Not a Gumbie

I've been doing this long enough to expect some ups and downs, but when it is persistently consistently down, something else is going on.  Whether it's the economy, overseas outsourcing, overhiring, mismanagement of work flow, or the moon is in the 7th house, the result is the same, not enough work.

I'm just not going to sit around twiddling my thumbs waiting for an occasional crumb or spend 7 days a week trying to make up hours/lines.  When I dutifully reported no work again and then didn't hear from them, I turned off that computer and went to my other computer to start applying for other work in another field.

I can be patient and flexible to a point, but eventually it reaches a point of sitting on a cactus and howling.  If things don't change, it's up to me to make a change.
