Too bad - but If you always do what you've always done....you'll always get what you've always gotten.....if her kids are less important to her than her partying, druggin' ways...well, how one makes their bed is how they get to sleep in it.....no sympathy here....

K-Fed, in particular, stays clean FOR his kids....and I don't like or even know the guy, but I do know he IS the better parent from all that is shoved at us about these 2 and not just these 2 but all these rehab'd at-risk younger people....

oh and please don't think I don't have a heart - no flames - got my own family history of substance abuse that goes decades back...some even died....

But having kids is like G_d giving ya a second chance to GET IT RIGHT!!  Some people just don't get it....

JMHO (just my HUMBLE opinion)

This drug testing is going too far - sm
I don't do drugs and I do know that there is a huge drug problem in America but turning around and testing for drugs for every single thing is going a bit far. Not everyone who is unemployed does drugs. In fact I can bet the people who are unemployed are probably using the money for basic necessities of daily living (food, shelter, electricity).

My dad (72 years old) is collecting unemployment and if he had to take a drug test to get his check that would be horrible. He's the most honest decent human being I know of.

A lot of people who collect unemployment don't do it because they want to, they do it because they have to. A lot of them are going through depression and then to turn around and have to take a drug test like they are criminals?...well why not treat them like crap more and add to the depression they are already going through.

Think this is just another way for government to take control and it is not a good idea. Usually the people who are for others being tested are church goers who think they are "holier than thou".

Bad idea.

We eat out an average of 4 times a week...
linch and/or dinner. We usually spend about 20-30 for lunch and 30-50 for dinner. We vary our restaurants, don't do fast food or buffets. and stay away from chains like Applebees or Red Lobster and the like. I don't like places where every dish tastes the same just drenched in a different gravy or sauce. We used to like Olive Garden several years ago, but that is so non-Italian now it's not worth it, just your average pasta drenched in some too cheesy, fattening sauce. We have a great Japenese sushi/steak house near us, a great prime rib place, a vegetarian restaurant that I love.
How many times a week? month?

I know that after the lust and infatuation wears off in a marriage, you get into a kind routine for sex.

My husband and I were married for 8 years and were having sex once every two weeks to once a week. I know this is not much, but we were both working full time and going to school full time....we were just both so *** busy....

Was that considered normal for a married couple of that length? He always complained about the lack of sex, and I should have been more aware of that.

As a friend of mine says: sex is like air and money... the less you have, the more it matters.

As soon as one party feels there's not enough (or perhaps too much), there's a problem. Talk about it, work on it, seek professional help, whatever. Ignoring it is ignoring your marriage, which brings no good.

Need your opinions.

My sister-in-law and I walk together several times a week. We don't walk on a flat surface
we walk around a park that is constantly up and down so we get a better work-out and it is much more enjoyable to have someone to walk with. I have also joined Curves and really enjoy that.
Multiple cats, see inside
I have multiple cats due to being involved in cat rescue. Hope I can help. I have several with irritable bowel and they are on a special diet, otherwise get diarrhea. I do the separate room thing and also have what we call Tokyo cages, but in the catalogs, like Foster and Smith and Revival, they are called cat playpens. The cats with problems get put in separate rooms or cages to eat and have to stay until the rest have finished theirs. This way when they come, there is nothing left for them to steal. That is for wet food. As far as dry, I free feed and have found that the Iams Hairball seems to work well for all of them. I don't know what you are feeding, wet or dry, but hope this helps some. Also, check with the vet, maybe this sensitivity is something that can be taken care of with some medicine or a diet additive. One poster said put them all on the same thing as the sensitive cat which is not a bad idea either. Hope this was of some help, couldn't help myself from posting, I am a major cat lover.
I had multiple ones burned off 10 years ago....

I had a dermatologist burn off about 30 in the neck-clavicular area about 10 years ago.  Those have not returned but new ones have in same area.

My advice is to NOT CUT THEM OFF YOURSELF!!  My child has a big one, sent to my plastic surgery friend to take it off.

Multiple Generations on Facebook
Both my adult children don't want me as their friend on facebook. I'm not sure if it's because they don't want me seeing their page and all their friends' pages, or if they just find it weird to be friends with their mommy. Either way, I only have a very select group of friends on my facebook page, and I still don't see the point of visiting it much. I'm only in my early 40's, but apparently my long-lost friends either want to stay that way or are too old for Facebook themselves.

But Twitter still totally confuses me. What is it *supposed* to do?
I wish we could all go the week of the graduation but their graduations are always a week earlier th
ours. So actually all three of my kids are still in school this week while all of hers will already be out. My youngest is actually missing school to go but my two older kids have finals so they can't go at all that week.

Thank you. I guess I'm just trying to find a nice way to say it without causing friction and keeping the peace.

My DH is your typical male, just deal with it when the time comes whereas I want to take care of things right away without hurting anyone's feelings.
I feel sorry for people having multiple miscarriages

Many women do not know this but if one has multiple miscarriages, it COULD be a rheumatological problem, autoimmune problem and not just a gynecological problem.  I used to work for a rheumatologist and typed many, many of these types of reports and so I just think that women either *forget* about the field of rheumatology or don't know about the field regarding multiple miscarriages, so I'm merely here to *inform*

*hugs* 2 all who have experienced miscarriages - and best of luck to all!

My sister has multiple cats who require differnt foods. sm
She feeds them in separate rooms.  She gives them 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the evening to eat.  The overweight cat has become beautifully normal-weighted over the past year.  They all do well with this arrangement as cats are only munchers cause we keep the food available all the time.   I actually started restricting food times for my cats as well and they are all doing great.  Hope this helps.
I have to have front tooth removed after multiple apicos on it and it just keeps reinfecting. The
tooth next to it is also not the best having had surgeries so bridging is not an option.  These teeth were broken when I was a kid.  Any suggestions other than an implant for the space.  This is quite upsetting as I have spent a fortune on these 2 front teeth.
Oh, please! End times! People have been saying that since the beginning times!
It's just sensationalism. It seems that journalism has gone to a warm place in a handbasket. I briefly majored in journalism back in 1980, and what passes for journalism now would have flunked any of us right our of an entry-level course! It's all sensational reporting, because networks think that brings in the viewers, and thus drives up the advertising price that they can charge during broadcasts.
Another of my pet peeves in "journalism" is the phrase "Unconfirmed sources say . . . " Yeah. Right. Unconfirmed sources is just another way of saying, "Rumor has it . . . "
Next time there is breaking news, listen for it. It's said over and over again, because the networks and stations want to get the news out first. I don't know what happened to fact-checking and pursuit of the truth in journalism, but it's all about getting info out fast, and keeping the public tuned in with the most sensational reports that they can put out there.
Back in the days of the Roman Empire, people were treating each other pretty badly and in unbelievable ways, too. Crucifixion comes to mind. So, I don't really think modern news reports are pointing to end times any more than at any other time in recorded history.

He has been drug tested....
for his job. I don't think that drugs or alcohol are involved.  We have considered it, but I just don't think that it the problem.  I certainly would never let him drive with my son if I was unsure.  I just don't know what it could be.  It would take a book to write down all of his issues.  The sad part is that his father dismisses it all because he does well in school and he is premed, but he just lacks any sort of personal character.  Being smart does not make you a good person and he is just not a good person.  I am still so sick to my stomach about this.  I feel like I am a bad person, having mothered this kid for 13 years and now I am just ready to wash my hands of him.  I am dead serious about that and it makes me ill.  I pray to God that I don't ever have these feelings about my son.

loved the fountain drinks, miss the five and dimes like Woolworth's.
With their drug war going on & innocent
tourists getting caught up in the middle, not to mention how dangerous it can be even without a drug war going on... is it REALLY worth the risk? We have plenty of beautiful beaches right here in the U.S., and why not spend your tourism money to help out our own ailing economy. It is much better to be safe than sorry. JMO...

Has anyone ever had allergy testing before? sm

I have had allergies for years now, but they seem to just get worse every year. I only have trouble from spring to fall. Okay all winter. I have tried every allergy med on the market with no relief. I have used over the counter stuff, Claritin, Clarinex, Allegra, nasal sprays and am now on Zyrtec D b.i.d.  I had a Kenalog injection about a month ago, which usually helps me get throught the summer. I usually get the Kenalog and take my allergy pill and for the most part can get by with minimal symptoms. This year it is like I am on nothing!! I have never had allergy testing before. I would appreciate any input on what has worked for you..or if you have had the testing done. Thanks!

allergy testing-----sm
I just had allergy testing done in March of this year. I had also had it done years ago and was expecting the 100+ sticks on the back. But, I was pleasantly surprised. They had this contraption that had 10 prongs on it and each prong stuck down into the allergen bottle. They then pulled out this contraption and mashed in on my arm and that did 20 "sticks" at one time. They did 3 sets of those and it really was not bad at all. I am now on my 3rd vial of buildup and will be able to give myself my shots after that. I developed sinus polyps during my last pregnancy and had to have sinus surgery last year. The doctors told me that if I didn't get my allergies under control, that the polyps would most likely come back. The shots have helped me a great deal and I can tell a BIG difference.

Just me, but, I wouldn't wait.

Take care!!
has he ever had allergy testing?
my son takes allergy shots and it seems to help him. he doesn't have to take his Zyrtec as often. We also have plastic covers on the mattresses. I don't think the air purifier really helps him a whole lot b/c he is allergic to every allergen they tested him for.
I don't have a DNA lab or the money to pay for DNA testing.
How about a lie detector test for mom and dad instead?
Testing is simple
Very complicated subject, but if you are working midnights, sleeping days, or even evenings, you probably are not getting enough sun.  The only real way to know is to undergo a 25-hydroxy vitamin D test.  If you have insurance and your doctor will order the test, then it probably won't cost anything.  If you want to know, have no insurance, and can use a lancet to poke your finger you can get an at-home test from the Vitamin D Council or GrassRoots Health and pay about $30 for the test.  The provide the test, two lancets, postage and the test is very accurate.  The first time I tested I ordered through my doctor's office and because I had no insurance it cost me $300 but I was severely deficient, a 7 on a range of normal from 32 to 100.  Now after supplementation, I am 98.  Start reading about deficiencies with the Vitamin D Council and go from there.
Genetic testing...sm

Hey girls!

I just had my annual exam and I was talking with the doctor about my family history of breast/cervical cancer.  She mentioned genetic testing and that if I had the gene mutation, then I could have an elective bilateral mastectomy and reconstructive surgery.  Just wondering if any of you have any experience with this or what your thoughts or opinions are on this subject.

Thanks!

I had to go get drug tested today for my - sm
bus substitute driver job; they provided the car for us to go the clinic. Apparently they normally take the white car, but today we took the red car because the white one was being held as they found drugs in it last week. Kind of funny as it is a county car used only by the school employees; and mainly to go to drug tests. How un-smart is that? They still don't know who is the guilty party as the car had more than normal traffic in it last week. Guess they will figure it out though, I bet everyone that has been in that car for the last 2 weeks is getting drug tested; if you test positive you are immediately fired.
Try the company that makes the drug.
We got on a plan for my son through the company and he gets his meds free (Concerta) for at least the next year.
The 100K came way after the drug charges
The arrest came say 15 or 20 years before the 100K and the way they spend their money that $100K probably not around too long.
Has anyone ever been on Clomid - or any other fertility drug? sm
DH and I are having fertility issues and the doc has put me on Clomid but I have yet to get a positive ovulation stick (the kind you pee on), and I am getting frustrated.  Has anyone ever been on this?

what kind of life that dog had. That is very sad. You know, I had to admit but I use to be one of those people that said oh no a pitbull! They are mean, they will turn on you, but that all changed when I got a little pitbull puppy years ago that changed me. My pitbull taught me the true meaning of Don't believe everything that you hear, and only believe half of what you see.
Help on upgrading drug reference

Hi all,

I am seriously in need of upgrading my drug reference. I am still using Quick Look electronic 2004 and so many new drugs have been introduced in the past 4 years.  What would you recommend??  I just checked the Stedman's site and really cannot afford that kind of money right now.  Do any of you recommend a hard copy book that would keep me updated???  Thank you for any suggestions.

Can we drug-test the Senators too?
I don't think connecting unemployment benefits to drug-testing is a good idea. In fact, I don't think drug testing should be random at all. I think it should be reserved for cases that are on a need-to-know basis. And no, I have never used drugs, never tried them. It's a matter of civil liberties and constitutional rights against invasions of our privacy. Next thing you know, they'll be testing us for lipid levels after we're seen frequenting a house of trans-fats.

And while we're on the topic, decriminalizing drugs would go a long way toward reducing drug-related crimes. Nothing is perfect in this discussion though because drugs really are evil. It just becomes a matter of damage control.
I have taken many drug tests for many jobs...
and never felt like a criminal. It is just the way things are. I would far rather have drug users weeded out of medical positions, welfare and unemployment than to not take the test. I don't know why anyone who does not use drugs would feel humiliated by taking a test. Just my opinion.
Whoever did her psych testing at NASA
is going to have some explaining to do. Love has nothing to do with this. She is having delusions, probably hearing voices, the whole bit. I wonder if there is a family history of psychiatric illness. Because it's either that or she started taking amphetamines or had some weird medication reaction. I'll bet the male astronaut is dying of embarrassment.

What's the penalty for testing positive?

How long before they can straighten up and test negative?  Does this mean for the rest of their lives, they will never receive any welfare benefits becase they smoked a joint?

Would I the taxpayer have to pay for the drug testing that is performed this one time or multiple times?  Would I have to pay more taxes when people are homeless?  Would we need more homeless shelters?  What would this cost the taxpayers in the long haul?  Is every applicant tested?  Where is this information for the results of the drug testing stored, in a police database?  What type of rehab if the test is positive would be offered, if any?  Would the person serve time for being under the influence?  Would this cause me to have to serve jury duty more often?  Would they also be screened for alcohol?  What type of future ramifications are in order if and when they do get a job?  Would the prospective employer be notified that welfare was not granted due to drug use/intoxication?

Not an easy task is it?

That is what drug addicts and gold diggers do, unfortunately :(
