a couple of years ago MIl and I traveled to see  her nephew's HS graduation.  We each one gave him a card with $20 in it.  He just took the card, sat it in his room and out the door he went   We have yet to hear him acknowlede the card/gift and we are hoping he did not just throw it away without opening it.

FF, last year his sis was pregnant, worked only part-time at a FF joint and her boyfriend left her hanging dry.  Well, i gave her some of my old baby swing, still in good shape but used, bought a couple of baby outfits and took them to her.  Same thing, she saw them but never acknowledged them.  It was still sitting in the chair when I left with the outfits falling to the floor.  I went later to see the baby and saw she had alll brandnew baby furniture and my swing was in parts in a closet.  Darn if I was wanting to ask for that back so I put it together sell it in a garage sale.  My kids and I loved that swing.

Another similar incident, same story, only totally different family pregnant unattached young girl from my church.   I gave her some things, no thank you in return, only thing she did open the gifts and I saw her daughter wearing one of my outfits I gave her so That made me feel better.  But when I went to see the baby, she had better furniture that I did.  Come to think if it, when she and bro graduated from HS I sent him a card with money and I had never heard a word about it.

Last week, mom told me of yet another pregnant lady in high need becuase her man left her and she has no job.  She asked if I had anything to give, I said I am going to try to sell it in a garage sale first because of the last few times I gave, I felt totally insulted.

I hope I am not behind in times.  I was taught that when someone gave you somehting, even if you don't like what they gave to at least say thank you because after all isn't it the thought that counts.
