problem Obama was, is and will be facing for a long time.

Obama did not make the holes in the ship, somebody else did.

He tries to repair the damage.

Or do you really think that O's conscious intention is to harm America and Americans?

Can you prove that somebody else would have done in these 4 months a better job in repairing America?

Name him and PLEASE NO PROPHECIES !

Well SIGN ME UP cuz my ship is SINKING!!!!

Ya'll complaining about welfare when it only compromises about 12% of your tax dollars being spent - when, I bet dollars to donuts - ya'll get the "earned income credit" which is a kickback on tax returns which amounts to more than you paid.....WELFARE!  Don't cry to me about supporting other people............witless greed all the way down to the bottom of the barrel.

He's abandoning a sinking ship...

McCain sinking
in polls. That's what happens when you still make deals with a a bad guy who had spread rumors about your family in the primaries.
Obama and Biden are sinking themselves....sm
every time they open their mouths lately. They don't need help from anyone else.

Regarding the O, did you know he lied in one of his memoirs? Said he worked for an investment firm (or something like that, my husband told me this story). Said he felt he sold out by going to work, sitting in the corner office, and selling stock (or whatever he said he sold). So he left that job and went out to do community organizing.

Turns out...and this from a guy that worked with him at the time...there was no corner office. No one wore suits, they all wore tee shirts. And they wrote financial ad copy.

Now mind you, this guy that actually worked for him, says he didn't tell the truth here on several levels, about this position and job and all, in his, you know, memoir...but hey, I'm voting for him anyway....

So he lies, I know it, I'm still voting for him.

Go figure....

Our whole country is sinking itself. Greed is

No, sorry, no bravos to someone who does not rescue someone
Did you say Bravo when President Bush gave orders for the professionals to go in and save hostages in Iran, or many other orders President Bush gave to have the professionals save hostages. No, you did not. Sorry you go get to say Bravo to the O when you don't say Bravo to President Bush.

Leave the Bravo and thanks to the real hero's. The one's who saved him.

Can't have it both ways.

Translation == dems (i.e., Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, et al.) are going to try (and probably succeed, buried in deep in the bill) to add at least $50 million more to this bill for their social agenda programs, that we the people are going to foot, yet again.

Imagine that. Nice way to pile on Democrats....nice

Billions More Needed for Rescue?

This is over and above the new so-called stimulus package.

In my local newspaper, it states "More proposals waiting in wings" then it goes on to state "The obama adminstration is developing proposals to help rescue the banking system that could cost taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars beyond the $700 bililion bailout Congress already has approved.

Details are still being worked out but the administration is looking to spend hundreds of billions more to address the foreclosure crisis, help banks get out from under weighty bad assets and expand liquidity programs."

I'm really starting to get sick literally over this. We can't spend billions of dollars when the money isn't coming into the treasury.  We can't printing money without anything to back it up.

If any of you think these packages will not help the economy, please, I'm almost begging you, email or call your reps and get it stopped.

I for one would rather go down with the ship than

Uh-oh. Obama is directy addressing rescue plan for the economy. .

In the absence of a direct response from the bankrupt McCain campaign, dems better take cover and ride out the next avalanche of hate speech that looms on the horizon.

That's right - 'go down with the ship'.
.
One way to sink the ship,

to continue your analogy, is to throw off the skilled crew, the engineers and carpenters to make more room; then pull more and more people onto the ship as it sinks, on the theory that at least they may survive a few moments more and then we can all go down together.  Or maybe a miracle will happen and we'll all get rescued.

To answer the question about who might have done a better job:  Because of the very poor ''reaching across the aisle''  candiate the Republican party put forth - in an attempt to pander to ''moderates'' - I can say only that McCain may have done less actual irreparable harm in the first four months, and probably the rest of his term, than Obama.  The Dems would have fought his every proposal tooth and nail (even stuff they agreed with) just because it was his, and that may have put the brakes on some of this headlong rush into socialism that we see now.

Venezuela will ship 1,000,000 barrels to USA

Venezuela will ship an additional 1,000,000 barrels in the wake of Katrina

Venezuela Embassy, Washington D.C. -- Press Release  -- September 7, 2005: As announced by President Hugo Chavez, the Venezuelan national oil company, Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) will ship approximately one million barrels of PDVSA-produced gasoline this month directly to the United States in the wake of the horrible devastation and destruction caused by Hurricane Katrina.

This volume is in addition to PDVSA’s normal shipments to the United States.

Venezuela is privileged to be able to help the United States in this time of need,” said Venezuela's Ambassador to the United States, Bernardo Alvarez Herrera. “We see ourselves as a compassionate people and hope that our efforts will help cope with current market needs of the U.S. for gasoline, and provide some immediate relief to the victims of this horrific natural disaster.”

Four additional shipments of gasoline, totaling over 960,000 barrels, taken from storage and diverted from other customers, will be sent to and distributed by PDVSA’s wholly-owned US subsidiary, CITGO Petroleum Corp (CITGO) and will supplement PDVSA’s previously scheduled shipments to CITGO in September of 1.2 million barrels of petroleum.

Each of the four additional gasoline shipments will be sent from Venezuela to CITGO during the following time frames:

September 14-16, September 23-25, September 28-30 and September 29-October 1.

With shipping time from Venezuela to the US Gulf Coast only four-five days, these shipments from Venezuela will arrive much more quickly than cargoes from Europe, the Middle East or Asia and, hence, will be able to meet US needs that much sooner.

PDVSA is the fifth largest provider of petroleum products in the world and the third largest provider to the United States. During the last year, Venezuela has occasionally been the largest supplier of oil to the United States, surpassing Saudi Arabia, Canada and Mexico. It exports 95% of its hydrocarbons, 57% of which are earmarked for the United States. PDVSA’s oil refining capacity globally is 3.3 million barrels per day.
