He is 19 now and such a struggle to get him through school. Some just don't do school well I have decided. Mine finally graduated, although 1 semester late, only because we waved a trip to Australia under his nose. He also did well on all the testing and loves to read, but was really just lazy. He also plays in a band and is now actually making money doing that and going to a community college where he seems to like it and is working at it more now. A short-lived job at UPS where he worked like a dog made him realize he needed college to get a job he may really that, so that helped. He did backpack through Aus for about 6 months, and that was one of the best ideas we ever had. He came back more rooted in reality. I know exactly how you feel and hard to give advice and tell you not to be worried, confused, all of those things you mention. I really don't think it is you or your family dynamics. Bottom line, believe he will be fine.
