Hurting yourself...
Hello, and I'm sorry you had to experience whatever awful trauma you did.

I had a friend who used to do the same thing. Lithium was her saving grace, as well as understanding from her friends and family, and a lot of counseling.

I've posted my email if it helps and you care to use it, but you probably also need medical attention, as well as counseling. If I can help in any way, please write. I don't hurt myself, at least not in that way, but I can relate to abuse and feeling self destructive. I also know that you can move on and create a much better life for yourself!

I'm no counselor, but I can be a friend if you need one.

Please take care and understand that there are some pretty sick puppies out there, and IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT. You CAN experience the feelings without the physical pain you inflict upon yourself. It's actually rather common for us survivors to take our frustrations and pain out on ourselves, but we are NOT the guilty parties here.

Obviously, something triggers this and you need to get to the root of the problem with professional help, as well as help from anyone that will listen at this point. I would be more than happy to listen. Just please think of yourself and the fact that you are a unique creation of the maker, and the fact that you do not deserve the guilt/and/or pain you are feeling when you get the urge to do this. You are placing blame in the wrong place!
But you know, they are only hurting themselves (sm)
and I hope you are able to let it go and not let it hurt you any longer. Count it as a blessing that you are not around that kind of poison anymore; eventually it infects even the best-minded of persons, being around that kind of atmosphere.

I would add also that I personally think sometimes the good girls get the shaft because the supes are afraid of the bad girls litigating in revenge. If you can't dot all your i's and cross all your t's, that kind of person will string you up by your heels.
Hurting the kids...
You say they are not being hurt physically, but they most definitely are emotionally; they are living with an alcoholic and although the bruises and pain are not seen on the outside, they exist on the inside.

I grew up with an alcoholic father who to this day still drinks! I am now a grown woman of 38, but I still live with the repercussions of being a child of an alcoholic. I have had problems with relationships, etc., I know in part to growing up in a home such as this. I am responsible for my own choices now and have gone through counseling, but I wish as a child my family would have followed through and helped me and my brother when we were little. Instead, they stood idly by and watched the chaos unfold.

Please, do what is best for those kids! They did not ask for this and should not have to suffer the consequences. And please ask your BIL to seek help as soon as possible; this will affect his health severely as he ages. The rest is in God's hands.

God bless!

thumbs hurting
Anybody have a problem with just their thumbs hurting after a full day's work?  It is starting to become more chronic with me and just wondering if anyone else has it and what to do about it.  Figure just an anti-inflammatory should help but which one?
They think they're hurting the ex-wife, so they can't see that
they're actually hurting their kids.
Ankles hurting.. any ideas
Having lots of problems with both my ankles, right on the outer ankle bone and across top of foot.. bilat.  Try switching legs when using pedal, propping up leg,  frequent stretching, etc. and of course I live on Ibuprofen..  Just wondering if anyone else has this problem, and if they have modified how they use their footpedal, placing it on an angle, using underdesk foot rest, or if there is any brand of footpedal that might be easier on the feet. Used to have wrist problems and changed to ergonomic keyboard and improved 90%.. any ideas for the feet/ankles?
If this stops hurting so much with pressure or elevation, you have a bleed, honey.

not so good I'm afraid. ovarian cyst really hurting <>. hopefully will get better. nm
.
DANSKOS, but when any part of my legs starts hurting, I immediately do several leg stretches
fixes them right away. One thing though, you have to get a pair of really good shoes now - my daughter-in-law got me a pair of Danskos because she wears them (on her feet all day as an ICU nurse) - that was five years ago - they made a tremendous difference and now I wouldn't wear any others. There are other good shoes out there and you DO have to pay for them, but it's worth it.

My problem now is my back up between the shoulder blades - the only thing that helps there is to stop typing and apply heat. Right elbow is usually achy too, but that goes away when I rest it.

Wish I had a hot tub.

Good luck to you.
wow, I hadn't heard of anyone getting a pay cut for
x
I hadn't even thought of that!
I'm going to call her tonight. Thanks.
I hadn't heard of her either ...
I'll try to Google her (gee, that sounds awful LOL). My roomie and I are going to a Joyce Meyer event in June, we can't wait!
Hadn't put it into that perspective but sm
Mr. and Mrs. Cooke were HORRIBLE.

They didn't know even the basic stuff about ranching, even though they were all given instructions/training before they were put on the ranch.

I don't blame the cowboys in the way they left at all.

Mrs. Cooke was the one stirring up trouble, NOT Maura. There was a lot of double talking going on and it wasn't the cowboys. The cowboys worked for them, they weren't their slaves.

So the cowboys didn't round up the goats a couple times. Big whoop. Who in their right mind would leave food and dirty dishes out for EIGHT DAYS after a party??

Horse manure wasn't the only thing attracting the millions of flies. ICK!
Hmm. I hadn't thought about that. Thanks
I can see I need to dig a little deeper as to what I need!
No I hadn't heard of them...sm
The only thing I am familiar with is the Expanders such as Smartype which has a word completion aspect to it. I am not familiar with those you mentioned. Something to look into I guess.
Ooooh! I hadn't thought of that!
But unfortunately, nothing anyone says is going to change their ways.
hadn't thought of that either! Good for you! nm
nm
Maybe so. I hadn't heard it in a long time, but
x
Oh, I hope you''re right. Hadn't heard it yet.
These kind of stories just wrench at my heart.   I think I might have seen that little white dog trying to get on a bus when it was happening.  I hadn't seen the little boy, but that just stayed with me.  I hope they can all be reunited with their families.
Thanks for the reply. I hadn't assumed anything, just asked. nm
X
No, I hadn't thought of this. How does a person break into this?
Would this be stuff that was done by voice recognition and then needs a human to screen through it?  Do most companies have these types of jobs?
Aw, you don't have to be a "pothead" to smoke pot at one concert. I hadn't smoked for 30
and haven't since, but they passed joints around at that concert and I toked, and it was fun. My brain is far from lame. :)
Glad someone found humor in that question because I hadn't....until now)

I hadn't heard about a weight "rule" either...interesting

I can't remember where I heard the 6 month thing at the moment.  I don't know if all the SPCAs are the same, but at this one you can adopt a cat for $50, but that includes at least some shots, "fixing" if you go to one of their participating vets, and a micro chip.

How astute to check the turnover time, hadn't thought
of that. But, you're right, no way that's a coincidence, and your surety on this is confirmation. I'm sorry for you--that's a huge decrease in your lines. Good luck in your search for something better.
Oh Yeah, me too! I love the Queen! I hadn't thought of her, but she'd be great. nm
x
me too - once in awhile
But I really like this board much better.
We had them for awhile - sm

It was a high-deductible ($5,000) "emergency" policy that never did pay out a dime on any of our claims - after one trip to the emergency room to the tune of $1,200 we decided that was not the best form of health insurance for our family.  We are now with Humana with a more realistic $1,000 deductible.

this has been around for awhile - sm
A lot of states will not allow this. New York is one of them. Some of the ones I work on require me to save all tapes in case there is a descrepancy in what was transcribed and what was said.
i did that awhile
but one machine belonged to the company and i didn't want that conflict, so i had the tech install DQS on my personal machine for the 2nd company; he was able to copy my Expanders which helped tremendously. Of note however, i would have never thought it possible, but when i finally went with a company that had a different platform, they were STILL able to convert my DQS expanders to their own...so don't feel locked into one company because of time invested in expanders!
I would keep the IC job for awhile
I would keep the IC job for awhile, because who knows for sure how this "highly respected national" will work out? You could find you hate some aspect of it.
Oh believe me I'm gone, but there were - for awhile - sm
other good things about the company. In the last couple of months, however, there are some things that have happened that now make every little thing a PIA and I'm done. I just want my money without having to wait out till the next paycheck, especially since I will be quitting on the spot. You don't have to berate me - I've been doing that to myself all along! But, with the way the MT field is these days, a job is a job and it was consistent without work slowdown or stoppage.
Yes, once in awhile
I somehow get it into OVR. Thank goodness I know what has happened. And thank God for ctrl+z, because I have accidentally deleted stuff I needed many times! (You can use CTRL+Y to take it away again too!)

Looks like I am using all the quick keys you do ... any others used out there? Thanks!
Been away for awhile but VR-MT
said it all. I also average over $20+ an hour. I really love it because as the above stated, the ESLs are picked up easily and I don’t have to strain my ears because VR gets most of what they are saying.
I guess we'll stay home and eat Ramen. Hadn't though about food going up too.
x
here's what we did -takes awhile, but
if you have a video camera, tape every car that stops at his place and any transactions you might see (you do not have to be outside to do this - through a crack in the curtains/blinds works) take the tape to the cops - they will handle it. Or maybe they already have him set up on a sting....or are on the take. Where do you live city/state-wise?
He laid down for awhile, but he just did not seem sm

He laid down for awhile, but he just did not seem to be able to navigate or walk because of the dizziness

HELP PLEASE !!!  I can never get this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

I was on PeaceHealth for awhile SM

For the most part, it was a very easy account.  There were a few dictators from you know where (like anywhere).  Just ask for several samples from each of those docs.  If you call the people working in the evenings, they were always very helpful when I needed a sample and would fax it on over.  The QA ladies are really great and very helpful, so do not by shy about asking them questions.  They know those few dictators are horrible and know most people have a terrible time with them.  I think you'll like the account.  If you go to the PeaceHealth website that have a really great physician directory.

Good luck to you!

Chickadee

It's been awhile, but can the help file or
associated paperwork with the softwork help with basic and more complicated questions? I seem to remember that their customer support was pretty good, too.
I get one every once in awhile that sounds as if

he has a mouth full of thumb tacks.  If that isn't bad enough, his grammar is horrid.  He says "patient doesn't have no swelling."

Geesh.

It's be awhile since using my C-phone,
I think there is a memory chip that wears out after awhile. I had a C-phone but I had to reprogram every time I unplugged it and I think this is what I was told. Hope this helps....
I have been with them awhile now and they are great...

but have no idea what they have to offer newbies...just have patience and stay strong, you will find the right fit.

GOOD LUCK!

It takes awhile...
When I was facing foreclosure it took them over a year to send the vacate letter...I filed for bankruptcy and the bankruptcy was long over before I got the letter.
A pregnant women not supposed to eat lobster or shellfish? I hadn't heard this and I was curious
x
My favorite, but I'm stealing this one from awhile ago
You do so many ESL's you can carry on a conversation with clerks at any 7-11
Hat's off to you too!!! It's nice to be recognized every once in awhile!
You're right. All of us deserve more recognition and MORE PAY! Thanks for the nice post, and I hope you are having a great MT Week as well.
yes, and I found it really helped for awhile sm
then I hit some life situations where I just could not cope. My doctor put me on Lexapro, and it was a life saver. If your depression is mild, 5HTP is a really good start. St. John's Wort barely took the edge off for me, but the 5HTP was quite good.
I have been trying to locate info on this for awhile...sm
I always get annoyed because I have partial hearing loss and use closed captioning and the spelling is HORRENDOUS. I always said I want to transcribe that stuff!! Please share info if you can!!
There was a post here awhile back about sm

someone using a heated keyboard -- that might help.  I have used the typing gloves before when my hands/wrists were flaring up, but I generally found they slowed me down a bit.  However, if your fingers and hands are cold and stiff, that slows you down too, so it might be worth it.  Hand-Eze is the only brand name I can think of, but I am sure there are lots of others to choose from.  You can usually find them at places that sell craft supplies, maybe a little less expensive than the sites on the web.  Good luck.

Argh...I was there for awhile and no one showed up
so I left. Please post a new time so I can join. I was really looking forward to it. Tonight works for me.
I totally can relate and it does happen and will for awhile.
I lost my dad, going on 6 years now and still have my moments. I can assure you that they will get farther and farther apart as you go through the normal grieving process. Another close relative also passed away last year and I'm still going through the same thing. I'm afraid if you put your pictures away, that you'll grieve more from missing him so badly, at least that's how I'd feel, so my pictures are here on my desk and that's where they will stay.

There'll always be something that triggers the loss that you feel but after awhile it just won't hurt so bad. I remember walking through a craft fair and seeing something that reminded me of my MIL and looked over at my husband just to see that he had the same reaction I did when we passed that item. It's really odd how certain things trigger our feelings of loss.

When you look at the pictures, try to think of some of the good times that you and he shared, since you were so close. As you remember more and more of the good things, you'll hurt a little less and if after a time that does not help, then you should see outside help. Yes, there are times you'll still cry, but it won't last as long as before. The grieving process is different for every person, but I do believe what you're going through sounds normal to me.
