I found great headphones, GRADO LABS

Grado Labs SR60. I put a more detailed note down below, where I had asked for help with headphones. I love them. Great sound, comfortable, you forget they are on. I can just type and forget about the sound, such a relief. Like the olden days.

Found great headphones- GRADO LABS SR60
Thanks to all you who replied. At my local MAC store I found they had a display you could listen to the earphones. I bought GRADO LABS SR60, as the sound was good and they sit entirely outside your ear with BIG round ear pads.

When I got them home, the sound was GREAT for transcribing. Thank the Lord. Really. It was just like the old days, when I COULD TYPE AND NOT WORRY ABOUT THE SOUND. I did change settings on my sound card--it has an equalizer-- to New Wave or something, it seemed the best, and put the Wave file way down, and adjusted the volume on the speakers, and I was very happy.

I read on someone's review, some audio guy on the net, that Grado SR60's have not as much bass as the higher number models. But for transcription that is good.

Well, from my lips to God's ears, just in time, I am so happy. Really, I have bought a lot of headphones trying, but they have all been cheap. These are not that expensive, but they were great. The Bose were very good sound, but for transcribing, I did not think I'd like them. Plus they were heavier on the ears, more of a conventional fit around the ears and put pressure on the head. Another great thing about the Grado, they have a metal top piece that goes over the head -covered with leather or fake leather--the audio website said, you can rest that on the top of your head and take away some of the pressure on your ears. That helps relax and pretty soon you don't notice them, like with other headphones fighting all the time to keep them in position.

Thanks to all. Hope this helps someone. The sound is great.
Wireless/Bluetooth Headphones - Found one!

I recently purchased a pair of Motorola S9 headphones. I love them!!!! I listen to Radio Margaritaville on a very low volume and have my dictators at a higher volume. I type away with no "strings attached" and when I want to go in the kitchen for some coffee, I just get up and go....and still listen to Radio Margaritaville while in kitchen getting coffee, doing laundry, etc. These are fun!!!!  Constant listen time is only about 6 hours on one charge, so might invest in a 2nd pair so I can have constant use of them. I don't even feel them on!!  PLUS - It is also paired with my cell phone. So, I can be typing along...my phone rings..I just touch the little button on my left ear and the music stops and my call begins through the headphones, with a built-in mic! LOVE IT!!!!!

Anyone can recommend headphones--good to great sound--Help-- See inside

Hi everyone.  I have a need for some headphones with great sound.  Years ago at Radio Shack for approximately $50.00 you could get the best headphones, like the CIA uses for listening I think :)  The sound was fantastic and far better than our MT headphones.

Well, now I have an account with very unclear, low volume.  I just need better sound coming to the ears.  Like in the olden days when I just typed because I could actually hear what they were saying!

If anyone has any great headphones, that minimize listening time and maximize typing time, please post or email me.  I left my email address, just click the link to email.  Thanks SOOOOOO much.  Thanks.  Really.  Thanks.

I just bought a pair of Able Planet (Lynx) NC Headphones I'll give you a great deal on! SM
I did a ton of research and found that many preferred these headphones over the Bose. They were actually more expensive. I paid over $300.00 for these! The only reason I purchased these was because I could charge them on my Dell account. They really are awesome. I can't even hear myself type when I turn on the NC feature. They are comfortable, but after 18 years as an MT, I've just gotten used to the stethoscope style or earbuds.

If you'd like to contact me, I'll give you an offer you can't refuse!
Grado from Brooklyn, NY. SM
I bought their inexpensive set, was about $68.00 I think. I had pain from my other headsets, this set goes over entire outside of ears with great large cushion of foam and had great sound. It was really nice.

THey have a website.
Found a great eponym website! sm

This has been helpful to me.  I thought I'd share for those of you who haven't already discovered this website.

Hope it is helpful.

I found a GREAT job by posting my resume here. :-)
I didn't have much faith in the process since I have heard that hundreds of people respond to each ad posted, but decided to give it a try anyway ... and I'm glad I did.  I was contacted by a small company with a great owner who pays well and treats me with courtesy and respect.  Thanks MT Stars!
I found a great free utility...

after making myself nuts and getting lots of technical advice on how to backup AutoText, when what I wanted was to back up AutoCorrect -- I found this great little utility that creates a text document out of your AutoCorrect entries, then you run it again on the Text document to re-create your AutoCorrect if lost.  Click on the link under "Method 1" on this page to download it.  It's a lifesaver!

I have the Infinity, have found it compatible with just about everything, it is great!.....NM

Not a great site. I have found many errors on

I have found great reviews on Kapersky. Do you know if...
they offer a free trial? I just downloaded Webroot Internet Security and it's "supposed" to be pretty good. I've got it free for 14 days. Thanks!
No flame here - think it's great you found something that will work for you plus get clothes clea
at the same time.  Thanks for sharing this tip with us!
I just saw a great one where he found a lady friend for a woman's boxer dog.
It was cool how he treated the dog so differently from the woman, and dogs respond very quickly to him. To allow the two boxers to get to know each other in a natural way and allow all their social interactions to progress where he could monitor them, he had to ask the woman to stay out 100 feet away. Otherwise she would have been smothering them with kisses - just her way. The two boxers hit it off, going through all the right social behaviors so they could get to know each other and not squabble.
Labs...
It's been 2 years since we had to put down our 2-1/2-year-old chocolate Lab.  Gosh, that boy was a part of our family and it was so tragic.  He had epilepsy, then congenital hyperlipidemia which caused recurrent pancreatitis, and finally developed megaesophagus which was the hallmark symptom of myasthenia gravis.  He was so weak he could hardly get up anymore, and could no eat in the last day or two.  We had no choice.  It was an awful day, having to tell our 2 little girls who literally howled with crying.  Something about those Labs..  I have such a soft spot for that breed.
Labs
I am looking for a pup to replace my chow chow who had to be put down last Thurs. He was 13 though and one of the best watch dogs ever. Now, I want something gentle.
Since when are CTs listed under labs?
This company is something else.  Maybe they would have more work if the editing staff could make up their minds.  For months I have been putting CT/PET scan results under "Imaging" with other places "Radiographs".  Was told by someone in QA it goes under labs?   Okay, my mother works for a mircobiology lab -- they test blood, urine and tissue samples.  Never have I heard of someone getting their CT scan from the lab!  The lab is not the source of radiographic data to my knowledge.  Did I miss something here?????????
I assigned single letters to very common labs SM
For instance, i is for calcium (i just because I wasn't already used it for abbreviations with low-range numbers). Calcium 10.3 would be i103. Creatinine 0.7 is e07, e used for the same reason. I like it.

10-20 red cells is 1020rc and 10 to 20 red cells is 1020rc', but I'm not crazy about it. The "tttrc" I used to use was just as basic but better; I just wanted a system that would be memorable and allow me to enter lots of values without conflicting with other abbreviations. Maybe someone will offer a good system so I can change without bothering to think about it. :)
I love my Electrolux, I am hard on Vacuums and I found Electrolux to be great, it sucks up everythin

Oh, I found it really creepy when you said you found the flowers not so skillfully arranged on your
steps, and from your own flower bed.  That's what I was worried about, having gone thru some psycho kids myself with my pups.  Someone's been in your yard and in your garden and at your door without your knowledge.  Its just creepy to me, and I'd still be very, very careful.  Especially valid sounded the other MTs warning you about potential fake molestation charges.  You just NEVER know nowadays, and these people have already turned on you big time once. Luckily (though I don't believe in luck), you had it on film to save yourself and your puppy.  You might not be that lucky next time, and the whole thing just sounds very unstable to me right now.  I know you feel sorry for the little girl, but probably the only time I have ever made BAD decisions regarding my life is when I felt sorry for someone, particularly kids.  My son even has an evil kid in his life, but one who has a million reasons for sympathy, and I was saying how we should "be bigger" than the situation and invite this kid over to play.  Thankfully, I regained my sanity long enough to remember - ever time I have done something like that on a personal basis for someone just because I feel sorry for them AFTER horrible behavior, it has always been a disaster... Be kind, but you don't have to risk your family again. Be kind from a distance.  Its sorry she went thru this horrible experience, but YOU didn't cause it, and its not really your problem.  But it could be your problem if this kid acts out in your life.  Know what I mean?
I think I found it, found multiple recipes with the same
exact ingredients so I figure this must be it.
Found it, Prolastin, also found

Saw him on CMT show with John Fogarty. Great, great singer with a neat personality and drop dead
gorgeous without seeming to know it.
Great post. I swear by both Advantage and Frontline Plus-- both work great! - sm
I don't know about "natural" approaches for the house. I have always used flea bombs in the past before the miracle of Advantage and Frontline changed my life. Have not had a flea problem at all since I began using those products about 10 years ago, dose all the dogs religiously once a month with the Frontline Plus except in Dec.-Feb. to save a few bucks and because the ground is generally frozen by then and no fleas are scurring about. -- Hope you get flea free soon.
Do you ever sit there with your headphones on
listening to a CD, maybe typing correspondence or message board posts, and just pretend to be working just so you can get a moment of peace and quiet without any interruptions?  I do.  I got some new CDs and am "finishing up my work right now."
headphones
www.transcriptiongear.com has them for 69.00 AND you can get an adapter so you can use them with the dictation system boxes.  As you probably know, you can't use stereo ones because you only get sound in one ear.  The adapter you can buy gives you sound in both ears.
Headphones
Check out Bose....they have some amazing headphones. They are sound deadening. I am not sure what they cost, though.
HEADPHONES
Hi, I use SONY MDR-CD380, about $45 to $50.  tried other SONYmodels and other brands, but found these the best.  provide them to all transcribers working for me.
Headphones
I have tried different headphones, but am currently using the headhone that came with the DAC phone.  I told my employer about the problem in the past and they sent me a new DAC phone.  I have had the same problem with the new phone as well.  I figure it must be something I am doing wrong, but I can't figure out what it is yet!
we HAD to use USED headphones
Where I used to work, if we desk shared we had to share headsets, even the kind that push inside your ears. That was only one of the problems with that hospital!

I have $20.00 Radio Shack wireless headphones that work wonderfully for me.
Headphones
I had noise cancelling ones but replacing the batteries was a pain and not really worth it. I just bought a pair I really like from Radio Shack and they are on sale this week half price. They are Koss - Sportclip design. What I was particularly looking for was a volume control up near the chest area. These are very lightweight and awesome sound.
headphones
got a pair from ebay, stethoscope style, love'em
headphones
Just make sure you take your old pair with you to compare the ends of the plugs. Some headphones have different plugs than others...
My dog ate my headphones!
Well, okay, he didn't exactly eat them, but he chewed them up pretty good. I had a set of Olympus, stethoscope style, and I loved them. I believe they cost in the neighborhood of about $45.00, and I am not willing to spend that again. I know, I know, careless is as careless does, or something like that. Anyway, I think I might try the cheap ear buds they mentioned below. I am currently using the ones that came with my Panasonic transcriber, but when I get the low-volume dictations that require me to turn up the volume full blast on the computer, the transcription module, and the equalizer attached to the headphones, I occasionally will have to press them down to my ears to hear some of what is said . . . what a pain. Sorry, I guess I decided to use your thread to vent a little, but I did love the Olympus headset *sigh*.
Headphones

I don't know if you've received any replies to this yet.  I'm still in MT school, but I recently got my headphones and love them.  They are the ones that look like a stethoscope.  I got them from transcriptiongear.com.  Hope this helps.

headphones
I use the headphones or ear buds, or whatever they call them that came with my iPod. They work great. I am sure that you can pick up somthing similar at Circuit City or Best Buy or even Radio Shack.
headphones
I got ones at Radio shack that have noise canceling and also have a volume on the headset control which I LOVE!
headphones
I bought ones from radio shack. I dont remember the exact price may be 30 or 40. They are great!!!
headphones
I love Radio Shack noise canceling. It has a volume control right on the wire. LOVE IT!
headphones
thank you for the tip. I'll look into it soon. So you too have to share working space with noisy people too huh? It can just be truly frustrating.

I have problems with my ears itching.  Has anyone had problems with this?  Also do you know where I can get the sponge coverings for Lanier headphones or what kind of headphones do you recommend?  Thanks!!

Headphones
Koss  DC/10 are good.
Headphones
Thank you all so much for the suggestions.  I'm trying the antiseptic in my ears.  I appreciate your help!!

The other place I like is Executive Communications in Ventura, California.  They are on the net, just Google for them.  I saw some at Costco Saturday and they were for ipods and other things, but could be used for PC too and probably a transcriber unit.  They were top of the line sound quality and I think they were $89.00, which my daughter said were a bargain.  You might need to buy an adaptor plug for a transcriber unit, but they sell those at Executive too.
headphones
I work at home with kids and although I work downstairs sometimes it is still noisy. I can't hear on my headphones if there is the slightest bit of loud noise or even my daughter talking and singing in the same room. My other problem is that my head is very small and my headphones do not want to stay on my head unless I have a bandana or hat on even at their smallest adjustment.

Anybody have a good set with good sound blockage and a small headsize?

Thanks in advance
I don't use headphones

I have Logitech speakers, which are fine.  Besides, I don't want to mess up my hearing...think about it.  Just my take on it.

To each his/her own, though.

Headphones
Do any of you guys' ears get really sore from your headphones?  My ears ache every day.  I sometimes have to take a break just to get my ears to stop hurting.  Is it my headphones you think?  What kind of headphones do ya'll use?
headphones

Which headphones does everyone like the most?  I currently have the stethascope style, which I really liked in the beginning, but now if I turn my head they cut out, so it's time to get something new.  Thanks for the feedback!

headphones
gave up my stethoscopes a long time ago in favor of stereo headphones. Also have a good noise cancelling set for dictators that whisper. These are real cheap at big lots but also several styles available at Wal-Mart (under $10) and I also saw some light noise-cancelling headsets there for about $20. Sound outperforms stetoscopes by about 2000%.
