sweeping generalization

dont fall on your broom like Albert DiSalvo.

please back up this sweeping

statement with statistics.  I had not heard about this.

Stop with the sweeping generalizations.
Do you think you and only you understand? I don't know anyone that thinks government will take care of them, and based on the posts on this forum, more people see the government as some scary boogeyman than a fairy godmother there to grant their every wish.
too much generalization
Not every rapist is the child of a rapist nor does every child born of rape turn out to be a rapist. Yes, behaviors are passed from generation to generation but that is generally by example, not genetics. Alcoholism is not a fair comparison as alcoholism is a disease. Many children of alcoholics, though, are adamantly opposed to alcohol. violence, you other example, would more likely be passed on as the child witnesses or is subject to the violent behaviors in their formative years. So this might be true if the child lived with a father who was a rapist AND the child was exposed to the aggressive behaviors a rapist would demonstrate in his dealings with women. You state the possibility is there but the possibility is there for any child, not just a child or rape. The possibility is also there that the child would not be a rapist. Let's be fair and open-minded about it.
With your generalization of what

food stamp recipients do all day long, maybe you can feel the frustration of those of us who have paid our bills and mortgages on time, have lived within our means and don't want to bail out those who lived above their means, charging everything in site, thinking the free ride would last forever and now want those of us who are responsible to take care of them.

While I agree with your suggestion in therory, I certainly don't want the gov't telling me what I can or can't buy, where I can or can't live, or telling me how I should live in general.

gt you're the queen of wide sweeping generalizations
a taste of your own medicine is kind of bitter ain't it.
broad statement

And have you taken a poll of every democrat in the country as to whether they love or hate Phil?  These broad statements are not helping your credibility.

Not a broad statement at all.
And since you make broad statements all the time, that's a little disingenuous, don't you think?  I asked a question.  You didn't answer it.  How many politicians have you seen embrace Phil?  As far as credibilty, let's be perfectly frank.  I don't care if you find me credible and I am sure the same can be said for your feelings about me.  We are worlds apart in our thinking.  Thank God.
broad statement
I make broad statements all the time?  When, where?  LOL.  That in itself is a broad statement from you.  I make statements with facts to back them up, I post articles.  As far as how many politicals back Phil, who knows, who cares.  Is he running for office?  I must have missed it if he is.  He is a tax paying, charity giving, hard working adult who has opinions and ideas and beliefs on how our country should go and I applaud him for speaking out, with his own independent ideas.  As far as your and mine ideas?  Sure they are different.  I dont thank god for that..Frankly, I dont think god has anything to do with that.  We are free thinking human beings (at least I am..are you?) and it is great that you have your ideas and I have mine.  That is what this country was built on..differing opinions.  Heaven help us all if this country ever becomes one thought and one opinion..that is called a dictatorship.  I dont know about you but I could never live under that situation..So, long live your opinion and long live mine and never the two shall meet.
broad statements such as this

reveal much, much more about the thinker than the group he is maligning.  Ask any psych professional.  Ask Niles Crane. Dr. Phil.  Dr. Ablow.  Dr. Freud.

Before you continue with your generalization rampage
William Bennett's remarks are definitely NOT representative of conservative views as a whole. However, you and GT's comments do nothing...absolutely nothing but make the division between political views that much worse. If you and your ideology truly want unity and peace you would do the cause much good by not adding gasoline to an already bad bonfire.

Your comments cause as much harm to race/political relations as what Bennett said himself.
Over generalization....socialism is redistribution
xx
Again, awful generalization. Your animosity toward anyone
again goes against your other posts. Plus, you're basing some of your own opinions on hearsay from others? Lest you forget, it's the person, not the money. Look at Angelina Jolie, someone we all know has plenty of money. She might not have food sitting out by the mailbox on food drive day, but that might be because she's "walking the walk" in a poor third world country. You don't want to be judged, yet you are doing an awful lot of judging yourself.
My, we sure are painting all conservatives with a broad brush...
I have criticized Bush on numerous thing, including this pandering to the Mexicans in regard to our border control.  Please don't assume every conservative is just a lock step mindless zombie.  Lots of people say that about liberals, but I disagree with that too.  There are a million shades of gray, across both sides of the political aisle.
Being married to a Moslem, I find that broad-stroke stereotype
Jihadists are minority political factions that are hated every bit as much by more moderate Moslems as they are by Westerners. The nations where theocracy is the rule do not exactly give them a legitimate avenue for opposition or overthrow as we have here in the US. It is not a whole lot different than fanatical politicized Christian movements that make other Christians cringe every time they spout their racist, bigoted, exclusionary world views. I will not go down the road with you over infidel/sinner/people of the Book and the like. Suffice to say that racism and bigotry is a divisive, destructive and, at times, fatal force that undermines the productivity and cultural integrity in nations of ALL ideologies that harbor it within their borders. US is no exception to this.
