The security firm .... sm

was hired by her "interests" from what I can glean from just going and doing some quick searches, and if they're the ones ordering all the privacy stuff, then that goes on their bill, which in turn goes to her. I'll admit I haven't kept up on this closely, so I'm just going by doing some quick searches on Google news, (and of course, believe nothing you read and only half of what you see) but considering the news would dearly love to throw out the fact that taxpayers were paying for this, if it were true, then I would think it's probably true that this is all going on a nice big tab for her.

My cousin had the same kind of order years ago and I promise he got the hospital bill 30 days after getting out, so do you really think she won't, considering she's worth upwards of $40 million?

It's all a moot point, she needs help, hopefully she can get it, and get some modicum of normalcy back in her life, and move forward, and probably end up there again when the paparazzi once again gets her in their sights.

Had to laugh about the firm handshake
Our former pastor (okay, I can't seem to get away from religious topics and I promise this is not intentional)and his wife lived in Saudi Arabia several years ago while he trained race horses for kings (Not joking). His wife always gave a very firm handshake whenever she met someone new. There it seems to mean that the female is sexually attracted to the male whose hand she is shaking.
My dentist says SOFT toothbrush, never firm!
All these years, everyone thought stiff brushes were better than soft, and the harder and longer you brushed, the better. WRONG! I now have lots of cavity and root issues going on because I have essentially worn off much of the enamel on my teeth between the gumline and the center of the tooth. Have had to have more cavities filled, as well as lots of restorative work. Now I use a soft baby's toothbrush!
You'll lose weight & firm up doing ANYthing that you aren't currently doing

I am a firm beiever that it is all in the breeding and socializing of these breeds. SM
ThePit has certainly had a lot of bad publicity, and the Chow has a bit of the same rupturation, but I have known both of these breeds and they could not be sweeter. However, introducing the two might be a challenge. First and foremost, feeding time is dangerous when another dog is around. My neighbor's Chow/Golden mix attacked my friend's little toy poodle and almost killed her because she walked behind the dog when it was eating. It did not even attempt to take any food or go near the dish. The little Poodle was under the kitchen table and walked behind the Chow mix to go into the living room and that is all it took. If you have these two dogs together I would never attempt to give them treats or food when they are together. Just my view from a good source. Both these breeds are wonderful in their own right, but can be extremely territorial, and food is often what will ignite the situation.
It's all a scam. All you need is a good, firm toothbrush - brush at least sm
for 2 minutes AND you have to floss every day if not almost every single day. Also, what keeps your mouth very clean are those whitening strips! Because it is loaded with peroxide, it actually keeps your gums and gumlines from developing bacteria that causes gingivitis.

I used to get canker sores and sores in my mouth ALL THE TIME. After I started whitening my teeth regularly I haven't had a sore since. I bit the side of my cheek the other week and NOTHING surfaced from it. For years and years every time I would bite my lip or cheek it would develop into a nasty sore. I thank those Crest White Strips for keeping my mouth clean!
I have a TV that has both the DVD and VCR built in..is that what you mean?
I LOVE electronics, but running them is a different story hehe!

I agree with you and feel very deeply for this poor child. This woman is hateful, immature, and a dozen other adjectives that I could add, but they just would not change her bad, bad, bad, bad behavior and attitude. Wonder if her husband knows she is trash-talking him online --- would love to here his opinion of this situation --- since she has unilaterally decided to air her dirty laundry in a public format. Who is spitful and immature????
steps
Example of what??? Someone who supports children rather than those who abuse them?
steps
You be gone --- find someting to do rather than supporting this freaks abuse of her husband's 5-year-old child.
steps
If I am a nut for not supporting child abuse, then a nut I am.
steps
Thank you for your warped insight. I do not, in fact have low self esteem --- that belongs to those of you who think that a 5-year-old child deserves this type of abuse.

Maybe your stepdaughters were on to something they saw in you.
steps
better annoying than warped enough to support child abuse.
steps
I don't need pills or booze, but I am not surprised that you do. Child abuse is not okay. I have contacted a moderator to request that they track down this nut job and report her to the authorities in whatever state she lives in. She sounds unbalanced and dangerous, and in my opinion this poor child needs to be protected. They also need to make the child's father aware of the venom this woman is directing at his child.

It sounds to me like this child is simply responding to her bratty behavior and she is the one who needs to be reigned in.

Unlike you, I do not believe that child abuse is acceptable --- most people do not take pills or alcohol to forget that fact, obviously it helps you, though.
take steps
start documenting on a notepad what happens and when. Keep the note you found. definitely contact the police for further documentation, and ask for extra patrols. Maybe they can even "investigate" the possible "friends." If it were me, I'd keep outside porch lights on, and keep a loaded gun in a safe/quickly accessible place (if no small kids in house). There is too much tragedy going on nowadays to ignore this kind of thing. It is NOT something to ignore.
I'm not sure how it works on a built-in ...
but you should be able to play the DVD and, if the VHS player is also a recorder, you should be able to record a VHS tape. Otherwise you might need to hook up a second VHS recorder and tape from the DVD player. Like I said, not sure about a combo but you should be able to check the instruction book. Good luck.
Just built a new house.....

a couple of years ago and my husband and I did several different things throughout the floors in the house.  The living room is hardwood floor.  It looks really nice but it does tend to show dust more than linoleum or tile would.  Our kitchen is next to the living room and we tiled the kitchen.  It doesn't look tacky next to each other.

I would go for linoleum in the kitchen for several reasons actually.  If you get water on the hardwood floor and it soaks in between the joints of the hardwood floor, it will swell and you will start to get some creeks in the floor.  I think linoleum would hold up really well with all the spills that happen in a kitchen.

My husband and I actually went to a flooring place and looked at their back room of tile that was discontinued.  Not only did we get really nice tile but we got it a heck of a lot cheaper because that tile was discontinued.  I love our tile.  We have it in the dining room, kitchen, foyer, and all the bathrooms.  We have carpet in all the bedrooms and we have hardwood floor in the living room.

The hardwood floor, however, will add more value to your home than linoleum and that same goes for tile.

baby steps
Start by throwing away what is broken, stained and full of holes. If I can't throw that away, I make a rag bag and put it in the garage for checking the oil.
newer ones are built same as stick;

This is a brand new house, just built

Therefore there is nothing to compare it to. I don't know how they came up with the $200+ initially. But since the natural gas bill rarely runs more than $30-40 per month even in winter, I am not going to do averaging on it again, even after the 12-month period is up.

It's worth it for the electricity because it runs around $100 a month with averaging and it goes up and down a lot more. I live in Oklahoma and it can get as high as 100 degrees plus in the summer, and down to zero or below in the winter.

start with small steps

It does sound like separation anxiety.  I've had this.  I start with small steps -- going out and driving around a couple of blocks and then coming back home again.  Then I increase the amount of time I am driving little by little.  She knows Mom will be back this way and over time has gotten used to my being gone for hours.  She had been abused when I got her and was a wreck emotionally so I hope this gives you comfort.

I also keep the atmosphere at home the same when I go out as when I am home -- radio playing, lights on, etc.  No drastic changes except for me being gone.  My pets like New Age.  Puts them right to sleep.  (me too sometimes).

If you have an answering machine, call home and just talk to the dog as you would if you were there.  Let him hear your voice.  He might just think you are in another room, but with your dog he might tear down the doors to get to you so I don't know about this for your circumstances.

I also have a roomy crate near my desk and I keep a pair of slippers near it.  I have a couple of cats and a dog. They all argue over who's crate it is, as they think it is their "special place."  The door is left open all the time.  Often I find them all in there snuggled up together.  But this gives them a feeling of a special place whether I am here or not.  They have their place, I have mine.  I think this helps when I am gone because I often find my dog has dragged her favorite blanket over to the crate while I was gone.  My scent is on the slippers and that comforts her.

Also, bringing home a treat helps!

I have a cat who pries the cabinet doors open and curls up inside the frying pans.  Now I have an obstacle course of buckets, etc. to climb over as I work at the counter!  (If I move them, I forget to put them back until I hear him close the cabinet door behind himself.)

There are more tricks out there somewhere but I can't remember any of them.  Hope you find something that works for you.  That's a BIG problem in more ways than one!

We just moved out of modular and built (sm)

We lived in a modular, what some would call a 'double-wide', for about 8 years, and while it was by no means what one would call a trailer, neither was it as sound as a site built house.  It was a great starter home, but there were a couple of things about it that anyone looking to buy a modular should be aware of.  The first thing is that resale on modulars/manufactured homes is not as brisk (at least in my part of the country) as a regular, site-built home.  We ended up selling ours via land contract.  The second thing to be aware of is that these homes off-gas.  If you move into a new house, there is going to be a smell associated with that new construction but in a manufactured home, because of the way they are built, on an assembly line, some things are done differently than in a traditional house.  There is a lot of formaldehyde used in the construction of these homes.

Heating and ventilation are other things to be concerned about, as well as insulation, and what type of foundation to put underneath the home.  My suggestion is that if you go with a modular/manufactured home, go with a full slab.

As far as settling goes, any house is going to settle.  If the home is set up properly the settling will be held to a minimum, but if it isn't done well, the settling will be more obvious.  I would check with the BBB where you are looking to buy and see if there are any complaints on file with them re: the company/ies you are looking at.

Another thing to consider:  Where are you putting this home? Many subdivisions have regulations against modular homes of any type, including the one we moved into.  These people (small subdivision) freaked out completely when they found out we were building a house in THEIR subd. and that we lived in a modular at the time.  I guess they thought the trailer trash was coming to town...let's just not go there.

We were able to go through a service where we hired a consultant who is a licensed builder to guide us through the process, and we actually did the general contracting ourselves.  We managed to save a significant amount of money in the process, and while there were very stressful times we managed it well and are extremely pleased with the results.  While we are not what could be considered tree huggers, we did want to build a house that was more environmentally friendly and energy efficient.  There are several ways to do that, and it really is so much simpler than you may think.  We just moved in about a month ago, and we do still have quite a bit to do, trim, paint, landscaping (we have a beyoootiful mud pit right now), but it is so very much worth it.

In any event, good luck with whatever you decide to do, and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

New retail buildings being built when...sm

nearby, multiple relatively new retail buildings still have available space for rent or have been abandoned.

Some men don't see the little steps that lead to affairs...
What I am seeing that are red flags include...

1) She has chosen to discuss her relationship/marital problems with a married person of the opposite sex - this 100% creates an intimate situation between 2 people that should only exist in the relationship/marriage.

2) She has chosen to discuss her marital problems with her clients - this is not really appropriate client/professional behavior. She is looking for a personal connection with someone.

3) She has accepted a fairly large amount of money from a client given to help her personal situation and not as a professional thank you - this is setting up a deeper intimate relationship. She is looking for a provider.

4) Your husband seems to be filling a need to be important and a hero in someone's life by giving her this money (I agree with hero concept below but sex isn't necessarily the solution) - he is responding to the deeper intimate relationship. He is being the provider.

5) He is mad at you and telling you that you are being stupid about this - he is invested in this relationship enough to defend it.

For every step he takes forward, the relationship has a chance of becoming more serious. As each little step that he takes becomes okay with him, the next step is a little closer and a little more natural. While he may never get up 1 day and say I am going to have an affair, he is about halfway down the road and might not realize it yet.

I strongly suggest talking with him about it. Food and sex is a not a cure for this one. Make sure he knows that you are not comfortable with this and you are both done seeing this gal as a hairdresser.
cat owner and just built a house 3 years ago -
I used 2000 sq feet of tile that is mottled with several colors and then 1000 sq feet of teak. I have 4 cats (one Maine Coon who is nearly as big as some dogs!) who are rough and tumble when they play. If I had it to do again I would go with a lighter color of wood floor. Teak is a medium color and does show scratches where it is darker. Just my 2 cents. Good luck. :-)
modular/manufactured (double) are built the same
the modular comes in sections, the manufactured comes in halves. The specifics are the same.
I so don't agree w/you...Oprah built a school in...

you think she would have built the school for girls somewhere NEAR DARFUR where they are beyond poor.  The people in S. Africa have lots and lots of $$ and as a matter of fact, I read about Oprah's school there, that the kids there had their CELL phones taken away and that the rule is the parents cannot visit unless they get written permission from her school.  KIDS WHO HAVE CELLPHONES go to her school....HOW POOR ARE THESE CHILDREN, really....

get real please...........

Did you see couple won lottery, built mansion and
s
My husband built special houses outdoors for
our cats. We have strays, which we have collected over the years. He built a couple small houses that look like doghouses. He installed infrared heat bulbs inside each house -the kind you can buy at a pet store to keep reptiles warm. He bought guards that go around the bulbs so that the animals don't actually touch the bulbs, which I think you can get at a Lowe's or Home Depot. It may sound complicated, but it did not take him long at all. We have used these houses for years and the cats love them. I can look out my back window on a cold day to see 6 cats(3 in each house)keeping warm in those houses. A girl I work with liked them so much she had him make one for her cats. Gee, maybe we should start a business!
Bad idea...unfair and taking steps backward.
This segregates a group out and discriminates against others. It says one group of citizens deserves more special attention or situation than others.

If homosexuals want to be treated like everyone else, they must extend this through every aspect of their life.

It wasn't easy for women or blacks to get to vote or have any of the rights we do today. This group will have to fight for theirs, as well.

I also want to point out that there is no way to shove the homosexual agenda down the throats of those who are opposed and make them like it.

Limbo. Great song, great game. Also,

The girls all line up and walk through a room as if they are modeling on the catwalk. Get a couple of bright colored boa's from the party store. It's a real riot and the kids have a blast especially if a couple of brave boys grab a boa and do it too.  We've had many a birthday party doing this and it was totally hilarious.

Wow!! What a great attitude! I love that - great perspective!

What great determination and help from a great friend! :) nm

I am sure that you are a great mother and a great cook,
and that you tried everything, now try the 'hunger diet'.
Be firm and consistent, consistent, consistent.

That's great!!
A great big congrats to your daughter! She is so fortunate to have such a supportive and helpful family!!
Did he say anything at all about how great a new job for you would be? I'd keep an eye on him as
s
Wow, that's great!

We had always said 3 and that's when we stopped.  They are all teenagers now.  Wouldn't change a thing either.

That was great.
I'm glad they did that. What fun. Not only was he thin, but his clothes were nice. No jump suit. I preferred his hair when it was his natural brown rather than the black dye job.
That's great - sm
I'm glad I don't need them anymore then! Also check with your state regarding laws about those things. For example, in Florida you are only allowed to borrow 500, in which case I would be weary of anyone offering more. Thanks for the tip - looks like you should be advising me!
Great, thanks!
I listen and take all ideas I can.
My mom did it and it looks great.
She did not fill in the cracks, and it looks great simply painted.

DS, he does a great job.
e
For her age, I don't think she looks great at all
isn't she around 20? She looks more like 30 and haggard half the time. Oh, and you too can have that body with the cocaine/alcohol-only diet! Get real!

She is such a piece of garbage. But they say her mother is too (was desperate for fame so pushed her daughter into the spotlight) and her dad as well (didn't he just get released from prison)?

Sad.
That's great! Another one sm
I haven't seen Chuck and Larry yet, but will definitely ignore the reviews and see it. I love good comedies.

Another one, if you haven't seen it, is the Wedding Crashers. I thought it was just supposed to be a silly romantic comedy, but my daughter and watched it on cable last weekend and I cannot remember the last time I laughed out loud, spewing drink laughing, in some time. See that movie.
I think it would be a great job (sm)
True they don't pay real high but you are at your kids school, no child care costs, good benefits, and summers off - sounds pretty good to me!!! They are hard to get where I live also though. Best wishes to you!
That was great. Thanks. (nm)
.
Great Job
There should be more people like you!
They have been a great help to me
in dealing with a similiar situation with a family member. Sometimes you hear things that you don't want to hear but the people in these groups have been in your shoes and they understand what you're going through like no one else.
I got to do this. It was great.
I contacted her because I was going to the 20-year reunion. I couldn't talk her into going, but I did get her to meet me for another trip back home.

There was plenty to talk about. It was great.
