I'm sorry that I have come across as being so mean.  I honestly believe that this person does take time off most of the time because she needs it.  Just like you, she does have some very serious medical conditions.  My complaint is that due to  her calling off so much we are behind and my place of employment is not compensating my department with extra fingers, if you know what I mean.  Also, I am frustrated because they have not been as lenient on me, when I also am in need of time off.  My complaint is not exactly directed at the FMLA person, but the administration itself.  However, as stated, she really does not pull her end of the workload, which puts my department in a bind.  I refuse to kill myself any longer.  I  have had bilateral carpal tunnel surgery, etc.  due to working myself to death at this establishment.  For example, this FMLA person has called off so far for the month of July (5,  6,  9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 16, 17, 19, 20, 24, 26).  Now this really puts us in a pinch, especially since I am short staffed anyway.  Last night, myself and another Transcriptionist worked our butts off, but today we are right back where we were because the FMLA person did not come to work today.  We get 16 tapes done and 20 come in.  It is a never-ending vicious circle, and I am just plain tired.
I honestly think that there are people who need to use FMLA and that they do not abuse it.  I feel that I need it, and am not receiving it.  This is where my biggest beef is.
