"we'll bury you???"...(sm)

You guys are wising up?  ROFL...I would say you're just mad because you are going down the tubes with your party.

In case you haven't noticed (and I'm sure you rarely notice much of anything), intimidation and threats on message boards rarely work and serve only one purpose -- that is to make those who would use these tactics look like a fool.

Maybe you should change your threats to threats of torture ---- that worked soooo well for Bush...Yeah, he's going down, and it's about time!!!

Bury the hatchet
Well, here I am, coming out of retreat to respond. My first reaction to your post was one of excitement and I thought to myself, "does this mean I get to keep my name?" Then again, on second thought, it probably needs to be buried along with the hatchet in the interest of a clean slate and all.

Here's a compliment for you. I couldn't have said it better myself about taking things too personally. That 3rd person suggestion from my therapist friend really does go a long, long way when trying to keep one’s self from going off the deep end.

With my husband being a political refugee from Iran, and Bush’s “you are either for us or against us” line in the sand after 9/11, I found myself on the wrong side of that line, being equally concerned for his safety as one who would be perceived as a terrorist (it happened a time or 2), as I was appalled by the bombing itself. He lives in fear of somehow losing his status and being deported (irrational as that might sound) back to a place where he would be imprisoned, tortured and executed just for expressing a critical view of the Islamic regime.

My passions does not arise out of hatred for Republicans. It is hard to explain what it is like to live in the shadows where, at any given moment, that terrorist accusation could be hurled at someone as undeserving as he and that terrorist stereotype could ultimately threaten his status and his worst nightmares could be realized. Many of my fellow left-wing radicals share that feeling of being in the shadows, in terms of our perceptions that our viewpoints over the past 8 years have not been well represented in the media or in Congress. Let’s face it. It has not been exactly stylish or politically correct to be an L-word (liberal).

I am amazed that the moderator did not step in and I really appreciate that she let us have our say. We never could have arrived at the dawn of this new day had she not stayed in the shadows, herself. Get ready for another compliment. Yes, I equate bigotry with ignorance, but you actually are an intelligent, “worthy opponent.” If we are so well matched in artful slander, who knows what we can come up with in its absence? We might actually be able to spark debate lively enough to include more than 2 sides to a story.

Thanks to all who stepped in to diffuse this situation…and Sam, I really am going to miss our “chats” while being preoccupied with the job search. As challenging as it might sound, I believe that both of us are up to the task of 3rd person debate and I promise to try my best to leave you buttons alone. In the meantime, take care.

What...so you can bury them under all your rubble?
nm
Agreed. He'd bury her too. She could
nm
Better to bury my head in the sand?
What makes you think I haven't contacted my Congressmen?

I love when people preach to the choir.
Yes. We will bury falsehoods and misrepresentations with
Of course, I can easily understand why you would jump to the conclusion that this is a "threat".
what "we" want is hardly the

issue.  The "folks" are gonna vote based on the level of reasoning they use in their everyday lives.  Will they vote from fear and the idea that the devil one knows is better than the devil one does not know.  Will they vote based on reasoned assessment that the country is circling the drain after 8 years of republican rule and the only hope is to wrest control of the country from their incompetent hands?  I am pleased with the way the polls are trending.  They are more thinking americans than there are cowering americans.  We'll try to save you even if you are dragged into the light kicking and screaming.

"We have seen this movie before...
it's called Hugo Chavez and Venezuela." PERFECT comeback. And I got blasted for suggesting there were liberals in Congress who wanted to nationalize oil. So I will say it again...far left liberals like Maxine Waters, Barack Obama, Ted Kennedy to name a few...ARE socialists, just more sneaky about it...until she just got ticked and blurted it out. We better ALL hope they don't go there. That is the danger of voting in socialists. Good-bye America, hello Venezuela.
"We" know no such thing. Please do not
The scope of the issue is obviously beyond your comprehension.
"We've got them just where we want them." JM.
This is what we hear after being told JM would make a statement on the economy.
"WE" were never told about anything.....
That's the problem. We, the citizens of this country, the ones who the govt is supposed to work FOR, put this into law without even Congress being consulted....without congressional consent...PERIOD!

The only "objectives" are being pushed through quietly by Obama and unless people wake up and start protesting loudly and clearly, and taking back this country, we are going to be another russia.... for those that don't believe that, then ask yourself why Russian politicans AND European politicians are telling Obama he needs to stop what he is doing, that he is heading down the wrong path; the very one THEY have already been down! How telling is that?!
My favorite is SR's "We don't know what plan is"
nm
I beg to differ, it IS about "we" people.
Yes, I am a middle class American. I still have healthy savings and the credit cards I have are not maxed, because of choices I have made. You cannot blame the Republicans for peoples' bad decisions. I am not a Republican; I am an Independent. Though I have to say...if any party has been hijacked it is the Democrats...might as well change the name to the socialist party, because that is what it has become. That is evident in the posts I see here. They have convinced you that the wealthy people/corporations in the world are evil. If you knew how corporations figured into the economy of this country, you would know that is just not true. Corporations employ millions of Americans. Small businesses employ most of the rest of us. Democrats want to tax them into oblivion and drive even more business offshore to get out from under the tax burden. We have a higher tax on our businesses than any other country...which makes us extremely noncompetitive. THAT is why we lose jobs overseas and jobs here. Because the Democratic party has put the rax rate so high.

I don't want more and bigger government...I want less. I don't want higher taxes. I want less. I want businesses to be able to open and operate and compete with business outside our shores rather than join that business to get out from under taxes. I would like for Democrats to follow the entire Constitution and Bill of Rights, not just the parts that serve their agenda. I would like to get back to the place in America where we are Americans first, and Democrats/Republicans second. I would like politics in Washington to change, and Obama is not the one to do that. He and his VP are the #1 and #3 most liberal senators in the senate. They are washington politics as usual. Obama's entire career has been washington politics as usual...as is Biden's...30 years in the senate in washington. They are exactly opposite of any change. That is simple fact.

As to Republicans not making country stronger...that is the one major thing I agree with Bush on. He HAS kept this country safe. He has kept us on the offensive. And that is why we have not had another attack. AL Qaeda is much weaker. We drove them out of Iraq. I have no reason to think McCain will not continue that. He has said he would, and with his military experience, I believe him.

Obama is scary to me for that reason. I think he is soft on terrorism. He talks about "factions" of radical Islam and how you have to identify the "faction." That says to me he doesn't get it.

I do not agree that all the kids want Obama. However...this election is about all Americans, young, middle-aged, older. We all matter in this election.
"We know" -- ouch I am being excluded.

I shall probably die.

or the other quote...."we will take them over from inside...
without firing a shot." I agree, "bombing everything off the map" is not something you would engage in with Russia...but being firm is essential. They have to know that any aggression would be answered. To put it in very base terms, they want to see if he blinks...if there is a chink they can exploit. Will reserve any supposition or comment until he responds...giving benefit of the doubt and all that.
who in the world are you referring to as "we"
I never saw respect for Bush coming from the opposing side.

I agree that this day shouldn't be about bickering at all... and I welcome the new President

but please who are you referring to when you say "we" because that is a nice comment that you made, it makes sense you didn't like his policies, that is okay, but you really dont believe for a minute that people defended up?

wait i just read it again and you MUST be being sarcastic...
When they have to cough up "we are bankrupt."

Nobody has the balls to say the word.  We print Monopoly money because we don't have anything else.  Try spending that before long.

Enough is enough already!

"we" did the right thing....no, you're wrong there.....a lot of
people, mostly young, were bamboozled.

"We" did not do the righ thing...

Unless you like total government control, and social medicine, and social economics.....

We may never recover from President Obama, at least not in my lifetime.

I did not vote for him. I wish him well, but his choices as he is leading up to his inauguration do not bode well for our country on a whole, especially our children and grandchildren.

Libs refuse to call it socialism.

But that's what we're putting into office.

Bush opened the door a crack.

Obama intends to play on our fears and take full advantage of them.

Maybe when all your rights are gone, when govt has total control over your healthcare, your mortgage, your loans, your 401K....maybe then, you will understand what is happening right under your nose, and finally see what you have lost.

The barn door is wide open, and the winner take all (Obama). "Never let a good crisis go to waste" as his team has recently stated.

He has, and will, take full advantage of our fears, as even he, Obama, was the fear monger today.

"we" blame Bush for what he did wrong, sorry if you cannot bear to....sm
take the blinders off. I thought Bill Clinton was a great Preident and humanitarian, but a LOUSY husband, but the country did not marry Clinton, and the Pubs with Ken Star and his WITCH HUNT went after Bill for what he did in his private sexual life that had nothing to do with his job as President. Wow, we impeached the guy and spent millions of tax dollars doing it!!! Yay! But he still led us one of the most prosperous times in American History budget-wise, and if he is kinky in his bedroom, so what? Do you want someone in your bedroom? What do you guys use as a measure for success? Blind loyalty was what REALLY got all the people to drink the Kool-Aid down in Jonestown, and with all the denial about the Bush years, I feel like we are down there in that jungle.
And George kept up with those "we are not in a recession" speeches, hilarious but tragic....nm

I'll double that 'amen', and I'll raise you one!
amen
Oh. Well, they'll have to kill me before they'll censor

We'll see who'll be laughing tomorrow.
Bet it's me!
If O "fails", then you'll probably like him more cuz he'll

So when the terrorists come, you'll just say STOP or I'll say STOP again? nm

I'll be.
.
We'll see...
Again, you might want to consider a bib for the drool...
Okay I'll say it again...
I condem sexual abuse and from AR says he/she does too, but please don't generalize the whole of conservatives because of what one guy did in Washington or Oregon. That would be like me saying that all liberals are responsible for what the extreme left is doing like burning down SUV dealerships in the name of environmental protection.
I'll tell ya
I'm 25 and in college. Right before Bush got re-elected, my Composition class was discussing the state of things (we had just read a sort of anti-war book). Anyway, I was the only one (aside from my Professor) that spoke up against the war in my class. The others were so angry with me (how dare I be unpatriotic!) that I was seriously afraid people were going to jump me or something!! The same thing happened in another class around the same time. I haven't had a class discussion about it since then, but I'd be curious to see if they all feel so passionately for the war now.
yes, i'll be around!
In an uncertain world, reason should prevail. Besides, I have an axe to grind. My chemo drug runs $6,000 per month (who can afford that). I have had to fight insurance companies like a pitbull with lipstick (kak). I have watched my entire life go down the toilet due to illness and I have worked hard my whole life, paid taxes, obeyed the law, etc., and now..........I can try to at least make an impact on something that means so much to future of our country.
And I'll bet YOU don't, right? We all have

I'll bet....
you voted for BUSH both times, too!!! Now that's good judgment. Bye-Bye Now, Bye-Bye.
well you'll just have to

keep on bein' that way, I guess.

we'll never know now, will we? sm
Obama never does anything that's not according to the script or teleprompter. That's why he looked so foolish at his press conference, with all his ers and uhs. Didn't have all his talking points memorized yet.

Who could believe that?

Yea, well, if you believe that you'll believe
Government does hope this stays as quite as possible until it already happens. Poster who spoke of Kent State knows exactly what I'm talking about. POLICE STATE!

"nonlethal weapons designed to subdue unruly or dangerous individuals without killing them". Citizens' rights are violated every day by our police with "tasers" and other "nonlethal" things but somehow they manage to kill. One guy practically bragging about how big he is and how the taser really hurt him. We already have tasers that police use and abuse. Perhaps you would like to tell me why military needs them on our streets.

If you think it is that benign, what the h@ll do they need equipment for controlling citizens for? Just like national ID sounds benign enough to those who refuse to see it for what it is. There are lots of things that seemed benign to some while your civil rights were being thrown in the toilet and then as time went by and people become complacent, BOOM, all of a sudden you find yourself screwed over and wonder how that ever happened! It was right under your nose.

Of course, it will all seem benign enough until reasons start appearing out of nowhere as to why military need to patrol our streets

"They may be called upon to help with civil unrest and crowd control"

hello....wake up!!! We have the police "force" for that. They do a fine enough job of interfering with our civil rights, what do you think the military will do.....hand you a cupcake and milk?

All you need to do is look at history in other countries to see how this seemingly harmless environment creeped into their lives and now their children grow up with military roaming the streets, monitoring "their" every move, until it seems perfectly normal to them....except for those who never accept the fact they are being controlled and those are ones who you see being trampled by their military while they try their best to protest for their freedom from government control.

Little by little by little.......
if ya'll can do about SP

I'll help you out here......
The Qur’an dehumanizes non-Muslims, describing them as “animals” and beasts:

Those who reject (Truth), among the People of the Book and among the Polytheists, will be in Hell-Fire, to dwell therein (for aye). They are the worst of creatures. (98:6)

Surely the vilest of animals in Allah's sight are those who disbelieve, then they would not believe. (8:55)

Verse 5:60 even says that Allah transformed Jews of the past into apes and pigs. Verse 2:65 continues the theme.

Verse 7:176 compares unbelievers to "panting dogs" with regard to their idiocy and worthlessness.

A hadith says that Muhammad believed rats to be "mutated Jews" (Bukhari 54:524, also confirmed by Sahih Muslim 7135 and 7136).

Verses 46:29-35 even say that unbelieving men are worse than demons who believe in Muhammad.

I'll second that
While Billy was president I could not stand him (I voted for him the first time but after 6 months was disappointed and by the end of the first year with him I loathed him and cringed anyone I saw him or his wife "the anointed one". However, with all that has happened over the past few weeks he is finally starting to make sense.

I just think the country has done such a dis-service to Hillary and voted in a man that came from nowhere (and has done nothing).

I am glad Billy is finally starting to wise up and speak the truth.
sorry-I'll try again

Well, I'll say this.........
making such a big deal out of "Joe the plumber" was pretty juvenile on the part of McCain and Palin.  IMHO good ole Joe was probably a republican plant paid to ask that question but then what do I know?
something you'll never see on tv

Love the "disco pants!"  Of course, SP would do it in a heartbeat with a smile on her face.  They'd have to put Michelle in a straight jacket.  Can't you just picture it?

The libs just don't have a sense of humor like the rest of us!

And to add to this so ya'll can

get all your slams on me at once.  LOL

I also believe that people should have the right to protect themselves in their homes.  If someone breaks into my home, I should have a right to shoot them.  In my opinion, they took a risk breaking into my house.  I am not going to take the chance of them hurting me or my kids.  So don't break into my house because I will shoot you and then I will rip my clothes and beat my head into a wall to make it look like I was attacked and was using self defense.  LOL!

I'll ask again.
WHICH question did Joe Biden NOT answer, as you alleged?
I'll add another bet. S/M
IF McCain/Palin get in the White House, I will bet that in 2012 the Republicans will have about as good a chance at getting back in as Hermann Munster!!!
Okay, I'll tell ya

#1.  He is black.  Never mind he is only HALF black, there are plenty of people who won't vote for him because of the color or his skin but it isn't p.c. to say this so they p.c. and say they WILL vote for him.  When they close the curtain on the voting booth, I think they'll have a change of heart and punch the button for the one who is "like them."  Remember Palin said he wasn't "like us."

#2.  There have been so many smears against him I really believe that many people who don't care enough to investigate for themselves, just believe it "like sheeple" and so they go down the garden path.

#3.  I think there are a lot of people who forget that John McCain is only one of many service men and women who have served their country.  He is no more or less honorable than any of them but McCain keeps railing on "I served my country and I have the scars to prove it." and then whining that "all I ever wanted to be is a Navy pilot."  So at the end I think a lot of people will feel if they don't vote for him they will somehow dishonor "his" service to our country.

The reason I don't think the Republicans will stand a chance is that after 8 years of Bush/Cheney and 4 more years of McCain/Palin, people will vote for anyone but....and maybe that's a good time for an independent with REAL values and REAL promise of change to show up.

Now, if I'm wrong, boil up the crow, I'll be here to eat it.  LOL

I'll say it again
As a Jew, I don't believe there is a soul until the first breath is taken.

But, regardless of what I believe, I don't expect everyone to agree with me. It is clear what you believe and that is fine with me. I would never try to change it. I expect the same courtesy, that people allow me to believe as a Jew, as I was raised and studied, and not try to force your beliefs on me. I don't believe anyone should be forced into having an abortion, but I also don't believe anyone should be kept from having one either.
Again, I'll say it
My husband is there. No, we did not buy the ticket. Yes, he joined BEFORE the war, but he joined the military. It is silly to think that you can join a military and never expect to go to a war. Of course that is where the military sent them. This is their job. They chose their field and most of them support it.
I'll help if I can but can you help me

I'm not sure which post you're referring to but I'll be happy to re-find it for you if I can.  I don't always post links because I would hope that people would research everything they can and make the best decision they can possibly make to bring about whatever change they believe in.  As I've said, I read a lot but I have made my decisions based totally on what I have heard from the candidate's own mouths.  I have come to the conclusion that I will take a chance on Obama versus McCain and that is due ONLY to what I have heard from both of them.  McCain's constant reference to his war record has completely turned me off.  Not that I don't respect his service but so far as I know we are not voting on "war hero of the year."

And just for the record....every day I am still watching BOTH candidates speeches at their rallies.  I could still change my mind in the way I intend to vote if I heard something from EITHER candidate's mouth that would sway me....and that being something of SUBSTANCE that would make me change my mind about which one I am willing to take a chance on.  I will continue with that inquisitive mind until about 8 a.m. next Tuesday when I go to cast my vote.....so I guess you could call me one of the "undecided."  Maybe the other "undecideds" feel the same as I do. I don't call myself "undecided" because I have made a decision and the other candidate has a couple of days to make me change my mind but I doubt he will because it will take more than railing against "that one" to change my mind.

I'll think about it lol
i'll have to take a vote! :-D
I'll second all the above! (sm)
We need more people like you.  Thanks for sharing!
