Turkey for hubby.  Turkey puts me to sleep and can't be tired. Trying to get caught up. Getting nowhere.

who t-t'ed in YOUR cheerios?
:P
Play "Sink the Cheerios"!

You don't need to buy targets or even go to the trouble to cut up paper. My son, now nine years old, used to LOVE playing "Sink the Cheerios"!  I would put a few in the bowl and he'd have target practice with them.

I would also put a squirt of dish liquid (like Palmolive) in the bowl, then when he went.... he made bubbles! Woo hoo!

We also put food coloring in the bowl, a different dot of color here and there, and then when he would go... the colors would mix.

My daughter? She's a whole different story. She's 3-1/2 right now and I can't remember the last time she peed in a Pullup. But she will get away from me and go hide and poop just MINUTES after getting her off the potty from sitting there for 20 minutes while we read book after book after book waiting for her to go.

We're strange, I guess. My son? Potty trained in two weeks. (Wasn't dry overnight until about 4-1/2, so don't even think about that, guys. That's not a potty training issue, that's a small bladder and deep sleeper issue that will pass by itself.)  My daughter?  Total challenge for whom bribes like toys and candy, nifty charts, fancy undies with her name embroidered on them, special books about potty training complete with flushing sound effects.... all have had absolutely zero effect.

I have no idea what to do now.  Any ideas for the really stubborn ones besides just waiting it out and doing a ton of laundry?

Operating with only one beater in the bowl.

SUPER BOWL COUNT-DOWN!

put a little white vinegar is a bowl and set it out.
Vinegar is a great neutralizer.  I always have my stove exhaust fan on when cooking odorous foods and if possible I open a window.   We had someone housesit for us who smoked in the house, even though they were told they couldn't.   I'm very sensitive to cigarette smoke and we had to wash all the surfaces with vinegar.   I had a used car dealer tell me one time when I was complaining about a smell in a used car to cut an apple in half and put it under the seat, so maybe an apple would work too.
Super Bowl is on but I have to work.....
I hear everyone out front watching and having a good time.  Well, they probably think I'm upset because I have to be back here working, but secretly I'm GLAD I have to work.  I'd rather watch reruns of Mayberry RFD than football.  I'd even rather have to work!

We just got done having our Super Bowl Party
My friend and I usually don't watch, I don't like football, but we always have a fun party. This game was actually exciting. And me being from NY, I was glad the Giants won.
Food coloring in the bowl....they LOVE it!

I'll be watching Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet!
.
i'd worry more about that's getting into the food, from the bowl. Microwave doesn't sound

Keep a shallow bowl of apple cider vinegar on the counter.
This is something my mom did - worked for her, works for me. I set a small, shallow bowl of vinegar on the back of the stove or tucked into a corner on the cupboard. It cuts the odor down to almost nothing and keeps it gone. Plus, it's a whole lot cheaper than the over-perfumed stuff from the store.
I just dump them in a covered bowl with vinegar and sliced onion. nmx
