Well, I saw on MSNBC and heard on the radio today that sm

the Grammy's had one of the lowest ratings ever since they began. It said that they are totally out of touch with main-stream America and that the Grammy's doesn't represent most Americans. I thought the Grammy's were a joke, to be honest. It's ridiculous. They are so out of touch with reality it isn't even funny. No one can relate to any of the stars - they can just look up to them and say things like, "Oh wow! I wish I looked like that in short black shorts and had fake blonde hair with a wonderful voice!" Only in my dreams (Carrie Underwood). and the list goes on.

No, I am not jealous. I could really care less. My point I am making is that it's not reality. It's just about who is wearing what, who won what, and it's not even what anyone except Hollywood even cares about. They shouldn't even showcase the Grammy's but show it local in CA and NY, because it's all for them anyway.

I just heard a poll on the radio the other day
that said Blazing Saddles was the all time #1 guy movie. When Harry met Sally won for all time #1 chick flick. I liked B-S when I was younger but don't think I would want to sit through it now.
They are going up. I heard that this morning on the radio. sm
And it is not from any war or speculation. Well, not this time anyway.

Evidentally all the oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico closed down production and everybody went home because of Ike coming onshore this weekend. Right now gas on the west side of Michigan is 3.88, but they said it will probably go up approximately 50-75 cents a gallon. It hasn't happened yet, but then it is only 12:30 in the afternoon here.

I just heard it on the radio this morning too. nm
:(
I've been running around all day - heard a bit on the radio, but 9 DEAD? Oh goodness. Lord,
help those families right now, God. And that entire city. I used to live there. Can't recall that mall, though. I used to go to 2. If anyone is in that area, I used to live in Bellevue (the Air Force Base there). Where was this mall in Omaha? thanks for any info.
Heard the judge he just saw today
is a dog lover. Hope the same judge gives him the MAX. Yes, agree a piece of CRAP. He should have to endure the same thing he put those poor dogs through. It just blows my mind.
Heard the most fascinating story today at lunch. gottah share. sm

My best friend just returned from a trip back home by herself. There, she met up with her high school sweetheart - 20 years later. His mom and her mom are best friends and they were both there for a funeral.  She cried her eyes out at lunch today.
She learned while on her trip back home that the love of her life was divorced, has 3 kids - his wife left him for another man. My friend is married with 2 children.
To make a long story short, my friend is a true lady. She told him all about her life here and he just listened. They were near water (a gorgeous beach) on the docks and it was just the 2 of them and he began saying things to her that made her so sad. He went on and on about how he never stopped loving her and would look at her and say, "you are just as gorgeous as you were back in high school."  She said she would just laugh and tell him he was crazy.  She said she saw him on and off during the trip because she "had" to. They have families that are very close.  Every time he would see her he would give her a big hug and call her gorgeous.  She said the night before she left they were on his mother's porch swinging, eating ice cream and he cried like a baby. She cried. Nothing inappropriate happened between them.  She said it was a connection none like she had ever, ever experienced before.  She said that he made her promise that if anything were to ever happen between she and her husband that she would come back and be with him. He promised that he would wait for her, even if she were 80 years old.  My friend cried and cried.  He cried and cried.

I cried and cried.  I know this lady's husband.  The have a good relationship.  But she and I both know that we did not marry our soul mates.  I don't even know where mine is (we broke up many moons ago), but I know he was the one for me.  There was no infedelity to this story at all. I believe her.  They lost contact when she went away to college, moved on, and that was it.  She would talk about him periodically with me, but nothing real serious.

I don't know how many women (I sure haven't) met up with old flames or lost soul mates and have the experience she has.  She is a Christian and says that if she didn't love Jesus, something would have happened between them. She was able to use her love of God to witness to this man (who isn't a Christian).  She said that she wouldn't be able to live with herself if something happened between them and that his soul was more important to her than her selfish desires.

I commended her for that.  I don't know how many women in her position would have been as strong.  She cried so hard when she was telling me this story. Lunch lasted 4 hours!! I'm glad I was off today. Anyway, it just has me thinking about my ilfe, too, as a married mom and wife. My husband is the most unemotional, unaffectionate, doesn't-believe-in-soul mates-kind-of-guy. I can't talk with him about these kinds of things.  I just wish he were mine OR I was with mine.......

Is everyone watching this on MSNBC?
Which attorney collapsed?!?! What happened? I missed it.
It has been on MSNBC since yesterday.
I'm on the West coast and just heard about it last night.

It was clearly an accident and now she has a criminal record over it.
Breaking News on MSNBC and CNN
Possibly Jennifer Hudson's nephews body is found.  An SUV found in the case with a body found in it.  What a terrible, terrible tragedy for her.
Nancy Snyderman, Chief Medical Correspondent for MSNBC just
release a book "101 Medical Myths and Maladys; the ones that are true remedies and ones that are folklore. Good read. I highly suggest it.

What do you think of the quality of clothing today. What I looked at shopping today in nice stores
the stuff wasnt even sewn properly.  Do you have to look at everything you buy or just hope it lasts a year.
Radio DJ...

Radio here said the first ones sent out were
ones to people that electronically filed. Paper filing would take longer.
I've heard of tops and also heard it is a good group.

Have you tried Radio Shack?
NM
Which one? The lawyer or radio DJ..nm

I leave the radio on for them
We go away about once a month for a few days to visit my husband's mother who lives out of state, about a 4 hour drive away, and I always leave the radio on for our 3 cats just to sort of keep them company.
did you try Radio Shack? nm

Morning Radio
In the U.S., this is the most stolen over the counter medication.

Name it.

The talk radio guy she is referring to
is very adamant about telling people to do their own research before making up their mind about anything. He does his show mostly for entertainment purposes - he is certainly not saying that everything that comes out of his mouth is gospel. He has his show so he can give his opinion - what the heck would he talk about for hours if he did not talk about his opinion?

But that's just my opinion, lol.
He made some kind of radio ...
for years, and he had cancer himself. He was retired and went to retirement place and couldn't sleep and he got up and started working on it. He thought that if you could get those small metal particles to inject them in person, and put the radio waves to them, then they could eat up the cancer. I thought it made sense, but didn't catch it all.
Love=dysfunction on the radio

Its not just the dating services.  Did you ever notice how most popular songs are full of needy, dysfunctional phrases like "I'm nothing without you", "you give my life meaning", "I've been paralyzed and depressed since you left me", "I just can't let you go", etc.  Then we wonder why so many people turn into stalkers and restraining orders are needed when both people don't feel the same way.

Added fresh chives today. to the egg today.
and a SMIDGE of soy sauce.
On 1 Atlanta radio station this morning...sm
they were begging listeners that if anyone out there actually voted for this guy to please call them and explain why.  They couldn't get anyone to call in other than folks saying that they are wondering if people are voting for this kid to annoy  Simon.
Like him too, he is the main reason I got Sirius radio....

my husband doesn't like him, but does not have to listen. I too like the fact that he is not PC, and when he has on something I don't like, I change the station, that simple.

Cool! He sounds like a radio trying to tune in

I think it's a crock. Either talk radio or nasty

One year 2 of our local radio stations, a
hard rock and the country music stations, switched studios and were broadcasting on each other's frequencies.
I miss free XM radio on AOL, but figured that
nm
Radio show host Mike Gallagher...
offered them airtime on his show if they would call off the protest for the VT person's funeral and they agreed. The article I read said this radio host did the same thing when he heard they were going to protest the Amish school shooting funeral. All this Phelps retard wants is to get his "message" out there and so I guess he's going to use the radio to do it now, instead of the funeral.
I was 18 and driving my Mustang on Main St. listening to the radio.

These things called batteries...they power your radio. nm

It's been on the radio. Apparently the main source is TMZ, nothing official yet. nm

podcasts are like radio shows that you can carry with you and listen to at any time.
You can find them easily on iTunes. There's a link to their podcasts somewhere on the left side of the page. You can search podcasts for subjects that interest you. There are also video podcasts, if you have a video iPod. One of my favorites is The Rest of Everest. It's a weekly video show about climbing Mt. Everest.
You can also listen to podcasts right on your computer, so you don't need to download to your iPod, but it's nice to do that. There are podcasts about every topic you can imagine! Search "crafts", and you'll find something. There are lots of travel podcasts, sports, business, you name it. Some are very highly produced, others are kind of basic. Some are put out by professional broadcasting companies, too. PBS puts out tons, and I like to listen to Garrison Keillor's "News From Lake Wobegon" every week, too.
That's probably more than you needed to know!
Just heard
Very sad indeed.
Never heard of it until now....sm
it sounds like something you'd find in the south. I'm not sure if I like the sounds of it or not!
wow, never heard of it, but thanks!
x
I heard, so sad. I liked him.

yep, once heard it said that if you
expect nothing, you are never dissappointed, so I have learned to expect nothing, and in return, I am always surprised, which makes even the smallest of niceities someone does or says much more appreciated by me. We are to be happy givers, actually expected to give until it hurts, and not to expect anything in return, amen.
You have heard exactly what I have
over the years. I have heard so much of this I probably would swat my children out of their seats at the table if I ever heard these gross sounds. I also hate to hear yawning while dictating. Reminds me of the time I used to work outside my regular job and had a physician who was a terrible dictator in the hospital and at his office (this was a group of physicians, otherwise would not just have worked for him) and one day he dictated a letter to his bank about his account and you got it, every word was letter perfect, perfectly understandable. I think most dictators find the job of doing their reports not high on the totem pole. That is why we as transcriptionists have to put up with all this crap noise they send our way. Sneezes, snorts, eating, drawing on a cigarette (yes, years ago that 1 for me), coughing, smacking, chewing, and yes, that occasional bowel movement thing-- my mother would have killed me if I ever did this!! I learned well at her knee, still am very cognizant of others in a family/social setting.
You said if you really WANT to, well heard the
same subject on weight loss from my aunt. A lot of elderly people's appetites wane and now she talks about a person, all you have to do is push away from the table. Hmmm, sounds a lot like what you are saying. If you really want to. Ok, I am trying now- I want to be beautiful, thinner, rich, and so on and so on. Hey, I really want this so I guess it can come true, right? Like I said, lot of people just do not understand. Maybe she has a good friend somewhere that will understand.
From what I have heard,
they have great personalities. I believe that smaller dogs do need to go out more frequently for a longer period, but if you work at home, maybe this won't be such an issue.

That being said, any puppy takes a lot of time and attention, and if that is going to stress you out, say you have kids and a busy life, the puppy stage can be rough. Thank goodness puppies are soooo cute, LOL. My neighbors are working with a puppy, and unfortunately they got it at 6 weeks. They were really bleary-eyed there for a while, and thought we were really smart to get an adult dog.

Make sure you go to a good breeder. This is a good place to start:

http://www.bichon.org/breeders.htm

They are not more expensive than a "backyard" breeder who is out to make a buck. The less responsible breeders tend to give themselves away by using terms to make their line sound special, but usually mean they are outside the breed standard, or breeding for looks over health. Depending on breed, they may use words like "teacup" "giant," or even "hypoallergenic." Bichons may cause allergies for fewer people, but that doesn't help if you or a family member just happen to be allergic. So what out for such buzzwords designed to sell. A good breeder is going to have questions for you about how ready you are to take on a puppy of their breed, and they will also tell you that if at any time, for any reason, you need to get rid of the dog, call them - not a rescue, not a shelter. They will always take their dog back because they really care about the dog.

If you get one, we want to hear all the puppy (or dog) stories. :oD

Never heard of this...
but will go to Lowe's tomorrow and check it out. That might be something that works in conjunction with the other ideas.
you *heard*???? LOL.........

You *heard that AL Gore's documentary had no facts in it*?   And I quote you on that.

Believe half of what you see and nothing of what you *hear* - go do your own research for crying out loud!!!

At least Gore CARES!!

Has anyone heard (sm)
how the poison got into the wheat?  Last I heard it was a poison that is not used in this country.
Just heard from my son
they are finally on the bus and on their way home. We live about 1 1/2 hours from Tech. There is where my son plans on going to college. He actucally told me he loved me on the phone.
I heard that
on the local news - it is utterly unbelievable!
