chows

My parents had a chow before I was born.  It went after a little boy who was looking at their Christmass tree and bit him in the face.  I don't know if this is a true trait of a chow, but they always told me to steer clear of them because as a breed they cannot be trusted.  If that IS true, then what if the dog goes after one of your children?

I had a friend who had two dogs of another breed who also attacked people when they entered her house.  She said they were her children.  She gave up friendships for those dogs.  They bit family members, even the elderly, sending them to the hospital for sutures.  She still kept the dogs.

You have every right to demand that those animals be kept far and clear from your property for the safety of your family.  If her feelings get hurt, too bad.  Better her feelings than physical harm to a family member.  She's refusing to see how serious this is and needs to wake up.   What if the dogs attack someone while they are on your or someone else's property -- who is held legally liable?????

Oh, the chows and the rott are right in there with not being able to be adopted
as they also fall into that same category, aggressive and just was at the animal shelter this morning (run by police department at this particular place) and lots of pits there and they are not adopted out. That is the bottom line so must hold some truth in it whether people believe or not. There was a case of a 60 something year old man recently killed by his son's pit, family dog, he had been around for a long time, knew well, just the breed.
