Bio-Identical Hormone Therapy

Check out this site for natural hormone replacement.  www.womensinternational.com (There isn't anything international about this pharmacy - in Arizona).  Anyway, you can learn about natural hormones here, get referrals and books and just some really good information.

p.s.  I get my hormones through a naturopathic doc (ND), but some holistic docs (MD) give them out too.

My inhouse experience was almost identical! (nm)

Yep, Ax has great bennies.  DSG and Precyse have good benefits.  You probably won't find many companies who can match the price on those bennies at Ax though.

The account I was on did not have ESLs.  I just didn't like their platform.  It was slow.  Too, I didn't like to having to fill in demographic info, which was part of the account I was on.  Things may have changed, though, since I left.

Does Keystrokes offer bennies or are you an IC? Thank you again for your help and Merry Christmas to all!

Heartland Information Services, Spryance, Inc., Merge Written by News Editor
Wednesday, 15 November 2006
Combined Companies Create Premier Outsourced Transcription Provider Heartland Information Services has merged with Spryance, Inc., forming one of the premier offshore transcription providers in the United States. Spryance shareholders will fund the purchase of Heartland Information Services from HCR ManorCare. The new combined company will be marketed under the Heartland Information Services brand.

Headquartered in Boston, Spryance provides transcription service to more than 175 hospitals and clinics across the country, utilizing 1,200 MTs in India. Heartland’s corporate headquarters is located in Toledo, Ohio, with work centers in Bangalore and Delhi, India. By combining companies, the new Heartland will have over 2,500 medical transcriptionists providing service to over 200 hospital and clinical customers.

Dennis Paulik, General Manager of Heartland, will become the President and CEO of the new combined company. Raj Malhotra, CEO of Spryance, will become Chairman of the Board of the combined companies. Joining Mr. Malhotra on the board will be Gene Barduson, Chairman and CEO, Alteer, Inc., Dennis Byerly, former CEO Third Millennium Healthcare Systems, Inc., Mahendra Patel, formerly with DEC, David Beecken, Partner, Beecken Petty O’Keefe & Company, and Thomas Schleisinger, Partner, Beecken Petty O’Keefe & Company.

“Combining the two companies creates synergies that will add value for customers,” says Dennis Paulik, President and CEO of the new Heartland Information Services. “For example, Heartland provides industry-leading quality and customer support and Spryance provides capacity and scalability.”

“The Spryance investors, led by Beecken Petty O’Keefe & Company and International Finance Corporation, provide the financial strength and resources for the new Heartland to grow rapidly,” adds Mr. Malhotra, Heartland Information Services Chairman of the Board.

American Association for Medical Transcription, in association with Prometric, announced the Registered Medical Transcriptionist (RMT) credentialing exam – a newly developed global ‘level-1’ credential in the arena of Medical Transcription. This program is aimed at helping the existing talent pool to scale up and meet the global standards and quality benchmarks. THE TWO ORGANIZATIONS ALSO ANNOUNCED A SPECIAL 'INDIA PRICE' FOR AAMT'S EXISTING CERTIFIED MEDICAL TRANSCRIPTIONIST (CMT) EXAM (emphasis mine).

Medical Transcription is a booming industry with exponential growth prospects and opportunities for committed players. While globally the industry potential is around USD 30-33 billion, in India it is around USD 300 million. Currently, there are around 18,000 medical practitioners in the country and this is expected to almost double within the next 2-3 years.
Can SE's get bennies? I didn't think they could?!
That would be great!!
Thanks for your response, Bennies ...sm
rflmao! Okay, I did ask for your "dream job". How about if you get some of the above but not all. I too would have loved all of those bennies - but I'd settle for a few. Keep dreaming and let me know what is important. I will try to get a consensus of what is the most requested and see if it is at all possible. My contact has had a lot of interest in American transcriptionists, hooray! Now if they are only ready to pay a fair wage! We shall see. Thanks again!
I am an employee. I just found out that the new bennies sm
are better than ever including PTO and sick time, a vesting schedule for 401K match and two floating holidays. I have the insurance, which is good but expensive. I wish we had dental, but I am not sure if that is part of the new plan.

My neighbor also works for Keystrokes but as an IC. I think her rate of pay is higher but she does not need benefits as her husband has government benefits.
part time now makes 50K + bennies...sm
My friend just graduated 2 years ago with a BSN, is working 3-11 shift 32 hours per week, Med-Surg oncology has incredible benefits (any benefits are appealing to those of us who are self-employed) and is pulling in over $50K a year. She makes close to $35 an hour and this is at a small community hospital, not in Chicago.
You have provided that option already. (SM)
When you posted, you filled in your e-mail address in the e-mail field. It activates a Reply By E-Mail option for those who want to e-mail you. Your e-mail address will not be revealed even when they e-mail you. If you reply to the e-mails you receive, then your e-mail address will be revealed by your own reply.

Then quit already. MT has provided

no other job I could do where I could have made the money I am making without a college degree.  Yep, I started out with low pay.  Instead of whining about it, I got a lot of experience under my belt, worked in a hospital for quite a few years and learned MT inside and out, can transcribe any speciality and any type of report, and now I am reaping the benefits.  You reap what you sow.  Complaining never helped anyone get ahead.  Hard work and a willingness to do whatever it takes does.  I am living proof, as are many of my MT colleagues.  I was never one to complain, I just took what was available, worked hard and learned everything I could, and look for the next opportunity that offered more pay and through the years have gone from about $6 an hour to now a whole lot more.  I won't bother to say how much because you'd tell me I'm lying.  Fine with me if you don't believe me, but I now get 15 cpl (own accounts) and can transcribe 300+ lines per hour.  You do the math.  I didn't get here by whining about how bad I had it or how overworked and underpaid I was.  Even at $6 an hour I did my best and worked hard and I have been rewarded for that many times over.  I got valuable experience in those years working for a hospital for not much money.  I learned things I never could have learned working for a service.  Now it's paying off.

Some people are just not cut out to be MTs.  Maybe that's the case with some of you who are complaining.

Why not work fulltime at home for a hospital with bennies?
Or look into the state children's medical program. Check into foodstamps and utility assistance while you're at it. The states also usually have a program to enforce child support, which can't be arbitrarily reduced if someone just decides to be self-employed and hide their income one day.

As for the savings and retirement, relax, you'll get there. As for life insurance, you can get a term or universal policy cheap. I can relate about the job situation. I'm teetering on bankruptcy myself now because I lost my steady job in October and have had two other jobs with no work or lousy platforms since then. I keep waiting for the utility companies to shut everything off because I can't pay.

We'll survive. I can't wait for tax refund time myself. You'll survive, too. You can do this. The best part is that you can do this without his help, and your kids will love and respect you for being the responsible parent.
Maybe my thinking is off here but . . do if I was covered under my husband's bennies program I&#
I like working at home too much I guess - not really in a rut, just very, very comfy here and like being my own boss all day long. JMHO.
Were you being provided with feedback? If not, did you ask? How long did you
work for them?
If you work for MQ, how come they haven't provided

you with a foot pedal?  Ask and see if they'll send you one.

One day I had to go to my local MQ office to have them look at my computer, and on my way out, they handed me a foot pedal for the "new upcoming platform."

Then when I received my computer rental in the mail a couple of months later, they sent me another foot pedal (same as the first one).  A back up?

And finally, when they trained me for the new platform a couple of months ago, the booklets, some new headphones, and a NEW PEDAL came in a nice box to me!

So anyway, as an owner of three foot pedals free from MQ, give 'em a try.

absolutely true, provided

You're responsible with your money. But if you're one to spend carelessly, you're going to wish you had a credit card if you need some major car repairs or something of that nature.

So I suppose the real "need" is simply having available cash when you need it (not want it).

Don't get excited. You should have provided it to begin with. nm

I would use hyphens in the examples you provided. sm

I would put 32-year-old male, but no hyphen if it's something like *Patient is 32 years old.*  (Same with 11-pound weight loss vs pt has lost 11 pounds.)  I can't quote the rule on this offhand, but whatever the rule is, I personally I think the hyphens make it easier to read/understand.

Thanks. My company provided computer has a VPN and I can

My employer provided mine because I do QA as well..
I skimmed through it one day and highlighted only 5 sections or parts that would benefit anything...the rest I thought was a big waste of time and paper...
QA, $3000/mo hourly so get some overtime too, bennies paid, no complaints. nm

A few years ago, Atlanta in-house average was about $12-$15/hour, plus good bennies. nm

By the way, as of about 5 years ago, Wellstar was with a service.  They might not even have in-house MTs.  Hope so for  your sake :).

The hospital may also be a source of information on where you can get forms.  The POA is an actual legal document.  You could try to 'google' for free forms.  You may want to think about a general POA so you can handle her finances, also, in case she becomes totally incapacitated.  It makes a big difference in handling her affairs - without those papers, it makes it a lot harder to handle her affairs for her, including paying her bills and making decisions.  Don't wait - get it done now just in case things get worse.  Good luck and best wishes.

Despite the information provided, I know firsthand these can be modified with some engineering expertise and/or advice, which I would be happy to provide if you so desire......

No. It is not worth losing hospital-provided benefits.
You have the best of both worlds. Hang on to it while you can.

If you can get through the test files, then the sound quality on the actual company files is better. And, the dictation is never as bad as the test files, plus you have QA to help with hard blanks.
