Gosh, I just love that smell.  Anyone know where I can purchase something like that?  What a great pick me up for winter.  Also, love the clean smell of fresh rain.  If  I could only bottle that aroma.....

Soy candles
Hope this helps When I want to make something and don't anything about it I go to the internet and type in what I want to know. Type in "making soy candle ideas" see what you get. There are alot of craft ideas for free on the internet. I'm a crafter at heart.
Am a fan of candles too...

Love Yankee Candles also but there is a small company who makes candles just as well, scents the whole house, not sweet or yucky (I get headaches from yucky candles), and they are called Makepeace Naturals with natural soy wax at www.makepeace.com.  They are just as good or better than Yankee Candles at much lower price.  My DIL introduced them to me.  Just thought I'd let you know.  I believe a 16 oz candle is 8 dollars.

Soy candles? Oh, please do explain!

looking for help making soy candles see message
I want to start making soy candles and would like to correspond a little bit with somebody who has experience making them. I have questions such as where is the cheapest place to get supplies, what problems I might encounter, what to do to rectify them. I'm looking to get started to make these as Christmas presents plus for myself at home.  I would appreciate it very, very much if anybody could help ME that is not going to mind getting a few E-mails from me with questions.
Candles essential in my home...sm
I will even pass up the highlighting kit that covers up my gray hair for a candle(s)! I'll even have an awesome coupon for the exact kit that I use, but if I'm low on candles, I'll go to the dollar store and load up instead! I dunno, there's just something about the mood they create that I love!

In my single days, when I had great MT jobs that paid well, I bought the coolest candle from a novelty store (yeah, they sold XXX toys there too!). Anyway, that candle made the room look so nice. It came in a Mason-type jar, and lit the room in a special way (it was definitely a bedroom candle)! It was pretty expensive, but I wasn't poor back then. I'd love to find one just like it again, and be able to afford to buy it.

We're all just different people liking different things I guess.

What kind of things do you buy when you have a few extra dollars (for just yourself)?

Have you ever made those water candles?
When I was a young teenager, we would make the water candles in a bucket of water. Got burned more than I care to think about. Made some pretty awesome-looking candles though!
I make my own candles - easier that way, and fun!

Well I don't buy stuff like candles, for one thing, if I'm having to be careful. SM
I've always lived somewhat frugally (unless you count my PERSONAL spending habits). I don't even have cable TV.
The grass may not be greener. sm
The package you were sold might not be as good as you think. I hate to say that, but it's true. You might want to move slowly and not quit outright, although that can be hard to do. Then again, if you're sure, just jump ship. If they're low on work they'll secretly be singing your praises!
grass is always greener
I was with someone straight from moving out of my parent's home for a long time, he had a kid, we both worked, I made all the meals and took care of them.  I longed for my own apartment, my own stuff, a nice, clean, nonsmelly bathroom, without stubble in the sink, and just wanted to be quiet and not have to answer to anyone.  Well...I got it!  Now five years later..its gotten old.  I'm lonely, no sex life, meeting jerks, and so now i'm just frustrated!  The most comforting sound in the world is someone getting up before you, and trying so hard to be quiet.  I just thought of that, it was really nice, I miss it.
greener grass??

Sounds like you have a dream job.   The grass is definitely not greener elsewhere.  I like my job but  do not make anywhere near 35.00 an hour.

killing grass?
Good question, considering I have a new home and just now have grass starting to show through all this dirt around our house. The last thing I want to do is invest $900 in grass seed and fertilizer only to kill it. Please advise.
Is the grass greener?
Most newbies have trouble even finding a job and you have had the good fortune of finding 3 already that you have thrown to the dogs. If I were you I would get serious and settle for something. You don't want to be labeled "never happy with anything MT." Most companies want commitment and stability from their MTs. They have to keep their customers happy. Well, with that being said, good luck and hope you find the right fit.
Keep your present job while trying out a new company; the grass may not be greener

I think the smell would be better in New Orleans

I smell a huge rat
Is your husband up to no-good with this loser? First of all any "my baby's daddy" situation has scumbag written all over it. Second of all, if your husband doesn't mind being used by this lazy bum for a free place to live, he has to be getting something out of the bargain. I'd be doing some serious checking around if I were you.

Meanwhile, you're right to keep this piece of crap away from your kids. If your husband likes him so much let him live with this waste of oxygen alone.

Good luck.
Sadly, nothing gets cig smell out of anything. It
always sneaks back. I have been burned 3 times out of 4 on E-Bay with MT stuff. I am a huge buyer and seller, and its the only area I've not been happy with, so I'd rather buy new now than risk it. Hopefully it will work. One thing I have tried is sealing whatever it is up in a bag for as long as possible, or as frequently as possible, with a Outdoor Fresh Scent Bounce or two in the sealed bag with the item. Over time the Bounces absorb some of the cig smell. But it would be a hassle undoing a C-phone every day and bagging it. Sorry - that smell makes me sick, too, and I used to smoke! Good luck.

Fresh Salsa Recipe Too!
Here's the recipe for the salsa too...my husband begs me to make it every summer when the fresh tomatoes are in season. I love the flavor of the cilantro and lime juice. Yum!

FRESH SALSA

-12-14 LARGE ROMA TOMATOES
-ONE BUNCH FRESH CILANTRO
-ONE SMALL SWEET OR VIDALIA ONION (MORE OR LESS TO TASTE)
-ONE GREEN PEPPER
-2 CLOVES GARLIC
-JALAPENO PEPPER (START WITH A FEW THIN SLICES TILL DESIRED
TEMP.)
2 ˝ t. SALT
2 ˝ t. Lawry’s SEASON SALT
JUICE OF ˝ LIME (OPTIONAL)

IN A FOOD PROCESSOR, ADD CUT UP TOMATOES WITH A HANDFUL OF CILANTRO, PULSE TILL CHOPPED BUT NOT LIQUID. THIS WILL TAKE A FEW LOADS. POUR INTO LARGE BOWL.

ADD ONION, GARLIC AND GREEN PEPPER TO PROCESSOR. PULSE TILL FINELY CHOPPED. ADD TO BOWL.

ADD SEASONINGS AND MIX WELL.

LEAVE IN BOWL FOR ONE HOUR. MIX AGAIN AND TASTE TO SEE IF YOU NEED TO ADD ANY MORE HEAT OR SPICES.

KEEP IN FRIDGE (MUST BE KEPT COLD). USE WITHIN 5 DAYS. MAKES 2 TO 2 ˝ QUARTS.

You are welcome - you are like a breath of fresh, unpolluted air! (nm)

Being a "service" employee is still fresh...

in my mind.  Maybe after I've been out of the loop for a few more years, I might start to forget what it was like.  But I highly doubt it, because all I have to do is go to any store, hospital, bank, restaurant, heck even a traffic light and just watch...watch the angry, impatient, "me me me me me me" people out there.

Working at home...I kinda feel like I'm my own boss.  Sure there are e-mails and TAT issues, but I actually have control over most of that stuff.  I get out of my job what I put into it.  Yeah, some days are harder than others, but that's just life.

Fresh in my mind are the 8+ hour days of standing on my feet ALL DAY LONG at a register on Mother's Day in a sweltering hot greenhouse putting foil and bows on potted plants, or answering phones at an answering service that were so busy that at the end of 4 hours my voice would be hoarse, or being unable to pee because there was a line of ornery patient's waiting with scowls on their face because THEY needed their outpatient tests booked RIGHT NOW because THEY were on their lunch break and their time is money!  (and then when you finally do get the chance to pee, some nasty-a$$ crotch-cricket-ridden patient decided to leave a floater or pee on the seat!)  And all of this was at least 10 years ago now and still painfully vivid.

So yeah, go ahead and work in the real trenches and then make a fair comparison of working at home versus working somewhere else.  Whackin' on keys and having to repeatedly playback some ESL now and again ain't nuthin' compared to putting up with a bunch of crap that you can only imagine if you haven't experienced it first hand.

Fresh out of school with no "real"

experience you have no clue.  You don't know about various platforms, equipment needed, insurance, taxes, contracts, not to mention your transcription skills are limited and you have no QA skills.

Unfortunately there are many like you who seemed to have not investigated this business and how hard it is to get a job before taking classes and then end up in the same position as you, graduating and no chances of a job.

Another change is that fresh out of school 15 yrs ago,

do I smell a newbie/cherrypicker?
You go over seas, learn medicine in conjunction with a new language fluently, then tell us how easy it is?  These ESLs at least make an effort to slow down and be understood, more than I can say for the Americans.  Besides, it is our job, being transcriptionists, to decipher these accents, research, and come up with the correct terminology for the report.  Would you like mister rogers to dictate all of them? Come on, you can handle it!
Me too, how funny! It does smell good!

I smell a rat. If it were me, I would consider this the first red flag and be on the lookout

I smell a dead cat on the line.... so to say.
