I would contact the bank, stop the auto debits, contact the lender...
Contact the lender, explain that you stopped the payment because of financial difficulty. Ask if they have a hardship plan. You probably have a 20-day grace period on your loan payment, (they report to credit bureaus when 30 days late) and you probably also have a grace period on your insurance. In the meantime within those 20 days of grace, FIND A WAY to make some cash. It seems, at least from my experience, that when you get behind, it is almost impossible to catch up. If you use next month's check to pay last month's bills, you never get out of the hole. I've been in that downward spiral and I understand what you're going through. I've sold things on Ebay, consigned clothing at consignment stores, and worked two jobs just to stay afloat at times. Every little bit helps. It can be done. But don't WAIT, call them today!!
You mentioned the IRS. Try calling the Taxpayer Advocate's Service toll free at 1-877-777-4778. They are independent from the IRS and their function is to help solve IRS problems that cannot be solved through normal channels.

Yes, McAfee (nm)
ss
My McAfee...
does this automatically. I remember paying for a "registery cleaner" a long time ago and it really is a scam. IMHO it is one of the "scare tatics" that they use to get you to buy their software. Are you sure it wasn't some kind of disguised pop-up that you got??
Maybe McAfee would have been enough
there was maybe no need to install all the other stuff, interfering and competing with McAfee.
Now, McAfee PLUS is only $ 30.-- and it's great.
I do not know why Norton should be better and nobody could give me an explanation.
Norton vs. McAfee..which best?sm
Just got a new laptop that came with McAfee..now they are offering me subscription for half price...$69.00...I've always used Norton before and wondering if there is any difference.
Are you talking about McAfee???

I don't care for McAfee, but...sm
I would recommend stepping up to the full version of AVG if the free version has been working well for you.

There's a sort of logical conundrum to the question of whether AV software is "working well" in that we don't know what we don't know. In other words, personal experience isn't enough to tell us whether our AV software is truly effective or we simply haven't been the victim of a particular virus that our software would not have caught. "Luck" looks exactly like "effectiveness" to the end user of an AV application.

It's like trying to prove a negative, in other words. What we do tend to notice is whether AV software affects the usability of our systems. Does it "get in the way", slow the system down, etc.? While these are not unimportant issues, this is not a measure of the effectiveness of AV software in detecting and preventing virus infections.

There are organizations that test AV software and post their results online. Unfortunately, there's a little catch-22 here in that such tests suffer from the same problem that the AV software they're testing has, namely the daily proliferation of new viruses that haven't yet been defined and therefore can't be tested adequately.

I can only say that I am very satisfied with McAfee..sm
The advertised claim of having caught 'viruses' by free AV might just be a manipulation of some sort.
How can a free AV system be more efficient than a paid one?
It is only logical that free AV users defend the free service.

Why would you not recommend McAfee?..nm
nm
I agree. I uninstalled my McAfee &
started using AVG years ago. McAfee was always causing problems, and I've never had any problems or viruses since switching to AVG.
I always considered McAfee inept. AVG apparently is the best, according to some. nm

Finally got McAfee COMPLETELY off my computer

www.komando.com has saved my butt a few times in the past, and though it took some time, I finally figured out where to look on that site for the answers to this problem, too.

Finally got McAfee completely removed from my computer, and was able to download a free antivirus software from PC Tools (also found on komando.com) and now feel somewhat protected.

Maybe now I can start looking into why the computer started running slow in the first place.

Thanks to all who offered suggestions and I'm sure I'll be back for more help soon.

McAfee is huge bloatware. It messed up our PC.
And it's nearly impossible to remove. I had to physically remove some of the files from the registry to get it all off. Many would say "you need administrator rights to edit" but I was logged in as administrator at the time. I won't ever, EVER put any McAfee file on my computer again. It is almost definitely slowing down your computer. The best advice I can give you is to get rid of every single McAfee-related program and get AVG or Avast antivirus software instead. Not only is McAfee a big resource hog, we had viruses get through on it and Avast caught them. I try to tell everyone I know because McAfee comes bundled on computers a lot these days.
Even if McAfee shows under security, I'd dump it. sm
A lot of the ISPs nowadays have incorporated Spyware protection, spam protection, popup blockers, etc., so much of what McAfee claims to do is simply not needed. It bogs down your computer and takes up space, and it is next to impossible to get rid of with a simple uninstall. There are two great free antivirus programs, Avast and AVG, though I would spring and buy the profession version if the PC is used for work. Run those in conjunction with Spybot Search & Destroy and Ad-Aware scans and a good firewall, and you should be adequately covered. Do a Google search for a good "techie" forum and ask some questions there. They can give you good advice about each program's pros and cons and what the best combination is for you. Or even call someplace like Geek Squad, though they might charge for advice.

My advice to anyone would be don't add anything to your computer without fully researching it. I speak from experience because I once downloaded a antivirus/antispyware program that was heavily advertised on TV and it ended up crashing my computer. It was a virus itself! Lesson learned the hard way, I tell ya! I now research any new software much like I'd research a company before working for them.
I agree that McAfee slows down the system, but
only when the scanning is in process, especially when starting. But I doubt that McAfee and Norton are less safe than a free download.
This has no logic.
I subscribe McAfee already for years and I NEVER got a virus.
McAfee checks every website with green
check marks if ok and puts a question mark in case it is questionable and a red exclamation mark if dangerous. So we, the paying subscribers, know which one to open and which not.
I did not get an answer from TechSupport why he/she does not recommend McAfee. What reasons do you have that you do not care about McAfee?
Did anyone contact HR at MQ yet?
If anyone has yet contacted HR at MQ, please post underneath what was said to you.
Be sure to contact the doc and tell him! nm

How can we contact you?
There is quite a bit of due diligence required if you are planning to seel a business. The "typical" selling price of a business is 3 years revenue, but that is also based very strongly on its profitability, but I do have a group of independent MTs who may be interested.
I would contact that QA or his/her
supervisor and ask them to relisten.
I would contact...
the person that makes this program. I have had good customer service from him. It s/l something might not be set up correctly perhaps but Vann Joe would probably give you some help/tips if you asked. He has always been very helpful when I have asked questions regarding his products.

I have been using MP Count for quite some time for counting by gross line, and find it quite accurate.

HTH some.
contact me

I would like to discuss this with you, please contact me at my email address.

Thanks

Nothing that big, he was not there when I tried to contact
about it, sent instant message. it was report that always goes under STAT and I think had to let someone read over some blanks. He contacted me that night and we talked about it and I got it ok but then I had follow up wrist slapping the next workday from the higher up than him. What I was wanting to know does this go on with others, first 1 boss, then another boss- felt like tattling in grammer school with this.
I came in contact with them (sm)
And they gave me the simplest *test* which was basically not even medical dictation, and they tell you that they will *train* you and then provide you with a job, but first you have to buy *their* software. Fortunately I did not fall for their scam, but others have said that after your *training* and they test you, you never really get good enough for placement. Please believe the other posters. It is a huge scam.
Get rid of them (and if you pay well, contact me! LOL) nm

I would contact whoever is over you....sm
And explain to them and let them see who is right and who is wrong. Some QAers may need to be corrected.
You can also contact (sm)
AccuSTAT, Inc. in Wisconsin.  They posted an add several days ago on the Job Seeker's Board for an ER transcriptionist.  They appear to have a really good reputation.
Thanks I will contact them...
Does anyone know if it also works with Emdat Inscribe then?
You really need to contact your sm
prosecutor's fraud unit and see how they suggest you proceed.  You really need to be careful in posting her name and address because since you are an IC and she the "debtor" you may be putting your self at the very least in violating debt collection laws - penalties are not cheap.  I believe you posted this a few weeks ago, right?  Did you send that formal demand with return receipt giving her a deadline to pay?  That's the first thing they (authorities) will ask for.  $16k plus is a HUGE chunk of change.  I really think you will need to resort to legal matters to collect, and probably by judgment.  I know it's frustrating, but posting her name and address on the internet is liable to cost you much more than the $16K.
Can someone please tell me how to contact IRS...
anonymously to report an MTSO who is dictatorial in setting schedule and pay? I'm literally SICK of this and I am going to DO something instead of complaining about it. Maybe if just one individual does something about these cheapo, demanding MTSOs, it will stop after time. Thanks for the info!

Friendly HHS contact
I was wondering if anyone had the name and number or E-mail address of a friendly person at the Department of Health and Human Services? I have a couple quick short questions concerning the HIPAA regulations.

Thanks.
There's 2. Got the contact name or the state? nm

Contact lenses ? sm
I got new contacts a couple months ago and am having trouble with them collapsing after a week or two of wear, making it really hard to get them in.  I am beginning to believe they are making them softer so that we have to replace them more often.  TIA
Contact lenses
If you take them out at night they will last forever. You shouldn't sleep with them in because the contact lens blocks the exchange of oxygen with your cornea. And besides, if you take them out, they are fresh and feel great in the morning when you put them in.
Does she have family you can contact?
I had a former coworker say something completely bizarre to me one day. It turned out she had an undiagnosed brain tumor and she passed away soon after. Saying things completely out of context can be signs of other neurological problems, early dementia, stroke. I have no first-hand experience with bipolar, though.
No pay/no contact/no work
Would it be appropriate to directly contact the accounts on which you work and speak to them directly about your situation? Or is that not kosher?
Wouldn't it be best to contact your
tax preparer? Like everyone, you have unique finances and a general answer here may not apply to your specific situation.
Why don't you contact an authority? Like your
It is amazing to see such serious questions posed here.

12121212 can you contact me...(sm)
Click on "reply by email." I would like to talk to you about MT hospital work in Memphis area. I am new to the field and would like to learn more about it in our area. Thanks!
I was wondering if you kept in contact. You see
how the families say that sometimes and wonder if in fact they do.

Did they get a divorce because of the show? That would be a shame.
Also contact United Way
We were in a similar, very difficult situation a few years back.  In desperation I called the United Way and they matched my family up with a company in our area that went out and shopped for my 4 kids.  They bought everything on the list and even wrapped the gifts before delivering them.  They left an envelope for me and my hubby with a $100 bill, a gift certificate for a Honey Baked ham and a grocery gift card.  When I did my Christmas shopping at the store, they scanned the gift card - it was for $100!  I started crying right in the store.  I will never forget those angels on earth who saved Christmas for my kids and saved my faith in humanity.  And, by the way, it is not too late!  I didn't know help was available to people in trouble, so didn't call until 5 days before Christmas!  They did all of this for us in just 5 days!  Tell your friend there are many who have been where she is right now and she will get through it.  There are many, many wonderful agencies and people who will help you, she just has to ask.  I pray that your friend will get the help she needs.
Contact AAMT
I encourage you to contact AAMT and ask that your exam be reviewed. I do not know if that is possible or if they have a policy concerning same, but ask anyway.

I am so sorry that you had to experience "family stress" during exam time.

If you have a contact number, and you really
want the job, you may want to try that avenue.  You can try to come off on the phone like you were just following up and being quite honest about it state that you intent is to be of bother, but you would love to join their team and help with the "new" account.  Sometimes I think the companies looking get so involved with recruiting that they can get lost in that for a time.  If it is clinic work, I have noticed that pretty much weekends do not really count, so I would try to stick to Monday-Friday as far as communications with them.  Acute care accounts are a little different, I think, in that regard, as they are more apt to communicate on weekends since they usually require staffing as such.  I hope this makes sense.  Good luck in your endeavors.
contact expressscribe..sm
a lot of these programs were not ready for Vista yet. I would have waited at least a year before buying Vista due to just that reason. Personally maybe you should have found out of ExpressScribe was compatible with Vista prior to buying the laptop with it preinstalled. It would have saved a lot of hassle.
I would if you have contact number.

contact other MTs in your area to see if they need (sm)

Vacation coverage, etc.  I have done this and actually acquired an account from someone who was retiring.  One thing I can recommend besides *pounding the pavement* is just get yourself out there by maybe joining your local Women in Business or Chamber of Commerce or something in your area.  Or any hospital functions, fundraisers, fairs, etc.  You don't have to go with your whole resume or brochures in hand.  Just get yourself out there with an open mind and you never know what might happen.

Also, when reading your local newspaper keep an eye out for announcements about doctors joining clinics, opening practices, etc.  Also my paper has a *People in Business* section.  Check it out.

But other than that, 18+ years is a lot of experience and since you are very good, well I cannot imagine any company turning you away for whatever schedule you wanted.

Contact Mr. Cummins......
at Twenty-First Century Research in San Diego at 1-800-563-5418.  He has a lot of used PC-Dart stuff, and I think still sells refurbished units.  I sent him my old TTU, along with dictation cards, about a year ago.  He is your best bet for problems with PC-Dart.   Good luck!!
If you are an employee you can contact
the Labor Board.   You can send company a certified letter requesting payment within 10 days.  You can file a complaint with the BBB and/or the attorney general.
You need to contact US Immigration (sm)
I would not do anything before you find out if it is okay first.  You could jeapordize your case.  The US Immigration has a 1-800 number you can call.  Also, you could ask an attorney.
