That is a luxury we don't all have

But we don't all have that luxury.  My parents are dead and we move often, so don't have any friends to watch my kids for me.  You are one of the very few, lucky ones.

And even if there's a smidgeon of wiggle room while agreeing on a starting wage at a new employer, it's usually only a percentage of a PENNY. On a wage that is already disproportionately low for the amount of skill required. And you think 'forcing' minimum wage is wrong? Why? If it were enforced, some of us might actually be able to MAKE minimum wage.

And mandatory cost-of-living increases need to be in place for the MTSO industry, as well, because they've been taking advantage of the lack of any kind of enforcement of it in this particular business, and have been cheating their employees for far, far too long. If they won't take the initiative to be fair, responsible, and above-board in the way they deal with their their clients, and even more so with their employees' wages then yes, at this point I'd rather the government stepped in than have to transition to burger-flipper at Mickey-D's.
Nope. We Don't Get That Luxury
We are the LAST line of defense for the company. We can not ask others to listen to our report since we are holding the soundfile.

You should really stop slamming QA since you obviously know pitifully little about what the job entails.

We can't all afford the luxury of "Finding another job"
It isn't nearly as easy to up and quit a job as you make it sound.  What about health coverage?  Most of us have children or medical conditions and need our insurance coverage.  When you start a new job, you have to wait usually 90 days before health care will kick in and, in some cases, if you have a pre-existing condition, they won't cover you.  That is why a lot of us stay.  MQ is very closed in the communication department, so this is our only means of communicating with each other.  And it doesn't help to get bashed by our fellow MTs.  We could use a little patience and little sympathy from our brother and sister MTs.  So you have to scroll down past our remarks, you could be in our shoes and that is much worse.  So next time you want to bash MQers, think about if the shoe was on the other foot.
Wish I had that luxury! Every single one of the reports
Interesting (except op notes)? YES.

Able to sustain life at $6/hour? NUH-UH.
I want the Hyundai Santa Fe. Luxury and comfort
for a SUV. Rent one for a day or so before you buy, that way you can really tell if you like it. We usually rent something that we're thinking of buying when we go on vacation.
Yes, instead of healthcare, a luxury industry, one with lots SM
of money to throw around. Just a few weeks ago, there were a whole lot of them seling overpriced goods to people happy to be taken to the cleaners. For the next year or so, though, until those're back to normal, I'd check out government contractors, including war profiteers. Seriously. Many of them are making enormous profit margins on contracts that still have years to run.
And plenty of them were carting plasma TVs and luxury items too.

Luxury? I can't imagine that! LOL As a woman who LOVES to try different colors
with the changing of the seasons, I know that wouldn't be for me at all! I would hate it after only a couple of weeks or so...
