Well, I was

born in Maine and when I had just turned 13 we moved to North Carolina. Through the years I have gotten to go back and visit every now and then and have really enjoyed it becuase even though I now have a southern accent, Maine is still my true home. Last summer, my mom, step-dad, sister, son, and me drove (yes...1,000 miles) to Lake Sebec in Maine. We rented a camp on the water for a week and a half. My whole family came to visit off and on during that time (and I have a HUGE family up there). When we drove up we drove my step-dad's truck and packed all our clothes and stuff in those big rubbermaid containers so if it rained they wouldn't get wet. We pulled a trailer beind us with two four wheelers. We rode those four wheelers everywhere. We rented a pontoon boat and went from one end of the lake to the other. We had fresh Maine lobster. We drove to the town that I grew up in and looked at the house that my mom and me lived in. We also went to the town that my mom and her sisters and brothers grew up in and looked at the house they lived in. It was very neat. Above all I was glad that my son, who is 7, got to meet his extended family. He also got to leave the country as we took a drive into Canada and saw the worlds longest covered bridge.

We are planning to go back this summer and I can't wait!
