See if there is something he would

be interested in. I can relate to his disinterest in games involving a ball, although it turns out I got better at it after I had LASIK surgery. So that brings up the point you might want to get his eyes checked and see how well they are working together. There could be a muscle problem that only affects how well he can see an object moving toward him.

Otherwise, see if there is something else he would enjoy, like martial arts or what do they call working with swords? Or maybe he enjoys crosscountry running. You could start working on that with him. Think of the calories you'd burn together, and you could do it in parks together. I remember this was a competitive sport later on in school, and he'd be ahead of the game then. These things would make him physically fit and give him confidence and something to talk about. Plus a way to make new friends who share his interests.
