Nothing like painting an entire generation of Americans with one broad stroke.

Just FYI, I am under 30. My home is paid for as of last year, and I own both my vehicles outright. I have near-perfect credit. I worked very hard for everything I have and do not plan on relying on SS or Medicare in my retirement (in part because I do not believe that those programs will exist at that time). Of all my friends, I cannot think of a single one that has this entitlement attitude you claim we all suffer from. I feel very bad for you if all the people you associate with who are not yet 30-somethings or beyond have a gimme attitude. Perhaps you should broaden your social horizons.
