We could all talk about our differences as friends. Some we would get along with and others not but we could talk about all of it respectfully with each other. Having the anonymity makes us all probably take things up a notch or two higher than we would in person, but I suspect we would all be making the same points, just in person. That said, with election day being tomorrow, I hope that all of us, no matter who is elected, will make the best of the situation and try to be kind to our fellow human beings regardless of race or religion.. and so set on what you perceive IS the truth and your perception that I do not want to know the truth that you cannot read what is in plain sight. You should be aiming all this vitriol at this committee holding all these secret meetings instead of holding open hearings. They are the ones who won't impeach. Not MY fault they won't impeach. But if you are really serious about all this endless stuff you keep posting, you should be lobbying your congresspeople to impeach so we can put everyone under oath, both sides, give the accused a fair trial (a basic American right) and to face his accusers, and put this mess behind us once and for all. Proactive old-school people lived in a different world. They were raised with different values, that they learned from the small circle of people around them in their families and communities, prior to a media driven society. They had confidence born of being doers and fixers.
Sadly, they're speaking to a hostile audience, as each generation appears to become more apathetic and helpless. Our values have shifted. We consume and dispose, we don't plan and preserve, or heaven forbid, repair or do without. We spend and do not save. We accept and follow blindly whatever we are told. We question nothing, because then we might have to DO something or change. So much easier to go with the flow, wherever it takes us.
We don't want to see cause and effect. We don't want to see it when we are part of the problem. If the struggle to survive doesn't take up all our time, we're so busy obsessing over our looks and possessions (or that of celebrities) we can't be bothered to notice what's wrong, why its wrong, and what to do about it. Fads and entertainment are all we appear enthused about. We don't know why we're in a war, and we don't really care. We don't know why the bank just sent us more fine print in the mail, we'll just shrug and pay the higher charges, OK, whatever. We don't know why so many things are spiraling out of control, we'll just go back to our TV and assume there's nothing we can do about it.
Sure, it would be great if we could find a hero to fix it all for us. As long as that hero didn't ask us to change. The possibility that you or I could be that hero is just not going to cross our minds. Meanwhile, we'll accept whoever volunteers for the job of running things, and not worry too much about what agendas motivate them.

organization that does things in the community year round. In fact, my oldest daughter got a scholarship at a private college mainly because of her community service. I believe that community service teaches our young people to give something back to the community to help those less fortunate. It is a very good plan in my opinion.

We have the National Guard...ahhhh but the National Guard is in control of the individual states and that would not serve the same purpose as a "national security force" operating under the President...does it? I admit, that is alarming to me. I can't hold Obama personally responsible for what his pastor said and never did...I can hold him responsible for his actions. As can we all with ANY candidate...be it McCain, Palin, Obama, or Biden.

We have a lot of great women leaders and yes a lot of women have fought for our rights as women, but that has nothing to do with a women running this country. Again, my personal opinion and why should I go and be a man because that is how I feel. Different people with different opinions, part of what makes the world go round.
