Frankly, Im not laughing right now, just shaking my head. Forget my *old posts*. Truly you and some others have misunderstood my posts as they were strong, so I have toned them down for days now and have tried to be polite and kept it at debate level, nothing more, nothing less. Secondly, why is it that all these big businesses and banks that were irresponsible can get help, but average day people can't?
I did buy a house I can afford. I did get a straight fixed rate mortgage even after I was offered an ARM. I have never been late on a mortgage payment. But, I'll be honest. Since the economy has gotten so bad, and since my husband works in the construction business, and since the files have slowed down and/or gone overseas, times are getting a bit tight.
So again, if these irresponsible banks and businesses can get bailed out, why can it not be filtered through the average citizen first? Why should we all continue to tighten our belts and lose our homes even after being responsible and watch them get handed a big fat check and GO ON VACATION WITH IT?

I didn't know anyone involved in it, and yet the tragedy made me feel as if I did. I couldn't even BEGIN to imagine what it must have been like for the families and friends of the victims.
I remember actually feeling PROUD of Bush as he stood out there with that megaphone, as if he actually WAS one of "us." I think everyone was in his corner as he invaded Afghanistan. I even supported the invasion of Iraq, believing most of what he said, although there was a little voice deep down inside that didn't quite "buy" it. Now it's very clear why I didn't.
But to use 9/11 to further his own personal agenda is just monstrous and unforgiveable. I hope every single Bush groupie reads your post. Maybe they will begin to see the man for what he really is, although I doubt it.

What did he think was going to happen when he took regulation out of the banking system? He took out accountability and that's when greed started growing like wildfire.

You find out you are in so much debt, you ask family and friends to bail you out. It works for awhile, but you are still in debt and now in more debt because of owing money to family and friends and before you know it, you are bankrupt which is just what is going to happen with this country. It is happening now.
As for creating jobs, sure, I am going to apply now to help make bridges and roads. Sorry, not my line of work.
