I went the other way

My Dad was a real perfectionist who really did not know how to relax and enjoy being at home unless he was busy doing something worthwhile (all in the work category).  I was quite exhausted as a kid and just wanted some quiet, fun time.  I hated having 7 opinionated people all living (and fighting) in one house when I was a kid.  So I got married when I found a man who is very laid-back in most ways.

He is NOTHING like my dad, although this also means DH isn't fixing things around the house all the time.  But it's nice and quiet since we are too lazy to have kids.

We have a relaxing effect on each other.  He doesn't nitpick my every deed, and I snuggle with him and scratch his back like he likes.  We have few needs or expectations of each other.  We would drive most others crazy, but I think we are a good match.
