I was working fulltime outside the home at the time, and he had several weeks off in between contracts.  I didn't like it one bit.  Control issues, I guess.  He does things differently than I do.  He's more lenient with the kids, too.  He doesn't know my reasons for certain things, like I don't let my youngest kid play over at his friend's house because of certain things that kid's older siblings do to them there.  I just like to be the Mom and homemaker. DH gets bored easily, so I came home to the carpets ripped out, the furniture rearranged, and other drastic things done around the house.  I'm a planner and need to adjust to "change".  He's impulsive, so BAM! He just does things.  He moves things in a big way, while I get rid of clutter and organize.  We try to balance each other out.  His cooking and cleaning skills improved.  He also appreciated what I had been doing around the house and with the kids for 12+ years while he worked.  Give it a try.  You two might like it.  Me, not so much.
