Why are you generalizing?

In Reply to: I don't look at edited reports anymore. Not only do - the QA people mess up - (S/M)

Yes, there are QA out there who should not have that job.

Yes, there are MTs out there who should not get near a computer.

But to say EVERYONE in those positions is lazy, anal, nasty, stupid (and any other horrible word you can think of ) is WRONG.

I take pride in my QA work.  I feel I am here to help and to guide the MT--not to berate her or dispute every comma in the report.  If I PERSONALLY, cannot document something I feel is questionable, I leave a blank and a letter for both the MT and the client.  I PERSONALLY do not indiscriminately mark my personal preferences all over the report (i.e., disk/disc).  I PERSONALLY go with the client profile/standards and/or what is generally acceptable by the employer.  I PERSONALLY do not leave scathing or condescending messages for the MTs.

I have worked hard at my QA position after being an MT for over 25 years.  I document everying, research everything, and will not put the MT through any unnecessary grief--I realize it is hard enough to type the garbage they are getting.  I am here to guide, not to torture.

There are horrible MTs out there, too--but do I put you all in one basket?

Thanks a lot.  I appreciate you sharing your feelings, as I know you have dealt with every single QA on the planet earth and you personally know they are all horrible.

I will continue to do as I always have--take my job seriously, be professional, look at each MT individually and not make broad-based unkind comments such as yours.

Have a great day.

Over-generalizing a bit, perhaps? SM
I know several men who hunt. Not a mullet in sight. They are kind and responsible men (and yes, many women) who use the meat they hunt. They will also stop to put an injured deer out of its misery.

There are VERY FEW predators in many areas (even the lightly populated ones) to balance things out. I, for one, think hunting is a FAR more humane alternative to starving deer populations and increased car accidents.

On another note - Why is name-calling the first stop in argument or disagreement? Is there no way to have a discussion without calling someone a name or being disparaging?
sorry for generalizing...
this for that...

that's why we have an accountant.
That's just it. You're generalizing because there are
subcontractors working for you that you evidently have issues with.  I am an independent contractor, yes, but this is my own account.  It is the dictators that expect me to be at their beck and call 24/7/365.  I said nothing about working for an MTSO, so I don't know why you're defending yourself.  Can't two MTs vent about having to cancel personal plans yet again without getting an arse chewing over some other MTSO's irresponsible "help"?
