I was misunderstanding that as an interpretation of it but..

I still have to go back to the BOS because, let's face it, that's what 99% of us are supposed to use as our rules, whether one agrees with it or not, and more than likely it is what will be used for QA.
"Though they represent a plural quantity, units of measure are collective singular nouns and take singular verbs." BOS, third edition, page 97. Since the OP wanted to know a QA answer, I think I'd stick with BOS.

Get back together - yes - Skanky? No, that's your interpretation

Funny how we can read the same thing and come up with a different interpretation.

I don't see the message "lie down and take it" but rather, "change is coming". The above idea that we have to change with the times is paramount but sometimes I think there are those who want to stop all change from occurring and that's just not realistic.

However, I think we do agree that there is change in the air and it's up to the individual to find the best way for them to adapt to change and still be of benefit to their employer and self.

it doesn't matter. next year it will be different but yet subject to interpretation.
Mixed Latin and English abbreviations "confuse" the health care worker. Doesn't compute. Next year it will change. Maybe too we can spell things phonetically for the healh care worker who is confused. The new spellings can bring in new revenue to AAMT.
Maybe there is a misunderstanding.

I wasn't complaining.  I simply posted my opinion to the poll, to which someone asked why I thought the economy wasn't so great.  I replied with facts:  The cost of food HAS gone up.  The cost of prescriptions HAS gone up.  The cost of gas HAS gone up.  The cost of medical insurance HAS gone up, and they were saying on the news (all stations) that consumers can expect up to 71% increase in heating bills this winter.  Yet more and more medical transcription companies are going VR and the MTs are taking cuts in pay.  Those are all facts that cannot be disputed.  The rent factor may not have increased everywhere, but in S. Fla. it has gone through the roof because of a housing shortage.

Why is it that someone (you?) can state that because unemployment has gone down the economy is so wonderful, but when I show that it isn't quite true, I'm complaining?   Does that mean that every time Bush gets on the TV and talks about all the problems in the Gulf Coast  or in the middle east he's complaining??  Since you keep adding to this string, are you complaining too?  I'm happy for ya that your bills haven't increased.   But, I don't quite believe you either.  Unless in the last 4 years you haven't bought any food, prescriptions, or gas, and unless you don't have health insurance, your costs have gone up too.  You may not be part of that 4.9% on unemployment, but your cost of living has increased.

Yes. I think there has been a misunderstanding. (SM)
What should NOT be posted here are other chat/posting forums for MTs. Other MT websites are not to be promoted.

Informational sites for drugs, terminology, etc., absolutely! Share away!
Maybe a misunderstanding?
I didn't say it's not worth it to me to make the effort. I'm just saying that we should ask for/demand in both our professional and our personal lives, to deal with people we can communicate with.
Misunderstanding?
I kinda got the feeling the OP was referring to the posters who try to tear other posters (ones who are happy with their employer, their job, offer positive suggestions, etc). If you read some of the threads, you'll see precisely what I'm referring to - pretty much comments which hold the sole purpose of belittling or humiliating other posters, or even straight out calling them liars, etc. It's disturbing, to say the least.

I don't think the OP meant everyone should pretend to be happy when they aren't or that someone shouldn't be able to vent if they need to. There's a huge difference between venting such as you have done and viciously attacking the character of another poster.

Anyone who needs to vent should be able to do so here, and should be able to expect some support and perhaps even some helpful advice. To me, one of the best features of this board is the ability to do just that - Vent, let off some steam, get some advice or at least a few shoulders to momentarily cry on, and then carry on.

I'm so sorry you're at such an unhappy place right now and hope things start to look better for you VERY soon. Venting such as you've done should always be encouraged. Sometimes we only have each other to vent to, and sometimes the anonymity of it makes it easier to do so. We're all in the same proverbial boat and should be able to turn to our fellow/sister MTs for encouragement.

Best of luck to you, and I truly hope things start getting brighter for you!!!
I think you are misunderstanding what
EMR is. We've had EMR for years in most hospitals and the bigger clinics. It just means the records are stored on computers where the physicians can access them from anywhere rather than having to have the paper chart. It has nothing to do with HOW the records get there in the first place. It doesn't mean the doctors will dictate directly onto the system with no editing, etc. I don't see this or VR as a threat because we all know it's impossible for doctors to do this without us correcting it & they certainly aren't going to want to waste their valuable time doing it either...
I think you are also misunderstanding
If you are working for an MT Service of course it is mandatory that you work more than 1 account.  The fact that you are so meticulous in producing a professional legal document is what is slowing you down of course, but that is a good thing!!  Now you just have to do that on other accounts as well when requested.  We all do.  You are building on your knowledge and skill level.  I was typing on 5 accounts at my last job.  You have to work where the work is needed and I don't see how you can **legally** tell your employer you do not want to do that.  If you stick with it, you will become faster - just make sure you stay accurate.  This is not abuse from your employer.  This is certainly expected of all MTs.
Wait, I think there is a misunderstanding ...
The company can "pay" on the 10th and 25th as expected.

When those funds become available to you depends on how often your bank updates its deposit files. Nowadays (yes, I know - I hate to use that word..lol), banks are in such competition that most build their deposite files at least once daily (first thing in the morning) and some twice daily (late evening as well).

MQ has the money there and your bank can "see" in their banking system the upcoming transaction as soon as it is transferred, which is usually 2-3 days ahead of the "pay date". Your bank must update its files for you to have that money accessible by ATM, debit card, or online banking. Often a bank will go ahead and cash your check at a teller's window when they can "see" the pending transaction...but until the files are built and filed, access to that deposit will not be available.

Call your bank and ask to talk to the bookkeeping department and have them tell you how often they build their deposit files. It shouldn't take more than about 1-1/2 hours once they build the files for you to have access to your money.
You are misunderstanding what a collective noun is.

"Some nouns refer to a group but are singular in form. These nouns are called collective nouns. In American usage, a collective noun takes a singular verb when it refers to the collection considered as a whole."

Your problem is you are not understanding what a collective noun is.  A collective nouns are a special class of nouns that name groups [things] composed of members [usually people].  Example:  Team, class, Army, etc.

Twenty units of Pitocin were given.  --- Still correct because units is not a collective noun.  If "unit" meant a group of units, then you be correct.  However, unit is singular and units means more than one unit.

I think maybe I am misunderstanding, but Arrendale is a software program
something like ChartScript, I thought.   Maybe I am wrong, but I can't see Giselle outsourcing to India or anywhere else, but who knows, maybe.   I have been wrong before.
no misunderstanding at all. you want things your way and you run crying to "mom" or authority
I don't really mind your posts, but what you are doing now makes me wonder about your sanity. It's like my kids when they don't get their way. They come crying to me and want me to intervene and they try to cause trouble for the person who won't give in. That's what you are doing. You lost me on this battle Dano.
You're misunderstanding how toll free call in
services work.  You can't just get some long distance service at 3 cents a minute. Where are the doctors supposed to leave their dictation?  We have software that answers, prompts for the dictator ID and password, then keypad functions the doctor uses to leave their dictation.  Then, those dictated files are provided to the transcription service via FTP.  So, our service, at 9 cents per minute is the cheapest on the market offering these features and we do not require a large amount of minutes per month like other toll free call in services do.
