Softflex Rocks!

Posted By: SadSally on 2007-09-06
In Reply to: For those who wear gloves - Could I get a hand count please?

Have worn them for many years and probably would not be transcribing today if not for them!   They last a very long time, are very comfortable and inexpensive (less than $30.00).  I never work at the computer without putting them on.

I highly recommend them !!   Good luck to you.

E-Bay rocks...
for physicians.
Tommy Lee Rocks
Yes he made the band and did not get kicked out, I think there will be other shows, and yes this is a promotion for his new album.
dumb as a box of rocks (don't ask me!)

Hillary Rocks!
Right on!
Chris rocks
I can't believe Bucky wasn't gone sooner. Lisa was definitely a better singer than he was, he was always off and he did that rapid blinking...I don't think he was talented at all.
The above post ROCKS!

re: Dancing Shoes and MQ Rocks
Yes there are MT's out there who only hae one account and never run out of work--none of these MT's work for the Amherst office, if they do, please feel free to prove me wrong. If there is an MT that works for the Amherst office and only has ONE account and they can make their lines and never run out of one--please let us know. Then we would know that their was hope for us. I agree with Dancing Shoes in the CA office, when our office closed 4 or 5 of our MT's were transferred to the CA MQ office, some went to the AZ MQ office, which has now closed, and those girls were transferred to the Dallas office, and some were transferred to the Ohio office, whcih according to one of the postings is being closed at the end of the year--all these MT's have plenty of work and only have one or two accounts and can make their production. My point is, if other offices can be run this way, why can't the Foxboro and Amherst offices be run the same way. Why do we need to be in 5 or 6 accounts, or as the MT that posted earlier today, she was in 8 accounts. Again, why can't all the offices be run the same. If there is not enough work to go around stop hiring more people--the accounts certainly can not be out of TAT when we are all out of work
Google Suggest Rocks!

I'll take a margarita on the rocks
with an extra shot of tequila and lime on the side...
MQ ROCKS??? Because a poster SAYS she was hired on for increase?
What about those of us who have been with MQ for YEARS and have seen revolving doors of bonused crooked CEOs come and go and have not been given an increase in pay for FIVE years?   MQ ROCKS or MQ is on the ROCKS?    If this is what it takes to please you, an anonymous poster and empty promises from the lastest CEO what lowered expectations from a company you must have.  As for me, I expect more and will MQ Rock when it affects the MAJORITY of the hardworking MQMTs.
Netflix rocks, goodbye cable
I just signed on with them so figure there is no need for cable.  Rather than zoning out on whatever garbage they throw at me, I can pick and choose what I want, set aside time for it but not get lost in t.v. so I can get things done and maybe do more productive or creative things with my time. I feel like such a zombie sometimes with the buzz of all these reality shows, its making me crazy, i'm addicted!
SoftFlex here.
Great work gloves.

Softflex gloves work great for this: http://softflex.com/

My brand is SoftFlex, but if you use
a straight keyboard, there is a heated keyboard you could get. Or put a heating pad in your lap. http://www.x-tremegeek.com/templates/searchdetail.asp?productID=10313&sk=MX51419
You might try SoftFlex gloves.
I think they are only $25.00 a pair, and you can buy them on line. It made the tingling in the heels of my hands go away, which was not actually carpal tunnel, but just irritation of the medial nerve from pressure. It was worse in my mouse hand because of the way that hand rests on the heel more.
SoftFlex for 10+ years
On my second pair in over 10 years. I wear them all the time. I often forget I have them on and find myself still wearing them hours after I've stopped working!

Never had carpal tunnel syndrome, but my hands would just ache from typing too much. The SoftFelx gloves stop that from happening.
I love my old softflex...
and need a new pair, I even turned them inside out and switched hands, ha-ha. Great padding on the wrists. If I forget to put them on, I notice it very quickly. I'll even forget I have them on sometimes and go out to the kitchen and nearly get them wet in the sink before I realize it, they feel part of me. Well worth the money, think I'll get me a new pair for my birthday.
I miss MT50 too. She rocks with her vast pool of knowledge.
MT50, please, please, please...come back. You are missed.
Yeah, he rocks alright..... the cradle! He is the epitomy of a dirty old man. Blech!

SoftFlex computer gloves help me. (sm)
You can order them on-line. I think part of the reason our hands get cold is because our hands are a little higher than our elbows, so the blood doesn't circulate very well. I have Raynaud's, so I am very conscious of cold hands. You can't type as fast when they are cold. If you have a heating pad, you can put it on your lap and maybe it will warm up your arms and help your hands. That's what my dad's secretary used to do, and I used to do it before I got my gloves. Also, beware of a desk that sits up against a window - the cold air will shoot across the desk and end up on your hands. Brrrrrr!
Softflex Computer Gloves

Has anyone tried the Softflex Computer Gloves lately?  I am thinking of ordering some.  I have some computer gloves bought locally, but they have Latex in them, and I think the Softflex might be Latex free...?

Happy Saturday!

SoftFlex is my brand of glove.
Putting a heating pad on your lap is another idea, though it heats your arms before your hands. If you sit near a window, a cold draft can cross your desk and dump right onto your hands, so winterizing windows or moving your desk away can help that.

DH enjoys the fact I have cold hands. He claims that every time I touch him I say, "You're warm!" and then I hold his hand or scratch his back because he's so delightfully warm. So he benefits from my little problem. :op

I use SoftFlex computer gloves

I love my SoftFlex gloves!

Softflex gloves are awesome
I have used them for many years, and if I try typing without them, I can feel it within 15 minutes.

They are very reasonably priced ($24-25), and mine last at least 1-2 years of nearly daily use.

There is no doubt in my mind these are why I am still able to transcribe; sounds dramatic but it's true.

Never used the other ones.

Good luck to you!
Love my SoftFlex gloves!
I have DE Quervain tenosynovitis and would not be able to transcribe without my SoftFlex gloves. They are extremely comfortable and have kept my wrists pain free for years without cortisone injections. They are well worth the price!
Love my softflex gloves
I'm not sure exactly what the smartgloves are, but I did try gloves my local drug store.  They were very heavy compared to the softflex and actually made my wrists hurt more.  I use my softflex gloves everyday and can't imagine typing without them.  Give 'em a try - can't beat the price!
I use Softflex gloves .. can't work w/o them
these are less than 30.00 and a pair lasts me at least 2 years ... Google Softflex ..

good luck to you ...
Just bought some new softflex gloves
I don't remember an adjustment period. My first pair was given to me on the job years ago and I didn't use them immediately and stored them away. Then I took them out one day and just started using them. I love them and will forget I have them on sometimes. I debated about trying the handeze but was afraid to. Might try them next time since they are less expensive than softflex. (Actually, looks to me like a crafty type person could make a pair of new gloves using an old pair for a pattern with some stretchy material and heavy rubber cut into bands and sewn in tight; the softflex ones are a very simple design, actually. Just a thought.
My SoftFlex gloves say they are nylon and Lycra. (sm)
I love them. They keep hands warm in the winter and they protect your medial nerve when you rest the heel of your hand. I no longer get that burning sensation in my palm since using them.
Love my Softflex computer gloves
Yes. I would highly recommend using Softflex gloves. Been using them for years and they work wonders for me so far as prevention of carpal tunnel syndrome and other hand/wrist problems. Wouldn't be caught transcribing without out them!
SoftFlex gloves come highly recommended
And a lumbar support too!!
I use SoftFlex gloves to keep hands warm, and I have Raynaud's. (nm)

Smart gloves vs. Softflex gloves - Advice
Anyone use these for typing?  Do you still have enough range of motion?  I am struggling and have tried to type with my braces on but of course I can't.  Any advice would be great!!  Thanks.
