s
My most worn Stedman's is the Ortho & Rehab.
The binding is totally beat and I actually have pages starting to fall out...second to that would be the Cardiology and Pulmonary words.  Congratulations on your new gig!
I have a Stedman's Ortho & Rehab book too

I type strictly ortho reports and that book has helped tremendously!! They have other books for other specialties too. They are worth every penny!

I have Stedman's Ortho and Rehab Words electronic on

Get a Stedman's Ortho & Rehab word book, . . .
and you can check.  Put them into your word Expander correctly (capped or not), and you won't have to try to remember which tests are and aren't capped.  :)

Stedman's Orthopaedic & Rehab Words 5th Edition (bright green) includes chiropractic, occupational therapy, physical therapy, PODIATRIC, & Sports Medicine.
I think the Ortho and Rehab is the one I pick up the most as well.

Tessier's is great! Used in combo with the Sted's Ortho and you're good! nm

4th ed stedman's ortho book
is listed on ebay for 9.99, if anyone is interested.  I have 100% positive feedback rating, so you can bid with confidence.  "judymari"
Stedmans Ortho book shows
both on pagge 455, plantar flexion and then plantarflexion injury, plantarflexion-inversion test. Maybe it is supposed to be by context ????
Agreed--just bought my 2nd ortho book!

I actually bought it from somone on this board from the classified section who was getting out of transcription.  She sold me her fifth edition and I had either 3rd or 4th...and mine was absolutely beat--definitely my most used reference book.  She gave me a heck of a deal on that and that Surgical Equipment book...another lifesaver.

So, if you're looking for books, buy from someone on here before buying new new!

Also agree with one of those abbreviation books as well.  Another lifesaver if you've got an account where they want all abbreviations expanded or when you get to the final diagnosis part and you HAVE to expand them.

Think I found it: ortho/neuro words & phrases by ..
Health Professions Institute. Found it on a book site. The 1994 edition got a good review. The 2000 edition got a bad one. Anyone?
Stedmans Med $ Surgical Equip words, Path and Lab words, and Tessiers Surgical Word book (3rd
edition).  I never buy drug books anymore.  Waist of money in my opinion.  New drugs come out so often, it's best to use the web.
I have an ollllld Ortho word book circa 1995
that actually isn't too bad! I just got back into ortho and I need to update, but most of the basic anatomy terms don't really change, so I would think 2005 would work fine for you.
Can find lots of the Sted's books at www.half.com, too. Love 'em! nm

I love ortho and podiatry. To each their own =) nm

Searching, searching, name of ortho book w/stripe

I know I wrote it down twice off this site and cannot find it.  The ortho/neurology? book with the stripe on the cover?

Thanks in advance!

Two words - LOVE IT! sm
used to have cable - would go out here and there for a couple of hours, had a "bad hub" whatever that was at th box, but the last straw was when cable went down for 4 days- no work for 4 days!! They very grudgely gave me a "credit" for missing those 4 days of service. When FiOS came to town we signed on thisfast. Never have had a problem with FiOS - it is super fast, always "on", and cheaper than cable ... win/win/win situation for me!!
Don't you just love it when dictators make up words? .....
This doctor said, loud and clear, "meningismatic" for meningitic.  !!! This particular dictator is also constantly making up words.  It's actually kind of entertaining at times--only when it's obvious what he really means.  If not, and I have to leave a blank, I'm not exactly laughing......

Stedmans Med & Surgical Equip words and Tessiers Surgical Word Book (3rd Ed). I'd be lost
without them.

Little thing inside may be worn....sm
I wore out two foot pedals this way.  There is a protruding piece that touches something that makes it play.  I have used rubber bands to make it work.
Same here, I have a Logitech and the letters are worn off, SM
and that seems to happen to all my keyboards. I use canned air and that helps keep the keys loose. I hate having to break in a new keyboard, dont you?
Black is the color worn to funerals.

To wear black to a wedding is to imply that the marriage is doomed to fail or that you don't approve of the marriage.  You shouldn't wear white either as that's the bride's color.

Then again, what do I care?  Etiquette schmetiquette.  I never did like etiquette "rules" anyways.  Who makes up these things?  And why didn't I get contacted to vote on the rules?  It's after Labor Day, and I am still wearing my white shoes.  Silly Victorian traditions that make no sense at all.  As if we are somehow gauche or less of a person if we don't do what someone else tells us to do.

I've worn holes in my keys.

I found a keyboard that I liked and kept it until I was forced to trash it. Who needs letters anyway?

I'm tired. I'm worn out. I can't jump through the hoops anymore. Homelessness is

The creature comforts aren't all they are cracked up to be.  The stress of maintaining them and the repeated and repeated phone calls to keep them in working order or to even get hooked up what you ordered and paid for is mind boggling and frankly I DON'T WANT THE STUPID PHONE ANYMORE, OK!

Or the cable, or the DSL,  I don't want the electricity or the plumber who does half the job and never shows up for the rest of the job------so that the drywall man can come and fix the holes left in the way left by the $19,000 plumber.

The car is due its tune up in order to keep the warranty in place, but I don't have time because I have to type (and there's nothing to type most of the time but I must sit there) and the kids have dental appointments I already have begged off for.

There are teacher conferences I have to HAVE TO mind you take part in and then the after school activities to oooh-ahhh over as a parent or my child won't think I love her.

My husband wants (xxx) and I'm too tired to even care - wake me when it's over.

On PBS today I heard a letter read by a resident woman of New Orleans of the conditions there.  Did you know there were indians living in TEE PEES there?  They had been brought in on the promise of work, but the work never materialized, but they were living in TeePees right here in River City.

I find it strange that we can totally rebuild countries in 6 montsh hit by hurricanes and storms, and we can't get people a roof on their homes.  Only more plastic - make that half a plastic.  I wonder if our REBUILDING in these other countries is done as horribly as we are doing it here.

But back to me.  I long to live in the woods by the Interstate, under a lean-too and something to keep the snakes away from me when I sleep.  I have a little blue tin cup from the Wal-Mart to make my coffee over the campfire.  I'm ready.  I have already learned to eat COLD FOOD because I never have time to sit down at a cooked meal with my family.

I WANT OUT!

I've worn mine working for a year and haven't had a problem. .sm
