake there) but sold it prior to the payments going thru the roof so learned from that.
