Why Obama's speeches are good
Obama has better speech writers. That's it. While I give Obama credit for giving excellent speeches, you also have to know he does not write them himself. He is an excellent presenter and public speaker. Probably due to his years in law, where you have to be an excellent speaker.

The difference between Obama and Bush (imho) is that Bush is not a good speaker. It's the tone of the voice. Obama has a good strong, deep, calming voice (he'd be great in an emergency situation trying to calm someone down), however, he does not write his own speeches, he just presents them.

Also he depends too much on the teleprompter and not enough time reviewing the speeches before hand. I don't know if he is so busy and has himself spread so thin (what with going on all the TV shows - which by the way is just wrong, do we have a President here or a celebrity making the round on the local TV shows), but he really should spend some quality time reading the speeches. As we saw with the huge error when he was giving a speech and someone put the wrong speech up on the teleprompter and he was reading the other countries leader's speech instead of his own and he didn't even realize it, even when he was praising himself up and down.
You didn't watch Obama's speeches before the
He said "I will close Gitmo". All the O lovers were on here posting how wonderful that was; how glad they were to hear it. And now, you act as if you know nothihng about that? Obama wouldn't do such a thing? All he had to do was say, no, things will go forward, a trial will be had NOW, and there will be no freeze.

He didn't do that! And so it has started..

This post really makes me WANT to vote for Obama. I am undecided, but this pushes me closer to Obama

Obama makes a funny

Said when McCain talks about taking on the Old boys network in Washington, it is called a staff meeting.  He's so clever, and young, and vital.

Shirtless Obama Makes Washingtonian Cover
The May cover of Washingtonian magazine features those paparazzi photos of a shirtless Barack Obama strolling the beach in Hawaii last year. The photo illustrates the magazine's "Reasons We Love Washington," the #2 reason for which is "Our new neighbor is hot."
I am a lifelong Democrat and this makes me happy, I am not voting for Obama sm
I honestly DO NOT care what color his skin is! I also don't really care that Sarah Palin doesn't have a dingle dangle between her legs either. These things do NOT matter.

I would not vote for Obama because as far as I am concerned, he thinks he stands for being a minority. We are headed into another Depression or at least recession. Education in this country is a sick joke. The housing market is crashing. On and on. It is a LOT of gloom and doom and I can't see where Obama stands on ANYTHING. Milquetoast all the way around.

I am not exactly a McCain fan. I met him in 1976, not so very long after he returned from Vietnam. I was a kid and he had a profound impact. I am NOT a Republican, I DO NOT like their platform and I am NOT a conservative...but by golly I will vote for him. I think he can do the job and I think he has ideas. Some of them are wrong to be sure, but he HAS SOME.

As for Sarah Palin, she is not afraid of much I suspect. She wasn't afraid to bring a Down syndrome child into the world and commit to raising him. She had young ones at home, but that didn't stop her going up for office. Fearless and gutsy, brave and standing behind her convictions, such as no abortions...yes I can respect her even if I don't agree with her.

I looked at a picture of her and I saw someone who will likely BE president, and not the VP in the fullness of time. I saw a REAL woman, not a fake, not a politician. Can she be president without making mistakes? No, but no one else can either. She knows what it is to run a household, so yes I think she can run the country. A woman can tell you it is just the same, only bigger and that isn't important to please all the children all the time, but to get the job DONE.
Obama was born in Kenya, which makes him uneligible to be President...nm

Onward Christian Soldiers marching onto war..........................

What I have not done is by his speeches....
and not look into his history. I have looked into McCain's history as well. Because I want to make an informed decision. I don't want to see a socialist America. I want someone in the white house for a CHANGE who is there to serve the people who put him there, not serve his own political ambitions and agenda. Barack Obama is not that man. I cannot ignore he is a socialist. I cannot ignore his church theology of 20 years. I cannot ignore his Chicago connections and Bill Ayers, his wife's thesis and comments...any one of those things alone is not alarming...all those things together tell me I do not want that man in the white house. So you vote for him, and if he is elected, when you are driving around small town PA the sign in my yard will say "Don't blame me, I didn't vote for him." And I'm not. Have a great day!
did you see any of her speeches?
or even any of her "handler controlled" interviews? She's dumber than Bush. I'll take brains over "refreshing" any day to run my country.
Have you listened to their speeches? sm
Because Jr. and Sr. both frequently quote the New World Order.

The NWO is not a conspiracy theory. This stuff was discussed in my family for decades because my grandfather was a high ranking Mason and city councilman. All of them are Masons, and their symbols are everywhere.

This was one of his stronger speeches.
I have great respect for Obama and I hope that his numbers pick up. He has a lot of work to do, but I like what he has to say.

I am a Hillary fan myself and I have to say at this moment if I had to vote tomorrow, I would probably vote for Obama in the primary. Even though I believe in Hillary's ability to lead the country, I think that Bill will be her downfall and I have doubts. Seems that Bill made a better president than a husband. Not sure how much I want him as First Man either. He just can't keep his mouth shut.

I am looking forward to future debates. John Kerry doesn't strike me as having enough passion or backbone to do well, but I like his stance on the environment.

This election is going to be so exciting! Gets me jiggy ~
In several of McCain's speeches, he's said
in the world", and yada yada yada. Yet I didn't hear him once say he was for fining or taxing companies that send American work overseas. If he thinks we're so great, why isn't he planning on doing anything about offshoring?
Spare me the speeches...(sm)

As far as I'm concerned there is no "reward" to be reaped.  There is no he11.  There is no heaven, and there is no god.  I think what ticks you guys off more than anything is the fact that I am actually free to live my life without fear of that dreaded "after life" that you all aspire to.  What will you think when you figure out at the very end that all you did was for nothing and all you could have done was denied?  How will it feel when you realize you have done nothing but waste your life for the sake of a man-made fear-mongering religion?  It must be miserable to be you.

Boy, that never gets old. Never. You should write Osamabama's speeches.

Listen carefully to his speeches, in
by saying "we will change the world" and this is one of the things that puts a knot in my stomach about this man.
O is doing very well with the doom and gloom speeches

He doesn't need the pubs to help him. He's doing it all by himself. This writer can't make  excuses for that so he attacks the pubs with his rhetoric. Another one-sided opinion.

Well good for him. I missed all of his speeches about the hurricaine.
So you say he's been all over the TV before the hurricaine making speeches about it. I'll take your word for it.

Fact still remains he was on vacation, officially or unofficially. But I'd expect you to debate this point down to the end, so enjoy :)
O is "just words, just speeches", little substance.

Makes me wonder...

... if he truly said that or if Bush forced him to say it, so we can show how *honest* we were when we promised we'd leave when the *Iraqis* wanted us out.  The timing of this is just too ironic, considering it's on the heels of Murtha's PLAN involving Iraq.  It seems to be more of a response to an angry America than an actual plan.

It's really sad to be this skeptical, but unfortunately, I can't take anything involving Bush at face value, considering the numbers of lies the world has been fed from this administration.  By extension, I have to be suspect of things said by Iraqui leaders, who may be spoon-fed what they're *allowed* to say in their new *democracy* (promoting, of course, freedom of speech)!

What makes you think we don't have that?
?
Makes me wonder if she/they truly
want a free America, or something else.  Someone else in history also liked to ban books, but we don't want to say his name, or even imagine anything like that could happen to America.  There is a very clear choice between two dynamics. Can't understand why anyone who knows their own mind has a hard time deciding on a candidate this year.
Makes me like him even more! (nm)
:)
This just makes me want to cry.

What has our country become?  I always knew that politicians were crooks, but for them to run our country into the ground just to line their own pockets.....it just absolutely disgusts me.  All these politicians who received significant money from these companies......do you think they will suffer.  No....it will be us who pay for all of this.  Government as a whole has royally screwed us all with this.

This whole bail out thing has me so fuming mad I can't hardly see straight.  I'm terrified that if we don't do it....we will collapse.  I'm terrified that if we do it....it will only slow down but the collapse will still come...only later.  I'm mad that they want to bail them out and screw the rest of us.  I truly hope that there is another solution to this crisis other than a bail out.

I want the phuckers who deliberately screwed us through their own greed....I want them to pay for this.  I want them to be held accountable.  Instead, they lined their pockets, get bailed out, and it is the little people that lose out.

I am sick to death of hearing politicians getting on TV and blaming the other party when they themself received a substantial amount of money from these banks going under that are currently wanting bailed out.  Stop playing the blame game and just come up with a plan that will benefit the tax payers and not just the big wigs who screwed us in the first place!  Stop pointing fingers, grow up, and think of our country and not your own personal bank account.

If I see Obama point his finger at another person again instead of taking a good look in the mirror at himself.....I seriously will scream.  He has received so much money from these people and yet he claims no blame at all.  What an arrogant b@st@rd!!!  What ever happened to taking responsibility for your actions?  I guess that doesn't exist anymore....just blame it on the next sucker.

Actually, makes me wonder what is
camp. He is too organized and sly like a fox, there has to be some meaning to the madness.
Makes you wonder...........sm
just exactly what the Pentagon is expecting. They say timing is everything.
Are you serious? What makes you think
that Republicans are to blame for even this? Come on. It is terrible and I think that something like this cannot be blamed on a political party. It can only be blamed on those who did it. I am a Republican who would not be caught dead at a Black Friday sale. I went to one once and cannot stomach another. Many of my conservative friends and my conservative husband feel the same way.

Makes me think of that old saying...

A government big enough to give you everything you want is strong enough to take everything you have. Sad...

It makes you wonder though

as many countries that have hostages by these pirates....you would think these pirates would be taken out.  I mean...we know where they live, etc.  It seems kind of crazy that a group of somali pirates can terrorize several countries to taking over ships.  Maybe if ship crews were taught how to use guns and each ship was armed heavily and they could blow these pirates out of the water before they even get aboard......

You would just think something would be done about these A--holes.

This makes me crabby.

I believe the biggest problem our world is facing right now is overpopulation.  I would think even the Lord would recognize that. That said, I would also comment that this woman's genitals as well as her husband's are under their own personal control, not the Lord's.

My other thought is that it seems likely that you would ever really really get to know any of your children while they were growing up with that many kids.  My boyfriend is from a family of 8 children and he and his brothers all agree that they were basically raised by their older sisters and had no real quality relationship with their mother until they were much older.  I'm not saying that is automatically the case, but simply often turns out to be the case.

That's probably because this is what makes sense to you.
Perhaps you could be a translator for us?

If one were to measure progress on the number of suiciders, if that's your definition of success, I think it gives -- I think it will -- I think it obscures the steady, incremental march toward democracy we're seeing. In other words, it's very difficult -- you can have the most powerful army of the world -- ask the Israelis what it's like to try to stop suiciders. ...That's the -- but that's one of the main -- that's the main weapon of the enemy, the capacity to destroy innocent life with a suicider. ...Trying to stop suiciders -- which we're doing a pretty good job of on occasion -- is difficult to do. And what the Iraqis are going to have to eventually do is convince those who are conducting suiciders who are not inspired by al Qaeda, for example, to realize there's a peaceful tomorrow.
