I think people get EMR and the use of a T-system or templates mixed up. My doctor's office switched to an EMR, but my doctor still dictates. The dictation is placed on the chart.

However, I lost a clinic account due to EMR that they used some sort of templates.

Our emergency room at the hospital I now work for has gone to the "T-system", so the routine ER visits will not be dictated, so the work will be reduced.

At my job I do a combination of transcription and coding and really like it. I am going to be studing for my coding certification since I feel that transcription work is going to be less and less as time goes on.
