I love my Dyson too. Best I have ever used!

I LOVE my Dyson vac
We have a dog so we got the Dyson Animal vac. You wouldn't believe how much dirt & hair it sucks out of the carpet. Well worth the $500-600 IMO.
Dyson 4 me
I recently bought a new Dyson from Best Buy and absolutely love it! I had a Fantom before, and it was much heavier and I kept getting it jammed.
Dyson
I am surprised you had trouble with it picking up stones/pebbles. We have lots of sand here in North Carolina where I live. I mean, lots, it is basically in all the ground around here and tracks in every day, in the house and in the vehicles. It does a very good job cleaning that up as I have a dark rug that I vacuum on a near daily basis. Sorry it didn't work for you. I have the yellow one. I think the purple one may be geared for actual animal hair, but so far I have not had any trouble with the one I have.
Dyson
I absolutely love my Dyson!  There was a time though when I first got it that I accidentally had it on Hard Floor Cleaning instead of Carpet Cleaning and I was disappointed because I thought it wasn't picking up from the carpet as well, but then I realized I had it on Floor Cleaning instead -- and when I switched it back to Carpet Cleaning, it worked wonderfully!  I am absolutely amazed how well it picks up debris from even my oriental rugs -- and some are hard to clean -- things stick to them easily!  I'm surprised you had problems moving it around.  I had a Fantom Thunder before this, and THAT was awful wrestling with.  I think the Dyson is much lighter and easier to maneuver.
Not Jo, but I own a Dyson and have shih tzu
I have had 4 shih tzu and they just do not shed. I have never seen a shih tzu shed, but either way, they do romp on a wool carpet and the carpet gets balls on it and the wool will shed. I got the pet Dyson and it gets deep into the carpet. It is worth every cent of the money. I had a Fantom and the Fantom did nothing!! That's the difference. I sold my Fantom for almost nothing because that is what it was worth to me. The Dyson is top dog with me!
How does Dyson work on
it scratch the finish?  Is there a separate attachment?
I was able to use a Dyson for about a week,
and I didn't like it at all. Wasn't picking up sand/pebbles well, and was cumbersome to use. I so wanted to like it, so I could feel good investing in one.

Glad it works for you, though!
I adore my Dyson. Will never buy another brand. sm
It runs circles around any other vacuum I've ever used (and I feel like I've tried them all).
My sister swears by her Dyson. Costly, 400+, but will last.

The Dyson...it's very expensive, but it's the best vacuum you'll ever own!

Consumer Reports did not give the best rating to Dyson....
which surprised me.  The top were Sears, which also surprised me.  I just recently got the Sears bagless with HEPA filter for about $300 and I am EXTREMELY pleased with it.  I could check on the model # if interested.
Very nice features, compared and love it.
//
I also love to get nice body lotion
or bubble bath or great smelling candles are always good.
I love getting really nice picture frames.

My step-mom just got into gardening, so for her birthday I got her a plant encyclopedia that has a picture and description of hundreds of plants.  She loved it!  My best friend bathes in perfume, and she loves getting different scents.

Also, Target has some games that I would absolutely love.  I think it's Monopoly, chess, or a dart board, and they are encased in really nice wood boxes.  If your sisters have families and like to play games, those would be perfect to give as a joint gift for the entire family.

That sounds so nice. I'd love to live the simple life again. nm

Love giving & getting a baby monitor, sun shades for the car, and definitely something nice for

How nice is this keyboard? Nice light touch?
I have a regular Microsoft ergonomic one now but I'm thinking I should probably get a replacement and use mine as a backup.
I was nice today, and people were nice to me.
If you steer away from the nastiness, there are a few nice and encouraging posts in there.
love, love, love the show. hate american idol. this show is for real.
the only reason i entertained watching it was because of mark burnett and as usual he has such genious casting and editing. btw, don't know who anything about "metal" music but these performers make me like it. love marty and jd as performers. HATE JESSICA. susie is so nice and so emotional. it seems they all support each other and enjoy each others skills. regarding ty and bob marley, ty was excellent but he also lucked out on the song! bob marley was genious too and his music is very easy to listen to. i don't like 3/4 of what the others are given to sing but their performances make me love the music. dave navarro shines on this show, very gracious for the most part and letting the contestants down easy when they have to leave. he was great last night with brandon (?). sweet, sweet show. i am so impressed with everyone involved.
Yep that's it, 4000. Love, love love the zoom
But I feel like a dork typing...every time I try to type But it is coming out as Nut!
I love it too - love doing my nails 5 hours a day and staying awake

Love NOT getting paid while sitting doing my nails too.  It's a real turn on.

I tell all my friends to try it -- sit in front of your computer while you have no money to pay your rent and instead do your nails, you get a real buzz down in the pit of your stomach.

Also LOVE LOVE ESCRIPTION and make good money but...
Can I ask how you sit there for 8 hours. Lately, I'm having a motivation problem. When I focus, I can rack up the lines, but lately, I get so easily distracted. My mind wanders and I struggle to get my lines. Any tips on how you stay productive who do you work for?? I work for Transcend.
People either love it or hate it. I personally love it
but I know a lot of people say you cannot make any money on it and will not work on it. I do okay. I'm obviously not getting rich but I am making a living. I found it easier than Dictaphone and faster such in downloading and uploading job and you only have to log on one system and not like Dictaphone where you have to log onto the VPN and then log onto the program. It's always worth a try, but yes, the biggest complaint I hear is that no one can make a living and the cpl isn't that great.
I went back in house and love it. I love not being
secluded. I was working in my PJs, less organized and feel much better now that I get up and dress for work and see people (even those in traffic aren't so bad anymore). I find that I have more of a life now, and my family says that I spend more time with them now.

Working at home served its purpose for a long time; I was ready to go out into the world again now that I have no little ones at home.
BD WONG! I love him! I love all CSI and Law and Orders!
I am so addicted. I actually schedule my job and family around the shows LOL.
Love love love my chair
The arms can be lowered so they won't be in your way, I don't know about the tilt limiter. But I bought my off ebay about 6 years ago and can't do without it. No I do not think you can find another chair that even compares to the aeron, changed my working life completely, no sore back or butt. You won't regret it, but you will if you go for a cheap imitation.
LOL. I love it. I also love the song sm
I wouldn't take nothing for my journey now. Miss the Happy Goodmans!
Repeat after me: I love my job, I love my job. :) nm

You can love a job and still love being home! sm

I got into medical transcription for many reasons.  Yes, one was that I wanted to be home with my children, another was that I wanted to be in the medical field, and yet another was this just fits me.  Medical terminology and grammar are two things that have always come easily to me.  So, this fits.  I can work early, early mornings and late nights when they are asleep.  Also during afternoon naps.  Yeah, doesn't leave a heck of a lot of time for myself, but THAT is a sacrifice I am willing to make, leaving my kids for someone else to raise/care for all day wasn't.

I do not love money but I love what it can buy
for me. I work 4 days a week now and was not bringing home what I wanted every 2 weeks, for some reason that is at least 1,000.00. I just decided to turn up the speed and put my mind to doing at least 3000 lines a day and figured by that should get what I want in the pay line. Worked well for me. I tell people if you want to talk with me call before I go to work, do not let outside influences bother me during my hours. Other than a bathroom break, glass of water, here for the straight 8.
I love Google and I love MTs
Okay, who in their right mind would not only discuss but have passionate opinions about hyphens and apostrophes? I love it!

Anyway, in googling grammar rules I found numerous references that two days' time would not but hyphenated but when used as a modifier like two-day history, it would be.

I remember telling an OB nurse friend of mine about fretting over 38 weeks pregnancy and whether the hyphen belonged in there and she just laughed and said she thinks she would get the point either way. Well harumph!
Be nice
This is just the kind of response people are referring to........ try to be a little less defensive/offensive
Nice!
Nice!  My guinea pig would LOVE you!
Thank you so much! It's nice to know that someone
else believes in those of us who never received formal training as an MT but love our jobs and do them well (my QA score is 98% or better).
Not sure. It would be nice if across the
board all MQ offices would be exactly the same. It would save a lot of confusion among MTs. It seems that every single office has different policies and different requirements. They need to do something about that.
Well nice is as nice does ...
there are some people who would think I was being false and "Miss Nice" if I were to do all the "bless your little heart" business.

I'm matter of fact. I expect adults to be mature and fully developed in their thinking ... instead of the juvenile "OMG, I can't believe I can't get what I want" attitude.

We can agree on one thing...neither of us likes the other one's attitude. Hahahaha

You want to complain and whine like an insolent child. That's your right.

I'd rather throw a little mature advice, hints and tips on how to survive, how to make it, when to call it quits, etc. I'm not sitting on a throne anywhere having no idea what I'm talking about. I've been there and I'm speaking from experience - experiences of failure and success, happiness and discontentment, etc.

If you're over 18, you don't need to be babied. That's what your mother is for.

This is an adult world. Grow up. Be accountable. Be responsible. It's your life. You make every single decision and you are in control. To let anyone else control your life -- that is a choice as well and not a smart one.

You can just keep on sitting here, splashing around in the pity pool! Soon you'll be all shrivled up and prune-like. Hahaha Or, you can get out. Dry off. Decide what you want to do, where you want to go, and get the heck out of Dodge.

Guarantee you -- in 2 years, in 5 years, and more -- the majority, not all but the majority, of the complaining, whining, unhappy MTs will still be here, still on this forum, still with the same song and dance, with the same problems, with the same attitude. Not all, but most. They will be left behind.
That's not very nice to say
I do not think the employees of MDI are treated "like crap and fight for the work".

I am a Transcriptionist myself and I treat my MT's the way I would like to be treated myself.

If you don't know how we pay ALL full time employees' ULD, then you could not have worked for us.

It is truly unfortunate that you feel this way. You may call me at any time to discuss your statements. Thanks, Liz
Nice!!!!
LOL!!!
I am nice!
I do play nice until the other people throw the first punch, so to speak.

nice lie.
Whats this imaginary recruiters name
that's not nice
Hey now, I have an uncle ron and he is the best damn lover I have ever had - do you want him for a night?
yes, very nice.....
about your job with MQ! LOL
Now, this is nice!

Yikes, we must have done something wrong because our posts are all gone.   Oh well.  Glad we agree on some things.  As the saying goes, life would be very boring if we all agreed on everything and there was no such thing as opinions.  Keeps life interesting!

Actually, in my opinion, Frankie boy had me rolling on the floor.  I know undoubtedly some of his remarks were down right crude, but for some reason the people were just responding to him which just kept him going and going and going.

So glad we understand each other and accept the differences we have.  Have a good day!

WOW - It's nice
I work two jobs - a hospital job 10 hours per day and my night job for an orthopaedic clinic (many, many years). I just put my 13 inch from the kitchen in my office. I feel it will come in handy for bad weather, etc, during the day. BUT - at night, this is nice. I am typing my clinic notes with no problem and am listening to the news at the same time.

Usually, I listen to music. It actually is really nice with the news on right now - and I can type like crazy during the commercials!! THANKS FOR THE IDEA!!!

I had thought about it before when we were expecting Katrina, but didn't follow through with it. I'm glad I did it today.
How nice!
Okay, you B-I-G LOSER! Just because you are so unhappy with MQ and they can't cater to your every little need, don't take it out on us because we have the ability to adapt! Perhaps seeing a psychiatrist is the way to go for you. Doesn't take much to realize you have issues.

As far as brushing, flossing, and rinsing with Listerine, I done and did that - NOW IT IS YOUR TURN. Forget brushing and flossing though, just take your bottom and top plate out and soak them for a while!

A car yes, but not a nice new one
I think new cars are things to be EARNED by adults who WORK for them. Saddest story I ever heard, true: Some nice people bought their 16 year old daughter a used car for her birthday. They were so excited about it. The first words out of her mouth: "But it's a used car!"
Isn't it nice...
... that we, as transcriptionists, have mastered following all the "rules" of each client -- and 100 more not mentioned here -- that make YOUR job so easy!  Kudos to us.  And by the way... you're welcome!
Same to you. Nice having you here.
