I got you beat on the price you paid
I will not tell you what year I bought my home but it was 15,500. Yep, 2 bedrooms, 1 bath and stayed for a long time. Sold about a year or so ago for 165,000. I had added on over the years and had 2 baths and 3 bedrooms when sold plus other updates. Pretty good profit, huh?
Buy a home of my own - not a palace, but more of a smallish home on a large piece of land. (nm)
.
I used to have a friend that called them land torpedos. I always thought they were cute. nm

You know I would have paid the friend SM
even though it would be a hardship.  But after his last comment about "don't ask me to stay and put things in the right place," I said thanks, but no thanks...
Wow - you would die in Baltimore - land of the Hon

Um, he approached her about the land
he physically went over there to pay the rent. She made it a point to stay away apparently. So who is chasing who here? LOL :)
Living in la-la land
I cannot believe in this time that anyone would leave their door open for anyone to enter. It does not seem like you either hear/read the news or know about things that go on around your little world. Why invite danger by opening your door to the world? In my town some children molested by strangers coming into their rooms in the middle of the night- oh by the way, not only their doors left open but some windows not locked of a night. I read a post on here where a man showed up in one persons home through their garage door. My home is just as secure as I can get it. I love and cherish my life, my hubby's and my pets as well. What is someone other than someone you know comes in 1 day- then what? Good luck with a dangerous situation.
I got one to Land's End but can't find anything I like.
And boy, are their prices expensive. I'll be lucky to find one shirt or one pair of pants. We also got gift cards to Home Depot and Cabela's. Spent the Home Depot one already so I now have new tile in the bathroom. Haven't even looked at Cabela's yet.

Got rid of our land line this summer.
I just added another cell number to my plan too so the kids can take one when they go to practice, friends houses, etc.
11 years and your still living on his land
and talking about moving on to your mothers land. Here's a thought, buy land from him, or buy land from her and then its YOUR land. Better yet, move away completely and stand on your own two feet.
About your fellow land-dweller
She could easily put up her own mail box right next to yours. As long as she clearly labels it with her name, the postal carrier will separate your mail from hers. That's how theya do it out here in my neck o' the woods anyhows....

(Can you tell I absolutely ADORE being a redneck? LOL!)
My dog just ate a piece of...
Broccoli!!!!! My last dog wouldn't eat that. She likes things like bananas too. Does your dog eat funny stuff?

Then go to her and tell her, say your piece but be nice - sm
about it. She will no doubt get defensive, so unless you want a permanent rift you (unfornately) have to be careful in how you phrase your complaint of her being totally nasty, rude and tactless herself. Just explain to her that her little digs hurt your feelings and you are only trying to help her out as you care for her, etc. Tell her if she continues to make the cutting comments about her perceived inability to help her out now and then that you will just have to stop helping her and limit your time with her as she is making you feel like dirt and killing your self-esteem. Maybe that will get her to knock it off, if it does not, then just cut her out, no one needs that kind of garbage in their life and let her be bitter and alone and nasty to herself.
I just saw a funny piece on (sm)
"Best of Craigslist."

Somebody advertised that they would pay somebody to come and clean their refrigerator and then described the problem, which was one specific spill that was growing new life forms or something. It was hilarious.
okay, just one more piece of advice
Hey Emily Ayn - I've seen your posts on this board so many times its almost like talking to a friend - okay, an invisble friend because I can't see you, but at least you answer me back :-) Anyway...this is the only piece of advice I would offer you, and a couple of my thoughts. (P.S. - I hope you didn't think I was shouting at you, I didn't mean the no, no, no to come off as shouting, it was more of an Oh my gosh, no). Anyway...if I was facing the same situation, this is what I would do.

I would most defintely get the address and name of the people. I would then take that with the ad to the local police and ask if there is anything illegal that has happened at this address and show them the ad. They should then be able to tell you at least that this couple is not wanted by the law or has done anything that you would need to know about. Everything could be very innocent and legite, but that would be the only way to really be sure.

As for their ages, I would come out and say to them (again if this is me) I would say.

"I noticed your ad asked for my picture, and I have never heard of that before and just wondered why you wanted a picture of me". I'm not sure if asking their ages would mean anything because "weirdo's" (if they are weirdos) come in all ages. If they have any sense at all they will understand your concerns, and if they get offended that would send up a signal. Most defintely though the only thing I would do before hand is check it out with the police to make sure they are not wanted for anything.

By your posts I know you are a smart person and if you've dispatched for 911 you've heard a lot come your way.

Just wish you all the best and hope things work out for you. I understand totally about needing to feel safe. If you do this please let us know how it goes.

Take care, be safe, and as they say on X-Files "Trust No-one". (That's a saying my DH lives by).
Boy you are a piece of work- nm

Eviction. Foreclosure. Are you still in the trailer? Do you rent the land?

My cell is clearer & more reliable than my land line,
I realize we still need those 2 things - the P.O. & land phone lines, but you'd think that by now the two would be a whole lot BETTER than they are.
Had mine at 29. It was a piece of cake. (sm)
Had the surgery at 7:30 AM.  Home by 12 PM.  Doing laundry by 12:30.  No pain.  No complications whatsoever.  43 now and no menstrual comps.
I would try to find a piece of carpet
somewhere in your house - closet, etc., and have  cut out the area and install the other piece - it will stick out like a sore thumb for a while as it is not worn - but eventually will look fine.  You might even be able to find a carpet installer to help you with this
I had a tubal/ piece of cake sm
My husband is a big baby. I was working full time at an insurance company. I had my surgery the day after Thanksgiving. I was home by 10 AM feeding the baby (not my husband) in the high chair because my husband had to run to the store for stuff we needed. Not a big deal. Didn't hurt, woke up from anesthesia quickly.
a friend's b/friend died last year, drank, took vicodin...

I MEANT "BF" (boyfriend), not BP! egads... TYPO-LAND!

If I got rid of my land line, how on earth would I be able to call my cell to find it!
LOL! I misplace my cell all the time. I use my land line to call my cell so that I can find it.
painful at first but wedge a piece of cotton
from a cotton ball underneath the corner - sometimes numbing with some topical agent like neosporin plus helps a little.  I cut mine too short because walking in tennies aggravate me and this happens.  Works pretty well - wedge it under with a tweezer.
Land's End is good for suits. Don't know if you can access their swimwear at this time of year

When puppy does her business where you want her to, reward her with a piece of food treat.
And when she pees in house, use paper towels and then place paper towels (soiled) to the area in the yard where you want her to do her business. Dogs tend to prefer where they smell the odor. Be patient. This dog is young. Confine her to an area where the floor will not be damage (tile or vinyl). Take her out six times away, including first thing in AM, right before bed, after she eats her meals. Pull water up a few hours before bedtime. Do enjoy your new puppy dog.
It's only a teeny weeny piece of skin, for heaven's sake, get real! nm
nm
Its not a little piece of skin - read up on it. It plays a lot of important functions. Google it.
You just need to look around for some FACTS about the foreskin. It protects the glans, keeps the glans sensitive, plays a role in sexual activity, enhances the sexual experience for men, should I go on......Why don't you just read up on it?
Even higher bill w/3 cells & a land line, but sound quality & customer service are good.

Please don't beat yourself up over this...
stuff like this happens, unfortunately.  My daughter had her bike stolen off our front porch one evening while we were away.  And yes, we bought her another one because ALL of the bikes were on the front porch and hers just happened to be the one they took.  Hard lessons are definitely not pleasant to learn, but I think that's why we learn from them!
....and the beat still goes on!

Oh ya, this white girl got 'da moves!  (of course now I need to take a couple of Advil before and after said moves...)

is beat them up.

don't beat yourself up about this....
I would just be honest with the MIL and let her know how upset the girls get before having to stay over and suggest that maybe they just spend the day and come home at night. Too bad if you seem selfish...they are your children and you only want them to be happy. My ex-MIL seems much like yours...She got her way ALL of the time and if for some reason something didn't go her way...I was always the one to take the blame. I became tired of the controlling behavior and told HER that way it was going to BE from now on (this was after her son and I were through)...I did not care how she felt about it at that point because I had stuffed my feelings and my wishes away to accommodate hers for so long that I didn't enjoy holidays as I should have. I regret those lost years. I think she was trying to make up for the years she was raising my ex and basically neglected him and his brothers and wanted to redeem herself with my children. Needless to say...my son has a relationship with her, but my daughter, who is the youngest and was not treated as well by her, sees her maybe once a year, whereas my son sees her weekly. My son had been forced to spend time with her, while my daughter did not. I would pick her up when she would cry at night. Maybe I should have made her stick it out, but this woman was not nice to my daughter in the least. This was even confirmed by my son. So...what the kids get out of their relationship with their grandparents is totally up to the grandparent's efforts. I think it should be a positive experience...If not...skip the overnights...just visit for the day and she will have to deal with it. Who cares if you are the mean one in your MIL's eyes...You are a mother first.
don't beat yourself up...sm
There's no help for that burnt ring in the carpet unless you've got another hunk of the same carpet in left the garage, cut out the burnt part and carefully replace it...Otherwise, a throw rug is always an option.    Cat
I ran around on the first and the 2nd one beat me, so
I got divorced, yes I will take responsibility for the failures. My fault.
I can beat that.
When I first got married, my husband said "where do you keep the ice?" I knew then I was in deep trouble.

Don't beat yourself up on this.

Kids are kids. My son, at age 17, got his 15 yo girlfriend pregnant. Her parents screamed at us at first threatening to have our son arrested, and we screamed at him at first, but then sat down and had a long conversation with him. He didn't want to get married right then and neither did she.  They decided to get married when they both graduated from high school, but he couldn't give up his "bum friends" so she broke it off with him after our grandson was 2 yo. Didn't blame her one bit. We are still friendly after all these years. The "baby" is now 18 and they still talk. We see our grandson every 2 weeks since they broke up and we still miss her as a future daughter-in-law, but they are both married to someone else now..

I would say not to get too involved and let them work it out themselves.  She is probably going through a lot with the pregnancy and doesn't really mean what she says. She's probably pretty mad at herself for letting herself get pregnant and trying to put the blame on everyone else to make herself feel better. At her age, she probably feels her independent life is over and it's all your son's fault, but it's not all his fault.

My "ex-to-be" daugther-in-law became a nurse making mucho dollars without my son, married a nice guy, had another baby, and we all still get along.  All my son did was pay support VOLUNTARILY for the 18 years and keep in touch with his son, including when there was a crisis; i.e., staying out late, etc., and took the fatherly approach, trying to help raise our grandson equally.

Also, her parents and us are still friends although we don't see them as much since the grandson is now almost "a man", and they have other problems I won't go into, but we still wish our son and his  ex would have gotten married...that's how much respect we have for her.

Am I making any kind of sense? Email me if you would like to chat further.

Got you beat - 23, 30. 37 and almost 44!
My "baby" just turned 14 and now I'm starting over with grandkids.
Don't beat yourself up...........
I do have a question..... where has their father been? I take it you are divorced, so where has he been....where is his responsibility in all this? In my experience, more times than not, these problems stem from lack of a father figure in the home anyway and I know that from experience.

How convenient for his father not to go get him....after all, he obviously knows you will do what is his responsibility, so why should he bother!!

I realize your son is not a minor any longer, but his father, if a decent human being, could go a long ways in helping his son grow up. Might there have been something in your son's past which leads him to be so clingy and irresponsible? Just wondering. It sounds truly like he is afraid to grow up, low self-esteem, and insecure, so bullying his mom makes him feel important and like a big man because he gets by with it. He knows he couldn't do anyone else like that because they won't tolerate him. If there is any way you could speak with their father, maybe, just MAYBE he could see fit to pull his weight and involve himself a little in their lives to help push them towards a more positive end...

I'm really truly sorry you are having to go through this but you are right; your peace of mind has to come first right now. If you don't put that first, how in the heck are you going to continue to take care of yourself because obviously, your children aren't capable.
