A man who will quite possibly go down in the record books as THE worst president this country has ever had to endure.  Seriously, could one single man make more mistakes and enemies (in just about any area you would choose to look at) than this man (and his VP DC) has made?  I would challenge any remaining supporters of this man to list out exactly what it is he has done for our country since he has been in office and what do you think about the way he has left it for us.  Thanks, George!  It is wild to see people here flaming Barak Obama, a man who faces the most daunting challenge this country has ever faced and a lot of it is due to the poor policies and decision making of the current administration.  Still, here sit the cackling minions of hens spiteful and impulsive in their words and manner.  Not a great role model for the next generation.   I should bring my sons here to understand how NOT to act in a public forum.  I will leave you all to scratch and moan.  Pathetic and hilarious.

*Before anyone considers flaming me as one of those whacky Democrats or Independents in response to this post, know that my family goes way, way back in this country and I am from a Republican background--not that this should make any difference, whatsoever, but in this particular forum, on this particular site, I felt I should throw it in.

At the time, officials told said that Plame's outing resulted in *severe* damage to her team and *significantly hampered the CIA's ability to monitor nuclear proliferation.*  I guess personal kindergarten style paybacks are more important to Bush.  Just remember Bush's role in all this when he declares yet another war on Iran.

I know of nobody -- I don't know of anybody in my administration who leaked classified information. If somebody did leak classified information, I'd like to know it, and we'll take the appropriate action. And this investigation is a good thing.

And again I repeat, you know, Washington is a town where there's all kinds of allegations. You've heard much of the allegations. And if people have got solid information, please come forward with it. And that would be people inside the information who are the so-called anonymous sources, or people outside the information -- outside the administration. And we can clarify this thing very quickly if people who have got solid evidence would come forward and speak out. And I would hope they would.

And then we'll get to the bottom of this and move on. But I want to tell you something -- leaks of classified information are a bad thing. And we've had them -- there's too much leaking in Washington. That's just the way it is. And we've had leaks out of the administrative branch, had leaks out of the legislative branch, and out of the executive branch and the legislative branch, and I've spoken out consistently against them and I want to know who the leakers are.

Newspaper columnist Robert Novak is still not naming his source in the Valerie Plame affair, but he says he is pretty sure the name is no mystery to President Bush.

I'm confident the president knows who the source is, Novak told a luncheon audience at the John Locke Foundation in Raleigh on Tuesday. I'd be amazed if he doesn't.

So I say, 'Don't bug me. Don't bug Bob Woodward. Bug the president as to whether he should reveal who the source is.'

Reports: Plame Was Monitoring Iran Nukes When Outed

NEW YORK What was Valerie Plame working on at the CIA when she was outed by administration officials and columnist Robert Novak? MSNBC's David Schuster on Monday said he had confirmed an earlier report that she was helping to keep track of Iran's nuclear activity--not a front and center issue for the White House.

Earlier this year, Larisa Alexandrovna of the Web site RawStory.com, reported that Plame, whose covert status was compromised in the leak, was monitoring weapons proliferation in Iran. At the time, officials told her that Plame's outing resulted in severe damage to her team and significantly hampered the CIA's ability to monitor nuclear proliferation.

On last night's Hardball, MSNBC correspondent Shuster reported that intelligence sources told him thatr Wilson was part of an operation three years ago tracking the proliferation of nuclear weapons material into Iran. And the sources asserted, he said, that when here Wilson's cover was blown, the administration's ability to track Iran's nuclear ambitions was damaged as well.

And there are other conservatives besides you, some in the senate and congress, who think of this as a glimpse of his true ideology.  I'm glad that people like you don't care, I don't either.  I think it was the right thing to do. A person can believe that gays have the right to fair housing without believing they should be able to get married.

    After W. was elected, he sometimes gave visitors a tour of the love alcove off the Oval Office where Bill trysted with Monica - the notorious spot where his predecessor had dishonored the White House.

    At least it was only a little pantry - and a little panting.

    If W. wants to show people now where the White House has been dishonored in far more astounding and deadly ways, he'll have to haul them around every nook and cranny of his vice president's office, then go across the river for a walk of shame through the Rummy empire at the Pentagon.

    The shocking thing about the trellis of revelations showing Dick Cheney, the self-styled Mr. Strong America, as the central figure in dark conspiracies to juice up a case for war and demonize those who tried to tell the public the truth is how un-shocking it all is.

    It's exactly what we thought was going on, but we never thought we'd actually hear the lurid details: Cheney and Rummy, the two old compadres from the Nixon and Ford days, in a cabal running the country and the world into the ground, driven by their poisonous obsession with Iraq, while Junior is out of the loop, playing in the gym or on his mountain bike.

    Mr. Cheney has been so well protected by his Praetorian guard all these years that it's been hard for the public to see his dastardly deeds and petty schemes. But now, because of Patrick Fitzgerald's investigation and candid talk from Brent Scowcroft and Lawrence Wilkerson, he's been flushed out as the heart of darkness: all sulfurous strands lead back to the man W. aptly nicknamed Vice.

    According to a Times story yesterday, Scooter Libby first learned about Joseph Wilson's C.I.A. wife from his boss, Mr. Cheney, not from reporters, as he'd originally suggested. And Mr. Cheney learned it from George Tenet, according to Mr. Libby's notes.

    The Bush hawks presented themselves as protectors and exporters of American values. But they were so feverish about projecting the alternate reality they had constructed to link Saddam and Al Qaeda - and fulfilling their idée fixe about invading Iraq - they perverted American values.

    Whether or not it turns out to be illegal, outing a C.I.A. agent - undercover or not - simply to undermine her husband's story is Rove-ishly sleazy. This no-leak administration was perfectly willing to leak to hurt anyone who got in its way.

    Vice also pressed for a loophole so the C.I.A. could do torture-light on prisoners in U.S. custody, but John McCain rebuffed His Tortureness. Senator McCain has sponsored a measure to bar the cruel treatment of prisoners because he knows that this is not who we are. (Remember the days when the only torture was listening to politicians reciting their best TV lines at dinner parties?)

    Colonel Wilkerson, the former chief of staff for Colin Powell, broke the code and denounced Vice's vortex, calling his own involvement in Mr. Powell's U.N. speech, infected with bogus Cheney and Scooter malarkey, the lowest point in his life.

    He followed that with a blast of blunt talk in a speech and an op-ed piece in The Los Angeles Times, saying that foreign policy had been hijacked by a secretive, little-known cabal that hated dissent. He said the cabal was headed by Mr. Cheney, a vice president who speaks only to Rush Limbaugh and assembled military forces, and Donald Rumsfeld, a secretary of defense presiding over the death by a thousand cuts of our overstretched armed forces.

    I believe that the decisions of this cabal were sometimes made with the full and witting support of the president and sometimes with something less, Colonel Wilkerson wrote. More often than not, then-national security adviser Condoleezza Rice was simply steamrolled by this cabal.

    Brent Scowcroft, Bush Senior's close friend, let out a shriek this week to Jeffrey Goldberg in The New Yorker, revealing his estrangement from W. and his old protégé Condi. He disdained Paul Wolfowitz as a naïve utopian and said he didn't know his old friend Dick Cheney anymore. Vice's alliance with the neocons, who were determined to finish in Iraq what Mr. Scowcroft and Poppy had declared finished, led him to lead the nation into a morass. Troop deaths are now around 2,000, a gruesome milestone.

    The reason I part with the neocons is that I don't think in any reasonable time frame the objective of democratizing the Middle East can be successful, Mr. Scowcroft said. If you can do it, fine, but I don't think you can, and in the process of trying to do it you can make the Middle East a lot worse.

    W. should take the Medal of Freedom away from Mr. Tenet and give medals to Colonel Wilkerson and Mr. Scowcroft

I hope Cehney will also be prosecuted about the Abu Ghraib torture case when Obama decides that the TIME IS RIGHT.

I watched "The Situation" on MSNBC last night, and I got a pretty good laugh regarding the Bush Administration taking a quote from Bono (of all people), completely twisting what it said to mean something completely different, and running with it.

I believe I'm starting to understand the disconnect between some of the Conservatives on this board and the rest of humanity.  They've obviously adopted the George W. Bush way of communicating.  I'm not sure if Bush is their hero because of his communication style or whether they personally adopted his technique after the fact.  Someone should really enlighten them that just because Bush does it, doesn't make it right, and that that is the very crux of many people's frustrations with Bush:  That he lies, and nobody can believe what he says.

Anyway, here's a copy of the transcript from that show.

CARLSON:  Next situation, the Bush administration between the rock and a hard place and it‘s all because of rock star Bono.  A State Department press release quotes the U2 front man praising President Bush.  But apparently, Bono was not so much quoted as misquoted.

According to the State Department, Bono said Bush, quote, “has already doubled and tripled aid to Africa.”  But actually, Bono told “Time” magazine, quote, “Bush feels he‘s already doubled and tripled aid to Africa, which he started from too low a place.”

This is such an interesting story on so many levels.  Here is the most interesting level, as far as I‘m concerned.  The Bush administration feels compelled to twist Bono‘s words.  Why do they care what Bono thinks?  Bush actually has dramatically elevated aid to Africa to a much higher level than Clinton ever even thought about bringing it. 

The United States is the largest donor to Africa far and away.  We have no moral obligation to give anything to Africa.  We do it because we‘re decent.  Isn‘t that enough?  The front man from U2 has to approve?  Why are they lying about this?  It‘s bizarre. 

SEVERIN:  This is very sad.  By the way, Bono has an “r” missing from the end of his name.  I just wanted to report that on this program. 

Secondly, you know, how can I know what to think about world affairs until Bono and the Edge weigh in?  What about the Backstreet Boys?  What do they think today?  I mean, this is really sad that we care about what “Bonor” thinks about anything. 

MADDOW:  Well, fine, you can be upset that they quoted Bono.  But the fact is, they misquoted Bono. 

CARLSON:  No, but that makes me more upset.  Why are they doing that? 

Why do they care?

(CROSSTALK)

MADDOW:  ... get out there and say that Bono, who they respect for whatever reason, he‘s actually made himself into a voice on debt issues...

(CROSSTALK)  

CARLSON:  Well, I‘m sure he‘s a great guy and very smart.  I mean, still.

MADDOW:  Paul Wolfowitz thought he was worth, you know...

(CROSSTALK)

CARLSON:  That‘s right.

MADDOW:  ... long phone call before he took the head position at the World Bank. 

SEVERIN:  I knew we‘d get you to say something nice about Wolfowitz before the year was up.

MADDOW:  Exactly.  But the fact is, the State Department, like they‘re doing—like the Bush administration is doing on way too many things, just overreach.  They not only had to quote Bono, they had to lie about what Bono said.  It‘s embarrassing.

CARLSON:  But why not just tell the truth about their own record?  It‘s compelling enough.  It‘s amazing.  Here‘s this purportedly mean, right-wing administration sending huge amounts of aid to Africa. 

MADDOW:  Well, yes, they‘ve promised—they asked for $4 billion for the Millennium Challenge.  They‘ve actually spent $4 million.  So we‘ve got a difference of opinion on that.

CARLSON:  The fact is, in money spent already, they‘ve elevated 56 percent over the final year of the Clinton administration.  It‘s a lot of money. 

MADDOW:  Yes.  But you can‘t take credit for more than you‘ve done. 

SEVERIN:  Yes, but they‘re Republicans.  That‘s why. 

CARLSON:  All right.

to the conservatives willing to say  no mccain, no way.
