I hope Gina gets a great career out of it
anyway. I like her voice and think she is very talented.

But if AI goes away, hasn't Howard Stern gotten what he wanted? Attention and some sort of ridiculous accomplishment? I don't know more than I have to about him, but isn't he all about not having any morals? But he's decided some TV show is getting the attention he craves, so this amoral idi-ot is trying to call this entertaining show wrong. He's such a hippocrit.

I got a great job writing/editing for a publication through my editing skills as MT. nm

Sounds like she is doing great!
I used to work at a vet clinic before all this MT bidness, and she sounds fantastic. They will keep her very comfortable, and you will probably get to take her home soon. I wish the lil' kitten well..what's her name?
sounds great
I have always thought Cape Cod would be beautiful - some day I hope to visit. . we have 4 seasons in Kentucky too, but I enjoy summer and fall the most.
Sounds great!
Thanks, Cat.
sounds great
I have always thought that would be a fun thing to do - and you have the perfect job for that!! I love to travel -I'm glad you all are able to do that. .
Sounds great to me too! Why would anyone...

consider it a waste of money whether it is your home or not? If you have the money to do what you like and you can afford it, so be it! Too many judges out there!

Sounds great! Thanks! nm

Sounds great!
Thanks for the tip. I am going to oven dry some tomatoes today.
How about Stranger Than Fiction...or

my favorites are How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Dirty Dancing, Ever After, The Wedding Planner, Lucky Seven.  I love chick flicks!

Pulp Fiction
I thought it was kind of a strange movie. I'm looking forward to seeing Hairspray, though.
Sounds great! My doc told me to...

cook up some wild rice and brown rice (not that horrible white rice stuff!) and either add sauteed vegies or cooked frozen vegies then add some tamari sauce. MMM good.....I use it to munch on during day, not for weight loss but because I tend to not eat enough. This really fills me up and sometimes I add a Boca burger or a vegie pattie that is sold at CostCo.

Sounds great but what department
do you find this in? Never have seen in my Publix but certainly don't mind asking. I will get and try, anything to keep those babies off the new stuff.
That sounds like a great plan you have...sm
I will pray that they test negative and that you can finally put your mind at ease.....I never understood these selfish ones who drugged during pregnancy....get fixed or tie yourself off and quit having babies if you cannot quit drugging.   Sore subject for me....I lost my ONLY sibling to drug abuse 30 years ago and that put a HUGE REALITY CHECK on me back then and has stayed with me ever since; died 30 years ago THIS coming week.  Take care - I'll CYA here again, I am sure :)
Great - Sounds good to me
My accountant will be filing ours within the next few weeks.
Sounds like you are indeed a Great aunt!

Sounds like a great dog! Wow, deaf and
blind....that must have been a challenge...but worth it!

Thanks for sharing!
Pulp Fiction soundtrack
I am on my third copy of this CD. I love it.
That sounds great - I'll give it a try.
A plus is they grow really well. Another item to add to the garden next year if we like them.

Thank you so much. I will always try something new with an open mind. However, I still hate beets and did when I was a kid. But I do like snails. HA HA.
that sounds great, with apple juice,
but would you give me some idea of temp to cook at, and how long it might take to get soft? Do you wait til its done to add cinnamon and brown sugar? God bless, and have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Sounds like a great way to grow a nice new head
of hair.  I'm sure she'll come up with something to give her a fresh start.  She could always wear a wig.  I'm sure the hair extensions did some damage to her lovely locks.
Sounds great. Have fun. Are you going to see the Beatles Cirque de Soleil?

Sounds great..Question about baking time/temp..sm

How long do you bake the muffins and at what oven temp?  These sound wonderful & so much easier than making pumpkin bread.   Thanks!

Sounds like this one was selective personally for you, at great expense. How ungrateful can you be??

Global warming - faction, fiction, political, mountain or mole hill

Trying to get a handle on whether people have bought into the global warming thing.

Do you believe it whole-heartedly 100% Gore-ly, or do you believe the scientist who have been studying global warming/cooling.

Also, do you believe a lot of it is politically-oriented.

In need of new career
I've been thinking about career change. I love to bake. I was thinking about getting into starting up a bakegoods business out of my home.  Anyone have any experience with this or any advice on how to start out?
So am I. At least, she will have a career

I am also looking for a career change and
would like to work in a doctor's office.  I find it rather amusing that they require some type of "degree" for clercial work yet if you register with an employment agency they place you without a degree (even temp to hire).  When I deal with doctor's offices I find it hard to believe that these ladies have a degree - especially when it comes to common sense, but for $10/12 an hour what do you expect!  JMO
As far as I know career = north

Here's a website that gives some office tips (hope the link works)

She might be better finding a new career
I hate to sound harsh or rude, really, but if you cannot do the Indian accents, it might be wise to take your unemployment benefits and transition to a new career. There are few jobs out there that don't come with a goodly number of ESL dictators, and the transcriptionists that have jobs typing just the "good" dictators aren't crazy enough to give them up.

So keep telling unemployment you're looking for work, but do your stress level a favor and look for it in a different field.
You never ever put anything in writing
that you would not want others to see. Now with the children being totally out of control, the school is probably being proactive in the discipline of this child- she surely is not being taught much from her home. I think the school probably is doing the right thing, maybe the child will not be so apt to post bad remarks about the next person.
Get everything in writing. sm

Any challenge of the validity of the debt must be in writing.  Send it certified.  Did you receive anything in writing from them?  By law they must send something in writing 5 days after the first phone call.  If they do happen to sue, show up in court or they will get a default judgment.  You can, however, ask for validation even in court.  Go to that website I gave you.  You will find tons of information about your rights in dealing with collection agencies.  http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/

Writing
I used to write all the time; my main focus was on poems/lyrics...I miss writing so much, I haven't done it in a few years because I have MS and I guess I have sort of given up yet the words are still inside; just a bit more difficult to get them out. I miss it so much - any tips you could offer me...I still have my MT gig but that gets a little hard too but i am still trying...
EVERYTHING in writing.
Start a journal & in it document every sniffle, every cough, every trip to the doctor or the pharmacy, every sleepless night, every lost hour of work, time & date & duration of mold smell. Requests to fix the problem have to be in writing. Mail them certified & get receipts. Conversations with the landlord: After they happen, write down word for word what was said, time, date.

If you have to resort to legal action to break the lease, you MUST have everything in writing. I suggest you get a book on tenant rights from Nolo Press or visit a lawyer NOW so that s/he can help you plan this out.
okay here's some ideas for a new career Hayseed - sm
Conscientious and attentive, Goats need work that requires lots of responsibility. Capricorns are rarely in subordinate positions for long. Whether they're store managers or hospital administrators, you can count on these folks to run a tight ship. Their earthy sensibilities are best suited to jobs that involve material goods. Banking, manufacturing and building are all good industries for these folks to pursue.
Help in deciding on career change...

Hi.  I have decided to go back to school (starting tomorrow) and I had chosen accounting as my field of study.  However, after looking online at many, many jobs, I see that the Associates Degree that I will receive is not really worth much more than the paper it is written on and will definitely not get me a job making anywhere near what I make now, so I would have to go to school 4 years to do anything with that degree.

The school also has a Medical Office Management degree that would only take me 7 quarters at most (not counting that I can probably exempt a lot of the classes, such as medical terminology, pharmacology, basic computers, document processing, etc.).

My question is, for those of you who still have connections in doctor's offices, are the doctors now really looking at education as a factor in hiring someone, or are they still working on the "worked my way up through the ranks" or "my friend who used to work in an office" or "my wife needs a job and I am going to make her manager" attitude?  I managed an office years ago before I started transcription and I now know that I was terribly unqualified to do the job, but the doctor loved me as a lab technician and he thought I had a "take charge" attitude and put me in charge.  Is that still how it works I guess is my question...

I think she is hoping to help save his political career so (sm)
she tries to appear supportive - for future money for herself probably. To keep him from going completely down the tubes so he can support his children. Won't work in this case I'm sure though. But it also could be that they feel sorry for the guy...I mean not only does he have to deal with his betrayed wife, he has to face the entire country and lose his career. He's probably near suicidal. I would probably have to feel sorry for my husband if he were in those circumstances, just a a basic human compassion.
An office manager earlier in my career...
... those of you who have been around long enough will know the type... the polyester queen who'd started with the doctor when he opened his practice in 1951, and she used to work until 11 o'clock every night, keeping things caught up, but never put in for OT pay, and because she had done it, she expected the rest of us to do it too.... Labor laws? We don't need no stinkin' labor laws.... (No, we didn't stay one minute past closing time. We didn't let her guilt us into it.)

When I started at the job, I was promised a raise in a certain amount after 3 months. I got half the amount, and I was too chicken to raise a stink. Later, my finances got so tight, I went to her to tell her if I didn't get a raise, I was going to lose my apartment and have to move back in with my parents. She claimed she asked the doctors, came back, and told me I'd have to move back home. I later found out she never asked the doctors--and that if she had, they'd have granted the raise. Grrrrr.....

My desk was right next to hers, and if my typewriter was silent for more than 5 seconds she'd look over and comment on the fact that I wasn't working. Nevermind that I was looking something up in the Dorland's at the time....

Many, many years later, I somehow wound up next to her at a retirement party for one of the doctors. She too had long since retired, and I too had moved on, but they invited back any and all of the old staff they could find. By the end of the luncheon I was wondering how on EARTH I sat next to that witch with a capital B for 3 long years and didn't KILL her. Because she was still at it--picked on every single thing I did, including the fact that I ordered steak, because steak isn't for lunch, it's for dinner, and that if you can't afford to pay cash in full for a car, you are not to buy the car, you are to ride the bus to work until you have saved up the full cash price of the car. Then she grabbed my hand and screeched, "Do you bite your nails?"

Come to think of it... it was during that era that I started getting really, really cranky............... :)
I find the writing fantastic.
I get very annoyed with writers who have no writing skills. My hubby insisted I read a book a while back that was getting all these raves - the one they made a movie with Tom Hanks, and it was all about art and Rome and theories about Biblical history - I can't remember the name. That writer needs to walk the plank IMO. After one chapter I was livid that anybody would publish such a horrible writer, LOL. His vocabularly consists of about 100 words, for one thing.
The writing is on the wall, so to speak
You make a difference in the g'parents- your children are picking up on this. I had a similar thing going on with my son- my mother did all the loving, fun things he wanted- my father (they were divorced, each remarried) was strict, no fun to be around, hardworking but I believed in their being able to share and I did. Both are deceased now and I do not regret having him spend as much time with 1 as the other. Oh, BTW, one of my most enjoyable things as a child was when I spent time with my father and his wife- they had a small garden and I absolutely loved to dig up the potatoes- used to beg to get to do it. You should have a good talk with everyone and insist spending time with all- don’t let your feelings play into their hesitancy on going. Grandparents are not always right but she wants to have some time with them. Not all g'parents want to be bothered with kids, believe it or not.
I believe I was talking about the style of your writing.
Stay on task, please.

Well, writing this after the episode was shown.
Doubt we will see Callie and McSteamy but Merideth better get over that thing she has not dealing with her life with mom or she may lose her man.  Drives me nuts, let it go already, get over it, move on.  Liking the new doc Yang has her eyes on more every episode.  Gosh, we all sound like this is really a functional and actual hospital setting;-)
Read up on writing etiquette. It is yelling.
It comes across as hateful
Letter or card writing to Iraq sm
Get an address for someone in Iraq and have them all write a letter or draw a picture for them.. All it will cost you is to buy some paper & envelopes and provide a stamp, won't cost much more for material than most projects. There was an address on here and perhaps she will e-mail you. My brother never forgot that my son's class did this for him. At that time the postage was free, not so with this president, I assume. I put postage in mine to Iraq, didn't ask.Dont know what the postage is today - it should be free but I seriously doubt it.Perhaps some parents would donate stamps as well.
The company writing the 1099 reports that
They have to report the 1099s they distribute.

I personally have great disdain for tax evaders, which is what you are if you don't report your income.

I pay my taxes and report all of my income fairly and accurately. Those who don't are commiting a criminal act against me as a taxpayer and against the government.

Sending your 1099 in a black envelope would be a protective measure, prevening others from easily viewing information through the envelope. Not quite as underhanded as you seem to want to believe. :)

Check-writing doesn't bother me
so much as the little old ladies with their frail eyesight and arthritic hands, bless their hearts, digging in their coin purses for the exact change.  It's too bad I'm in such a hurry I can't just admire their independence.
Make sure his Will is made out and pray. I've seen too many people like this in my nursing career

Dog killing and mayor involved in letter writing
I am really in a twizzy this morning. Shirley Franklin, city of Atlanta mayor, wrote a letter to the judge involved in the Michael Vick dog fighting/killing asking for leniency as, how she put it, Vick had done a lot for the community and helped folks out. Phooey!!! I hope personally he never is able to return to the Falcons or any other football team. I think whatever he was able to accomplish was blown by the fact that he participated in the killing of dogs. How inhumane is that? I hope PETA gets out and strikes each and every time (if he is rehired by any jackoffs) he is supposed to be playing. Came from the ghetto and I suppose the thug still in him. What a shame. Never made a million in my life and he made mega millions and then threw it all away for ??? I am vexed by her doing such a deed and will send letter stating my feelings.
