and desiring to bring about real CHANGE from a worn out, tired system of doing things, perhaps implementing changes that could save the economy, save the American people who have been hurt by a President who run the country doing "same ole, same ole," watching us crash and burn for someone else to clean up....yes, how DARE anyone run on that platform. The sky if falling, we are all going to sit here and point fingers and cry about it, do nothing or the same things that got us here in the firt place.....now we are going to put down hope and change as a BAD thing because Obama used the words. I guess we will all do nothing and never hope for better.

Bush was the alpha dog and led his pack over a cliff. For any investors worldwide to have confidence in the U.S. economy, it may be necessary. As much as you do not like dems, the republicans have failed everyone, throughout the world, by their extraordinarily blatant negligence.
We are on a run away train and we have already side swiped a gargantuan number of people/countries. The wreck will hopefully be diverted with a show of what the future holds. Lest, China and Japan stop buying U.S. Treasury bills - and govt paychecks begin bouncing.

You are right though...and Obama is certainly your man. He wants absolutely no roadblocks to abortion. Including the unintended consequences of a baby who manages to surive an abortion attempt. Yep, he's your man, and if you believe in that and him, you SHOULD vote for him. That is what this country is about. And if I don't think he is my man, and I DON'T believe in that or him, I should not vote for him, and I'm not. Doesn't make you a bad person, doesn't make me a bad person.
If you call cutting funding over 200 mill to Planned Parenthood...just how much do you think they should get? They made a profit of $68 mil last year. Why can't we take some of that and redistribute it to girls who decided to keep their babies to help with their expenses? Obama wants to tax oil companies and give that back to people to help with gas...seems only fair to me.

My American Dream went down the toilet
last year when my retirement account was cut in half, and there has not been much work lately for DH or I, so there's no way to offset the loss and no way to put money back into it.
I don't gripe about anyone making money, but...and this is a large but....I believe this was just another piece of campaign propaganda. After all, it came out while he was running for president. What better timing?
Do you think if he wrote the book before running for prez, it would have sold as well?

I have not yet once in a few months now found any of the O worshippers to have a rational connversation. Well some of them I have had a good conversation with, so don't want to lump them all in one group, but for the most part it's like you say....talking to a brick wall. So going to shut down for a few days and will be watching the news about the hearings. I just hope and pray that justice will be served, and I'd like an explanation from the O as to why he commited fraud knowingly and duped half (maybe now less than half because some of them are coming out) the country. Then it will be interesting to see if ol HRC files a lawsuit against him.

As Bank of America acquires Merrill-Lynch (whose CEO has the utter gall to request a $10 million bonus pay-out after the ML sell-out) they are refusing credit to Republic Windows and Doors out of Chicago after receiving $15 billion in TARP funds. The workers are fighting back to recover the pay and benefits they have already earned and their governor is backing them up. Now that's what I'm talkin' about !

Back in Colonial America, there were the Federalists versus the Rebublican-Democrats, which turned into the "party" system we now have (love your comment about "party!"), big business and big money will always be in bed with the politicians, and that will keep propagating and feeding this political mess, but I have to think if the Libertarian or Independent parties were to have a strong enough candidate with a really well-crafted, timely, imperative platform, we could all vote with our pockets, one voter at at time, to strengthen a three or four-party system over time? Am I just wishing and praying, because I am seeing way too much back-scratching payola going on on BOTH SIDES of the aisles in Congress!

I'm hoping that some in Congress and the Senate
don't let him blindly lead them down that road. We have a national security force now, the National Guard, but of course, they're stuck fighting for our country since the draft was banned.
We need to get back to draft registration like it used to be, then our military will be good and the Guard can stay home and protect us like they're supposed to be doing.

Bush tries to save some face --
It looks like our wonderful govt is thinking about another stimulus -- remember those tax rebates we got back in the spring of this year? It was $600 an individual and $1200 a couple. The govt doesn't want to do quite the same kind of stimulus as last time because -- get this -- 80% of the Americans who received it used it to either pay down debt or bolster savings. Here's what they want the new stimulus to do:
•The extension of unemployment benefits and possibly food stamps from 39 to 52 weeks.
•A boost in infrastructure spending, despite the problems of getting the money to work quickly.
•Some relief for state and local governments facing tighter budgets because of lower tax receipts and rising Medicaid costs.
God forbid we give something to the middle class -- let's extend the food stamps and boost the "infrastructure spending" -- what is that anyway? I'm guessing it's a way to line the pockets of the suits even more. When is it going to end?
