Their desire to want more (money, stuff) far outweighs sm

the consequences they know they will possibly face if caught. Just this morning at Wal Mart I witnessed a man with a cart loaded with 2 HDTVs! He didn't go through the line, just walked right out!! A clerk saw this and yelled, "Excuse me, sir!" and he calmly kept walking. I started getting really nervous! She followed him and then others followed (all Wal Mart employees) and I watched as this man abandoned his cart outside, walked to his car while they tried to get him to come in and he completely ignored them! He got in his car and took off. The manager got his license plate, I'm sure.

I began thinking "what on earth was he thinking?????" Why would you want to chance getting caught stealing 2,000 in merchandise? I don't have the temptation to rob, steal, kill, or destroy, so I can't tell you what goes through these people's minds!

But like I said earlier, whenever any of us do anything contrary to what we should be doing, we either don't realize the consequences or don't care about the consequences. Either way, it is a lose-lose situation.

All right, but she should at least buy something that is worth the money, not ugly stuff........nm

I am in the same boat. I have no desire to go to my in laws for sm
Christmas Eve and my husband is making us all go. It's the biggest fight every year. I am dreading it so much. I wish he would listen to me, but he won't. I don't see a long future for me and my husband. It's always his way or NO way. I should just say I am not going and not go, but IF I do that then Christmas morning will be miserable. He will take it out on me and the kids. I think he's just like them!
He pouted all day Thanksgiving because I refused to go to his mother's house where his siblings (the culprits) would be. The thing is this: They've never liked me. Never. It's been almost 10 years and everything is my fault. For a long time it scarred me, but then I realized that it wasn't me, it's them. And then to have my husband force me to be around this hateful, evil people is beyond understanding. I am NOT looking forward to Christmas eve. I swear, I just want to stay here (I've already celebrated with great friends and my family) and just want to enjoy Christmas eve and Christmas with people (my kids) whom I adore. But, it won't be that way when you have people in your lives (unfortunately) who are exactly the way you just described.

Ugggh. Not looking forward to this weekend. And to top it off, my birthday is Saturday. I told him that I wanted to NOT go to his mom's house for my birthday. That made him mad.
Oh, and don't tell me to put a smile on my face and be nice or put up with it. Until you walk a mile in my shoes where you have 3 sisters and 1 brother who think I am the antichrist, the last thing you can do is smile at these people....And I am a very kind and nice person. these people bring out the worst in me.
Absolutely NOT!! I have no desire to give...
my daughter a vaccination for a STD! Plus, from what I've read, it doesn't even protect against every type of HPV and she can still get cancer. And it's only been tested for a very short while and there may be long-term complications that we don't know about yet.
Even if I was to try to overcome my lack of desire for him (sm)
He did in one case admit to cheating with a girl he met while fishing from a pier in the Outer Banks. He then denied saying that, but of course he said it. I have children to raise. Should I expose myself to possible diseases? He still has not gone to get tested, so why should I give in to him?
If you are both mature and desire a child sm
I was immature for the first, thought I was mature ten years later for the second and now that I'm too old to have one, wish I had more but it's too late. This is not an answer but a longing that I wish I had more than two and it's too late. My husband did not want another as the first had medical problems, so we waited ten years and I am sorry I don't have more kids. I love kids! Also, my MIL didn't like kids and was not happy, complained about both pregnancies as "another mouth to feed". Each time I see a happy family planning for a baby, I cry. If it is going to make you both happy, do it, you will be the happiest in your life when you hold that child. Just IMHO. It will work if you want it to. If you wait until you "afford" one, you never will. Children are beautiful and worth it, they enrich your life, why else would you get "married"?
I have no desire to sell my house sm
and couldn't afford it anyway. On top of that, regardless of hte neighborhood, I DO NOT want to live where there is an HOA!
Ditto, no desire, not in today's society/world!

How much money rasied for Katrina, how much money for the diasters due to the tidal waves and what?
Every single one of them have had some smoke around it with the money not getting to where it was supposed to go. I did not contribute, I hardly watched, was not caught up again as I have seen things like this before. They should give a all you can give benefit for Darfur where people are being massacared each and every day. Genocide going on there each and every day. I have not seen any benefits to help them out yet.
But her money is her money to spend as she pleases -
I don't understand how you can think it is wrong for her to spend whatever she wants to on whatever she buys. It is their personal money they spend. It is not like they are saying give me those shoes and add it to the taxpayer's bill.

And in all actuality, they are saying spend, spend, spend to get the economy going.

I am sorry, I am jealous that some people still have plenty of money to spend and I don't, but I don't expect those people to quit spending just because I had to.
No, because they always put stuff in the L&F -sm
so why would this time be any different? Plus she probably would have called me at home to tell me that she took them home, she knows I am there 3 nights out of 5. Yes, I hope I am upset over nothing, but I fear that is not the case. Just makes you wonder if you can trust anyone these days.
GPS stuff

As a family we do something called "Geocaching" (geocaching.com) which uses GPSs and coordinates from the internet to do a 21st century treasure hunt.  Over the past 5 years we've had both Garmin and Magellan devices . . . if I had an option, I'd choose a Garmin.  Our first Magellan let me download maps, etc... which showed me where restaurants, hotels, etc... were, which was a super bonus on vacation with a 1-year-old and a cranky need-food-now mommy!  We vacation in Maine, and there are only so many roads, so if you can't read a map, a GPS won't help much  !  Have you tried out "www.thegpsstore.com"?  They have reviews, etc... that might help you sort out what you need, and what you really don't.  Some systems may cost $75, but you won't be able to download maps or anything.  However, the big bucks versions might have too many bells and whistles that will just make it more of a hassle than a joy.  I'd also suggest a sporting goods store, i.e. Cabellas, Dicks Sporting Goods, EMS (Eastern Mountain Sports) since the salespeople will more likely have a clue about how to use the thing and be able to tell you pros/cons of each system.

Sorry for the ramble . . . hope I didn't confuse the issue even more!

Never, but I look at the stuff on there a lot.
Money is tight right now, so I never bought, but most of the stuff is cool. Some of its just weird - once I saw homemade reusable tampons made out of bamboo and yarn I think.
I do stuff like that
I have to say that probably it is the thin skin of your daughter and not your lack of experience with death. I rarely say anything to my teenager (when they are upset) that is the "correct" thing to say. I think the drama is actually coming from these young people's first experiences with death, and I have found that teenagers can be profoundly sensitive to even the deaths of people they do not know.

You are just "mom." Your job is to keep her from going over the emotional cliff. Even when it is a member of your own family, that is still your primary job. That "everything is going to be okay" is the correct thing to say.
fun stuff!
I jumped on my sister in an elevator because I'm cool like that and because someone offered me 1,000,000 dollars.

My son's did not turn out so well at all . . .

I loved my brother under your bed because that's how I roll.
If he wants to come and get his stuff, that
is fine. But I would not have him bring an officer, I would have him set a time to do so and YOU have an officer there with your paperwork on the restraining order.
I'm sorry all that stuff happened to you, too, and
am more glad that you moved on as well!  Thanks for bringing me perspective again. I have to run now -- off to the happy world of MTing.
The stuff is awesome!
Works when nothing else does.

Anyone have MP3/IPOD stuff?? sm
i'm thinking of getting an MP3 player so when i walk i won't have this bulky CD player in my pocket.  i know you download music on it, but can you take one of your own music CDs, put that music on the computer and then download that music off the computer into your MP3?  did that make sense?  just thought i'd see if anyone here knew how that stuff works.  thanks!
Then you might want to try some fresh stuff.
I just made a turkey breast today that was very tasty. In a little olive oil, salt, and pepper, I chopped up some fresh rosemary, thyme, sage, and a couple cloves of crushed garlic. Then, I just rubbed that onto the (skinless) turkey breast.

I oven-roasted that with some vegetables, but you could put that on chicken breasts and bake or grill them. They'd be good either way.

Good luck!
Has anyone else watched this stuff?
I watched this on CNN last night and this guy had been planning this for a LONG time. Even the news station had to edit the video because of language and could not show all the pictures either, much less read anything of what he wrote. One newscaster did say, however, after reading over some of what this guy was spouting off in his video, was that the whole motive behind any of this was envy. Envy of what other people had, as far as possessions. He even idealized himself as a martyr, comparing himself to Jesus Christ. This guy had been stated as being an imminent danger to himself and others two years ago by a clinical psychologist! Now really, I seriously do not think any of his sick psychosocial mental fixations had anything to do with him being from korea! He was just a walking time bomb that exploded. JMO
I love that stuff too
It usually takes everything right off my stove in just a few minute. I also sometimes use that old fashioned stuff that now comes in a creamy liquid formula now called Barkeepers Friend. It even takes pot marks off my sink. I also recently discovered those cool white Magic Erasers Plus and now those three products are all I need except dish soap and window cleaner! Why did they wait so long to invent those Magic Erasers anyway?
They have jobs & pay for all their own stuff. Just have to do away
s
strong stuff
I use to sell the stuff and let me tell you the backing should not hurt the flooring.  Actually, I took a screwdriver and tried to scrap, chip or just try to mar the surface of the flooring and I could not even scratch it at all.
Follow up on this cat stuff
I just got back from the store and bought some hairball control dry cat food. The older cat I spoke about drinks water so no problem there. I got the dry as well as several cans of wet hairball control so probably will mix a little of the wet with dry to start out with. I also bought glove to run over the cat and get rid of some of the excessive fur. This is not a common shedding as she has had for sometime, surprised she has any left. I have hairball gel that I could give them in addition to this. Thanks for the insight!
you can now get the freeze stuff OTC

Bad Stuff for Dogs to Eat...
This is a good site:

http://www.twodogpress.com/healthy.html
funny stuff
I don't have a dog but my cat loves yogurt!
me too - I love that stuff.
I go to Target just for that purpose.
This stuff would not turn me on, would it you??
x
ME TOO i hate that stuff.
but prettier!
Why do men throw out our stuff and keep theirs?

Hubby did it again! I had to work a couple hours this morning and in the meantime, he decided to clean out the linen closet.

Things he kept: All his stuff, plus old towels that are good for rags.

Things he threw out: My shampoos, my curling irons, make-up, my electric shaver, etc. When I asked where they were, he burned them! My curling irons were brand new!

Is he trying to tell me something?

This is not the first time he's done something like that. I hate not being here when he gets a "whim" like this, but I never thought he'd throw out my good stuff.

agree with you. This stuff has not been
available long enough to make a determination. I am reminded of Avandia which almost put my mother in the hospital because she was one of the few to have increase in fluids from it. The docs kept telling her that it was impossible that Avandia was the problem. I spoke to one OB-Gyn and one infectious disease doctor, both of whom did not recommend this vaccine, one saying why was it only for girls. This was about 2 years ago when our gov was considering making it mandatory in Tx, too. One doc said it was a lot of hype as it only protected against 4 of the more than 200 strains known. One research physician on a radio show claims it actually is a cancer trigger for later in life, so who knows? Afraid abstinence is the only sure prevention. BTW, sex ed in school does not seem to have prepared students for orally transmitted STD's - go figure.
Getting over holding onto your stuff sm
It is hard to part with things but sometimes (depending on where you live) you can "buy" a table at a craft show/bazaar, etc. Check the price - they go from $10 to $500 around here for a spot. Just check to see if you can go under their license and sales tax # and just "sell". Once you sell the first piece, it will give you an incentive to sell more. Also, if you trust E-bay, some people will buy anything on there. I don't know how to trust -- my problem, don't want to be flim-flammed. My sons both had bad experiences on there. My sister buys and sells all the time. She also sells the beads right off her neck if someone admires them. It's all a matter of passion in your belly, opportunity and researching how to do it. At some of these craft fairs you can "barter" with others, i.e., they may like a Halloween craft and you may like a Christmas ornament, so you "barter" and exchange. After you make your first dollar, you'll be ready to get into it. My sister does very well. I am the shy one. Perhaps that's why I chose transcription, I am a listener. Hope others can help you out with ideas.
LOVE this stuff
I use it mostly on my feet but my fingers too when they start getting chapped. It's a solid lotion that is beeswax based from a place called Beekeeper's Blend.
Maybe try Facebook for this stuff. nm
x
That is too funny! I swear, where do they come up this stuff?!?!?
x
Well, my son forgot lots of stuff when he
was young and I always made sure he had those things because it was my job as his mother. But, he was not an irresonsible child where I think it counted. He graduated honor roll at his school, band, cross country track team medals, and now he is in the Navy training to be a Navy Seal. I think I did a pretty good job for having such an irresponsible child.

Weird but good stuff

Mmmmm!  That does sound tasty!

I went to a pizza place and tried their "grilledchicken & strawberry salad."  Oh my god I am in love!  They had baby salad greens, sliced up strawberries, strips of grilled chicken, sunflower seeds, shredded jack cheese, and raspberry vinegrette...just delicious!  I would have NEVER tried strawberries or sunflower seeds (never mind both!) in a salad, but since then I have been making it myself almost every day now!

So nice to be "regular" for once now too if ya know what I mean

if this stuff works, you will be my new best friend!

People....get over the days off stuff.....
nm
yeah..probably the stuff they recalled. nm

Not wills, but we had to have a bunch of stuff
notarized and needed 2 witnesses for some government paperwork, and our bank provided the notary and 2 witnesses free of charge, so like others said, check with your bank for sure.  By the way, how did you like the the Suze Orman will service?  We don't have wills, and I had actually looked at that in the past, too.  Thanks!
Yeah, and was still having the ugly stuff after I was

Tell her not to sweat the small stuff...
I read recently that wearing red to a wedding is considered bad luck. News to me! (In some cultures the bride wears red!) Does she really think she can control what all the guests wear? If your dress color is such a big concern she should have told you long ago, so it sounds to me that putting you in charge of the guest book is a recent thing. Keep it pleasant, otherwise you'll be blamed for causing a problem, but tell her you'll pass on that responsibility so you can enjoy the wedding.
My dog likes wierd stuff too, but...
My dal loves bananas and her favorite treat is icecubes. She always comes running when you open the freezer door.  You do have to be careful, because there are a lot of things that are toxic to dogs.  I saw a list on line and I was really surprised by some of the stuff on there.  I wish I had copied it or bookmarked it.  If anyone has it, it would be helpful for dog owners if they could post it here.  Some of the stuff on there were things I would not have a problem letting my dog eat.
These are precious! I have old stuff I made way
s
If you didn't stuff it in the bird...
I would just wait until Thanksgiving to bake it.
No clue but my DH does this sort of stuff too - sm
though he does not help with any school projects, I do all that stuff. But he will grill them relentlessly over something that is either really stoopid or totally irrelevant and get them crying, etc. generally shortly before bedtime, and unless I totally prove him wrong he does not apologize to them. I just tell him to back off and leave them alone, it does take a while for him to actually do this though. Though he has been improving lately, maybe because I keep drilling into him that he is going to lose what communication he has with the girls in a few years (they are 7 and 9) if he does not knock it off. You might want to stress that your girls will soon be tuning him out on a permanent basis if he does not stop and stop now. If he needs to schedule in time to help them with something then maybe keep an appt. calendar on the fridge and have them write down their project due dates (in big red letters) and have him write what day/time he can help them and then keep to it. This may help him with his own organization and if he weasles out of helping, make a note of it too on the calendar (and "reschedule" the appt as well) so later he can't say, well you never asked me for help, etc. He should not be waking them up, they need their rest and and he can wait until morning to make himself feel better. Why are men such total jerkks at times? Genetics?
She's just trying to stir stuff up - ignore her - sm
Notice she didn't mention having to chase after and care for children.

Maybe her kids are grown. I don't know about you but I am always on the go with the kids. My mom rarely had time to do stuff with us when we were kids and WE cleaned HER house too.

KitKat sounds like a troll.
Getting rid of lice without the medicated stuff

My daughter also developed an allergy after multiple treatments (we finally found out that they had infested the rug in the reading area).  My grandmother told me that before they had those shampoos this is what they did.

My mother says mayonaise works but I was at my wits end so I went all out.

On Friday night I washed my daughters hair (which was down to her butt)

We then took Vaseline and worked it into her hair. making sure that every bit of her hair was covered.  Sounds gross I know.  We then braided the back of her hair and stuck it in a sock,  We then fashioned a kerchief over her head to keep it all covered.  We left it this way until Saturday evening ( we made a day of it watching movies ordered pizza played board games to keep her mind off of it).

On Satuday evening we took Dawn dishwashing liquid and washed her hair a couple of times.  The combed the nits out.  Nothing was alive.

Her hair was a little oily for a day or two but we washed it each night with a shampoo for oily hair.  It worked great.

Also for the rest of the school year we have problems with other kids never really getting rid of their lice but she never got them again but per G-ma's advice she did not go to school with her hair loose the rest of the year.  It was always neatly french braided with some styling gel over it to hold it and I was told that the gel also deterred the lice.

Good luck feel free to message me if you have any questions

Yes, I buy some items from them. Some stuff is very good
ice cream is great, too!
