Get the Atkins book and read about it so you have a full understanding of it.  It's a two week period of time where you have to strictly watch your carb intake.  It's basically a period of time where your body goes from burning carbs as fuel to fat as fuel.  The body burns fat much, much quicker as fuel than it does carbs; hence, the quick weight loss and ability to eat more and keep losing weight.  Basically during that period of time, it's strictly meats, dairy, and three cups per day of certain veggies.  No nuts, berries, etc.  Do read the book though because  you'll find it to be fasicinating reading and learn a lot about foods that you never knew.
