I thought that was in poor taste.
And still think so.
Ok....I just thought it was in kinda bad taste.
But...whatever floats your boat. I did think I would never hear anything negative about the left leaning from him...and I never expected to hear him say that. Oh well...whatever floats your boat. Enjoy! :)
Even most liberals present thought it was poor taste.

I thought she did a fine job, And I guess...
the mainstream media just can't help that looking down your nose condescencion when they talk to her. Couric certainly couldn't. And enough with the gotcha questions already. Do you honestly think Joe Biden could answer that question either..."say Joe, give me specific examples of how Barack Obama has done anything about regulating mortgage companies?" Oh, well of course how silly of me, that's easy. There are NONE. And Katie Couric dismissing what McCain did in 2005-2006...like it meant nothing. And I am supposed to find her credible?

Sarah Palin does not need to know how many times Mccain was for or against regulation. What does that have to do with being Vice President? When will that ever come into play?

Palin's answers were good, they were correct, and she is not going to play the gotcha game. I think that puts her above the mud and the mainstream media wallowing in it.

The media in the tank for Obama during the primaries treated Hillary almost as bad....and for the life of me, I cannot understand people who encourage this behavior in the press and even engage it in themselves, and have the supreme arrogance to call it journalism or fact finding...instead of owning up to what it is...looking for Palin's head on a platter and why let a little thing like the truth get in their way?

Yep, I agree...it was pathetic!!
Actually, Barack Obama has quite eclectic taste!

Obama lists his favorite music as Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Bob Dylan, Stevie Wonder, Johann Sebastian Bach (cello suites), and The Fugees.

Personally, I love the song SuperFreak!

FINE! JOE BIDEN SAID OBAMA WAS NOT...
READY TO BE PRESIDENT!! Which is worse??? Geez.
Not necessary to defend Obama. He's doing just fine
.
Fine, Obama is Christian -my question is
Why did he stay with a church for 20 years that spewed hatred for the USA and was racist as well?  Rev. Wright.....  you have seen the tapes?  When asked, Obama denies he witnessed the Rev. speaking this way..and if he had, he would have left the church before.  Do you actually believe that?  I mean, come on! The two of them were very close, admittedly so. Sometimes, you are judged by the company you keep and the friends that surround you. You may not think that is fair, but I have a right to feel this way.... and I do!  I myself have NEVER claimed Obama is a Muslim. I don't go with rumors, but I can't ignore what I see and hear with my own eyes and ears.
Obama will do just fine with hostile leaders.
Actually, understanding Islamic principles will serve the man of his intelligence quite well when up against either Ahmadinejad or with Israel. Obama knows exactly what to do with facing hostility. He certainly has faced enough of it on the home front here during the filthy word wars waged by the media and in fanatic chat room posts and has demonstrated the capacity to stoop to those low levels with the best of them. However, beyond the election, he will have not use for such petty, meaningless tactics and strategies. He is calm, collected and calculated in his responses, or lack there of, and has an uncanny ability to be conciliatory without having to compromise his basic values or objectives. Will be a breath of fresh air to see somebody at least try an approach that is not designed to promote US imperialism, world economic domination or the war of the civilizations.

Second paragraph of your post. It's all in the perspective, point-of-view and public perceptions. Being a good democrat does not necessarily make him a Washington insider, despite his long career. It only means that he knows his way around there and that his constituents continue to send him back there election, after election after election. Somebody somewhere must like him a lot. No further comment on your personal opinion. Sour grapes over an excellent pick. Let's see if McCain can show as much good judgment.

Amazing garbage by the Obama campaign you are fine with....
and dirty doesn't even come close. Have a man investigated because he asked a question?? Talk about UNAmerican. Where is the ACLU? Where are all you liberal civil rights folks?? Where is the outrage? Geez. THAT is truly amazing.
I think this was in bad taste, but...
This took place in West Hollywood, California, which is a predominantly gay community. It was done as a Halloween decoration. It comes as a result of Sarah Palin trying to force her beliefs upon the gay community when she has no right to do so.

Again, let me reiterate, I think this was in very bad taste.
No bad taste would be
Kicking out guests in the middle of their stay just because the annointed one said "I'm here, it's mine" would have been bad taste. But maybe you think they should have been yanked out of bed in the middle of the night just to kick them out in the streets to give it to the O. There are plenty of ritzy hotels for the O and I'm sure he had no problems finding another place.

Bad taste is thinking something is owed to you when its not.
Here's a thought Obama.....
How 'bout we kick their butts out of this country, since after all, they are here ILLEGALLY, and then they can go through the same legal means everyone else has to go through.....

We don't need 'reform'....we need the laws that are already in place to be EXECUTED!! There's a thought!!

Regardless who is leading the band.....they are criminals here illegally! And lets not parade their children about on TV trying to elicit pity from everyone....look at all the homeless children left behind... pleeeeeze!!!

The parents were here illegally. They can take their children back with them.... no one is stopping them!
This taste of your own medicine has been

They are both in very, very poor taste and should be
taken down.  It is truly amazing what some people will do.
Never developed a taste for
'tree rats'.  Find 'em a little tough and stringy.
Thought of that, but Obama is running for the top
nm
I thought you said Obama was addressing his
just trying to clarify it for you. You seem to be easily led..... oops, misled.
If that was a joke, it was in very poor taste!
xx
I thought poster had remarked about Obama
xx
Exactly. The real Obama himself. I thought Powell
was to be picked for something by Obama since Powell endorsed Obama.  Waiting to see where Oprah fits in this too.  Already picking shady characters for his team and more liberals.  Partisanship, my ....
Just thought I would point out that a few days ago or so, an Obama
supporter actually used the snarky kool aid and cult lines towards me because of my views regarding the end times and Obama's and America's role.  I think it went something like "talk about drinking the kool aid..."  Funny how when the shoe is on the other foot, it's inflammatory and hateful!  But no one said boo, not even me I might add, when someone basically threw those insults at me.  That knife cuts both ways sista!  OUCH!
I'm sorry...........is Bush in office? Thought Obama
**
I thought Obama was going to unite Washington
nm
People thought Bush was so bad, under Obama,
nm
The point is Obama NEVER thought it was important
--
OMG, I hope my post didn't look like I thought Obama did it
I know he didn't. He's a very decent person and respectful and when something is wrong he'll say so (and will have words with his people if they cross the line). I wasn't sure who did it. The news said they were going to tell us who is responsible but they never did (go figure). I just think its a horrible thing to happen to anyone and DH and I were talking tonight about when did all the nasty things like this start happening. I'm sure 100 or so years ago it wasn't bad like this. I just think it's a horrible world when someone is running for an office and people think its okay to do this. How low will they go?
Problem is this....Once they get a taste of the money and power...WHAM!...sm
So much for values. They are bought off by the highest bidder.

It takes a strong character not to buy into it all, like Kinky Friedman, maybe (running independent in the Texas governer race).
No more than the bad taste you are displaying being so nitpickey over this matter..funny you didn
have anything to say about how the outgoing President treated Obama when he would not allow him and his family to stay at the Blair House which is customary for an incoming President reside until he takes office because Bush had a friend of his their (I believe it was some politician) from Australia staying there.  Now THAT is definitely in bad taste.
I just thought it might be nice to hear an original thought. sm
I guess I was reaching.
I no more understand it than I understand the extremely poor taste and blasphemous sm
post with pictures on the other board.  Are we clear now?
Thought this was good so I thought I'd share

Down the drain?  Beware of Obama's plan to 'spread the wealth around'

By Betsy Newmark
High School History and Government Teacher/Blogger

If the McCain campaign can’t use this Obama quote to raise doubts about his attitude towards wealth and success, then they deserve the shellacking they seem headed for.

“Your new tax plan is going to tax me more, isn’t it?” the plumber asked, complaining that he was being taxed “more and more for fulfilling the American dream.”

“It’s not that I want to punish your success. I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they’ve got a chance for success too,” Obama responded. “My attitude is that if the economy’s good for folks from the bottom up, it’s gonna be good for everybody … I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody.”

Plumbers of the country, unite! Forget about the work and effort you put into building up a business or the scummy work that you do that many of us don’t know or don’t want to do. If you have succeeded, you should be willing to give up more of what you earn to help those who haven’t had the great good luck that you have had to be a successful plumber. Remember how Obama is going to give 95% of all of us a tax cut even though over 30% of the population doesn’t pay taxes?

He might call it a tax credit, but what he’s really doing is his vision of “spreading the wealth around.” It sounds a lot like Huey Long’s 1935 plan to “Share the Wealth.” And when he finds that he can’t tax the top 5% of the population to gain enough wealth to spread to the 95% of the rest of us, do you really think that he’ll stop with that 5%?

Remember…This is the guy who said in the ABC debate during the primary season that his approach to raising tax on capital gains is not based on whether it would provide more revenue but on his idea of what is fair:

GIBSON: All right. You have, however, said you would favor an increase in the capital gains tax. As a matter of fact, you said on CNBC, and I quote, “I certainly would not go above what existed under Bill Clinton,” which was 28 percent. It’s now 15 percent. That’s almost a doubling, if you went to 28 percent.

But actually, Bill Clinton, in 1997, signed legislation that dropped the capital gains tax to 20 percent.

OBAMA: Right.

GIBSON: And George Bush has taken it down to 15 percent.

OBAMA: Right.

GIBSON: And in each instance, when the rate dropped, revenues from the tax increased; the government took in more money. And in the 1980s, when the tax was increased to 28 percent, the revenues went down.

So why raise it at all, especially given the fact that 100 million people in this country own stock and would be affected?

OBAMA: Well, Charlie, what I’ve said is that I would look at raising the capital gains tax for purposes of fairness.

Just what we need in these fragile economic times — a guy who wants to raise taxes because he thinks it’s a matter of “fairness” and time to “spread the wealth around.”

That will be some incentive for other plumbers who want to work hard and build up a successful business.

But don’t worry - according to Joe Biden, it’s the patriotic thing to do.

Haha! I thought I was the only one who thought he looked

then you should be fine

This is yet another fine..
reason to stay out of Wal-Mart. If everyone who is so upset about words would put the same amount of energy into confronting Wal-Mart about all their real sins we would all be a lot better off.
It's fine....
I'm probably still upset about Howard Dean being run out of the race way back when... I'm just sick of the whole scene.
Fine: s/m
Then you can sit down for crumpets and tea with all the madmen who hate America for our freedom.  Keep in mind that unless you believe in this radical Islam (2 more words which the drive-by media has completely eradicated) you (including Obama) are an infidel.  A close friend of my husband (mine, too) is from Iran.  He's as active in conservative politics as many of us are.  Gee, I wonder why...
Fine by me........
As far as I'm concerned, the UN definitely has no credibility and never has. It is a joke of an organization and one the U.S. DOES NOT belong in!!! They wouldn't know credibility if it slapped them in the face let alone credibility of a good woman.
no name is fine and not every uses me and
maybe I've missed something but I've never seen anyone sign their messages I. I could be wrong, but I've never seen it.

The reason is your and my viewpoints differ so much. There are too many people switching names on a daily basis and I prefer to just keep it to me. That way people won't think I've gone off the deep end or taking any drugs when you spew your fabrications about O'No.
If that happens, fine. But at least I will have had NOTHING to do with it...
and I can live with that.
Thanks, she's doing fine
have to wait for bx results.  I think no news is good news.  Appreciate the prayers!
That's fine with me
it's been needing some livening up anyways! :)
Thanks. I will be fine
I could see it coming for the past few months and had cut my hours back. Also, I have always had 1 or 2 other jobs just to protect myself.

I had sent out some resumes over the past few months because I had a bad feeling about the hospital, and actually started a new job the day after I got the bad news. The money is not as good, but it is better than not getting paid at all!
Everything is not fine in our country

... but I will put my flag up on the 4th of July.

I find it so sad that our country is so very divided and the ugliness and meaness has come out of everyone's mouths.

It seems that some of it is the religious versus the nonreligious, the gay and the hetero, our way or no way..

no matter who is president, we are all equal and should all be treated wiht respect.

Peace.

Yes, they are very fine words..
written by some very fine minds. Ghandi says much the same. I think I'll stick with the great minds. Cat bites and scratches dangerous ?...sometimes...people who mistreat animals or wish them harm dangerous ?...always.
Those are really fine words.
However, if the cat is harming human life, and everyone knows how toxic a cat scratch or bite can be, and the owner refuses to maintain her animal, what is the solution?  Maybe a new home.
That's fine if you want to be told
you aren't worthy of an MRI, right? Because it's too expensive?
Oh I don't know, you are doing a heck of a fine job...
passing off insult as intelligence. You have it down to a fine art. Verrryyy impressive. "Certainly the issues seem to be a big taboo." Well I suppose so...since I have asked you a very simple question repeatedly and you can't seem to stop with the insults long enough to answer it....lol.

As to plagiarizing...rather than do that, you just post under different monikers...to support your own argument I guess? Ahem. Ego need a little stroking there?

Hope you find some of that substantive conversation. Heaven only knows who would sit through a 20-minute dissertation hoping that at some time a point would emerge or just one little question would be answered. Good luck!
that's all well and fine, but today's
world never sees any racism as funny, so given the serious nature of this particular board, humor just did not come on the radar.
Sure she was fine with you until she wised up
and brings up talking points that represent concerns of the democratic party. Nothing wrong with considering all sides to a story.
She will handle herself just fine....
better than O, at the very least as well. And she is the #2 person...not the #1. We elect him, we get him day 1, and all the experience (limited though it is) is #2 on your ticket.
