I fear this is just the proverbial tip of that immensely deep iceberg.
Is there no end to the felonius character of that man we used to call President of the United States?  Talk about Big Brother!!!  And to think those commenting on you earlier posting were paranoid about "Government" being involved in everything!  Kind of ironic!
I actually dislike him because we have...
a fundamental difference in views. I actually find it interesting that the same people who spend years bashing Bush all of he sudden believe that nobody should EVER say one thing negative regarding Obama. the facts are that, so far, he has done exactly what I feared he would do. As far as the captain's rescue, do I really believe that it was Obama's plan carried out--come on, that is just silly. The Navy took care of that. Credit to the CNO, possibly, but Obama, no.
This is what I dislike about Bush.

His arrogance.

He's a man who knows America does not support his policies and he still flicks us off, even his those within his party who disagree.  *It comes with the territory,* he says still wearing that ridiculous smile.  Now that the unpatriotic threats are not as potent as they used to be, all he can do to save what face he has with the 32% who still think he's doing a good job is say that he is steadfast in his beliefs.  That'll make the 32% proud, but what does it mean.

Would you rather have a president who

a) Is intelligent enough to reevaluate the situation he has created and think maybe, just maybe I screwed up and is willing to consider other solutions, change the course?

OR

b) One who is willing to stay the course, even if it is a course of failure.  Just for the sake of doing what he said he was going to do and a *to hell with what Americans think about me* attitude.  Can not be convinced in any shape, form or fashion that he has made a mess and may need to go on to plan B, probably because he doesn't have a plan B?

Which one?

Oh, and to the 68% who don't approve, in laymen's terms I think he's saying *screw you,* but that's just my interpretation.

I reall dislike this: When somebody is cornered,
and runs out of counter attacks, then the discussion derails and the insults start, like

Grow up!
Get a life!
Don't you have nothing better to do?
Educate yourself!
Brush up your computer skills!
Shut up!

Etc....

I stay on this board because sometimes one can really broaden one's knowledge, one gets good tips and hints, it's educational (in some way), it's entertaining, so, all in all, a good thing, especially if one is on vacation, like I now.

I did change the channel -seeing the dislike
on all the channels except on the Communist News Network who's too busy commenting on what M.O. is wearing, and I turned MSLSD off totally along time ago when they were only showing the love affair many Americans have with him. No news found there.

You should go to the other channels and you too would see the people of other countries telling of their dislike for the annointed one.
I guess you dislike intelligent answers
Sam has some of the most intelligent, rational, thought-out answers I've seen on this board - unlike those who just want to post how this one is a joke or this other one is a jerk. Or the ones who immediately resort to name-calling and cursing.
This is not an option anymore
I've been listening to the news people talking and this is not an option anymore. Barack is being polite about this, but I see no way for them to run together. Her time has passed. He is now looking at other very qualified people to be VP. One is a woman and one is even a republican. A lot of people think that it will be so easy to win over republicans this fall, but if McCain is running against Hillary he for sure will win as there is too much negativity about Hillary. I cannot stand McCain, but I for one would vote for him over Hillary. First I would change my party to independent, and then I would vote for McCain. People are saying there are three parties running here. The republicans, the democrats and the Clintons. The Clintons have put themselves into their own party. Although a vote for Clinton and a vote for McCain are virtually the same thing. She used to be a republican before she switched to democrat years ago, and her voting record is quite conservative. I for one am glad that Obama is looking at other people for VP slot and his list is pretty impressive. The candidates all seem to be very good choices and I hear many people really respect these people. There are even a lot of republicans who do not want McCain in there, however, they want Hillary even less. I believe that if Obama is the nominee he will win as a lot of republicans will back him, but if Hillary is in there McCain will win as she and Bill have so much bad history attached to them. The only people who are now pushing for an Obama/Hillary ticket are the Hillary supporters as they are trying anything and everything to get her in there, but none of the talk of them running together is coming from Obama's side. Makes you kind of think about that.
On another note it seems as if every state she wins she tries to convince people that if you don't win that state you will not win in November. Funny how these states never include the ones she lost in. You don't hear her saying that about Iowa or Minnesota. We sit and laugh and say nice try Hillary. Then we listen to the news and they say the same thing.
Thank God Hillary is not an option
Don't you realize she is the Co-chair of the Senate India Caucus. She is one of the people pushing for our jobs to go overseas. She will not protect our jobs. She was also in favor of NAFTA. Sorry, I want my job. So Thank God she is not one of the choices. With that said...I am protesting both McCain and Obama - I am not voting. Besides doesn't anyone understand whoever is chosen as President will not be the people's choice. Presidents are placed into office, not elected.
you have the option of choosing it too -
anybody can choose it - not just people who do not have access to insurance.
Change is our only option
I'm not debating that. What I'm debating is the idea that passing the same kind of garbage through for the taxpayers to pay for isn't change. And I don't blame Obama for that - I blame the loons in Congress for that, especially when I hear them say things like "The American people don't care."

I know there's a channel for everyone's taste and I know it's not news either - they're all opinion shows.

I'm not trying to garner support for anything or promoting any kind of fear. I see too many people just get so nasty on this board to people who are only giving their opinion. If you don't agree with me, that's fine - tell me why you don't agree instead of personally attacking me. Maybe you know something I don't that would change my mind on something - I can guarantee you won't change my mind with nasty comments.

Maybe you didn't go to Harvard (I didn't either), but that doesn't mean that we're not intelligent people and can't debate things that are important in this world. Don't believe everything you hear or that you read - that's why debate is a good thing and I'd honestly like to hear your thoughts on why this stimulus package is such a great idea - without the suicide pact, thank you =)
Correct. You have the homeschool option.
Otherwise, leave public SECULAR schools alone. Teach your children what you wish to teach them. If they don't learn from you better than from society at large, you're not doing your job. Besides, right now it's all the rest of us who are being slammed by religious absurdities forcing themselves into the classroom - book bannings, stupid ineffective (and often based on lies) sex education, stupid activist school board members who have no respect for learning and only want to teach Christian fundamentalist ideology - forget it! America's schools were fully adequate until this religious nonsense began to grow like a cancer, disrupting discussion and making everyone fearful of crossing their eyes and always looking over their shoulders for the pious thought police.
It's a terrible situation that is exacerbated further by the religious nannies aligning themselves with the current government so that no student is free to question, or speak their mind, or explore the way other societies do things. A pox on your quest for freedom - if the only thing that satisfies you is stealing freedom from everyone else, what good are you? What kind of religion is that which puts a yoke of oppression on young people, twists their minds and emphasizes the evil all around them? It's sick.

I don't care what you say, schools were better when people could read what they wanted, when discussion could be heard, when no one group of parents could demand changes for everyone, when respect for others and appreciation for diversity was taught - as well as practical and truthful sex ed. We didn't take God out of the schools - we took civic responsibility out. We took tolerance out. We took the feeling of being one important part of a global community out. All that horrible liberal stuff you know, that elevated America to the highest standards and made us the envy of the world for so many decades. That's what you complain about being stuffed down your throat? Well maybe you should be glad that in America, you still have the choice to opt out if you hate all that secular stuff. Too bad you're so fixed on making certain that NOBODY ELSE has that freedom anymore once you get done with them.

No one would listen and he is not an option anymore sm
I started preparing and investing in sound money 2 years ago because of him. My silver may end up being worth $200 an ounce and all the Federal Reserve Notes will be worth the same as Monopoly money. We all knew this was coming and it is going to get worse. Note the date:

Congressman Ron Paul
U.S. House of Representatives
July 16, 2002

Mr. Speaker, I rise to introduce the Free Housing Market Enhancement Act. This legislation restores a free market in housing by repealing special privileges for housing-related government sponsored enterprises (GSEs). These entities are the Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie), the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie), and the National Home Loan Bank Board (HLBB). According to the Congressional Budget Office, the housing-related GSEs received $13.6 billion worth of indirect federal subsidies in fiscal year 2000 alone.

One of the major government privileges granted these GSEs is a line of credit to the United States Treasury. According to some estimates, the line of credit may be worth over $2 billion. This explicit promise by the Treasury to bail out these GSEs in times of economic difficulty helps them attract investors who are willing to settle for lower yields than they would demand in the absence of the subsidy. Thus, the line of credit distorts the allocation of capital. More importantly, the line of credit is a promise on behalf of the government to engage in a massive unconstitutional and immoral income transfer from working Americans to holders of GSE debt.

The Free Housing Market Enhancement Act also repeals the explicit grant of legal authority given to the Federal Reserve to purchase the debt of housing-related GSEs. GSEs are the only institutions besides the United States Treasury granted explicit statutory authority to monetize their debt through the Federal Reserve. This provision gives the GSEs a source of liquidity unavailable to their competitors.

Ironically, by transferring the risk of a widespread mortgage default, the government increases the likelihood of a painful crash in the housing market. This is because the special privileges of Fannie, Freddie, and HLBB have distorted the housing market by allowing them to attract capital they could not attract under pure market conditions. As a result, capital is diverted from its most productive use into housing. This reduces the efficacy of the entire market and thus reduces the standard of living of all Americans.

However, despite the long-term damage to the economy inflicted by the government’s interference in the housing market, the government’s policies of diverting capital to other uses creates a short-term boom in housing. Like all artificially-created bubbles, the boom in housing prices cannot last forever. When housing prices fall, homeowners will experience difficulty as their equity is wiped out. Furthermore, the holders of the mortgage debt will also have a loss. These losses will be greater than they would have otherwise been had government policy not actively encouraged over-investment in housing.

Perhaps the Federal Reserve can stave off the day of reckoning by purchasing GSE debt and pumping liquidity into the housing market, but this cannot hold off the inevitable drop in the housing market forever. In fact, postponing the necessary but painful market corrections will only deepen the inevitable fall. The more people invested in the market, the greater the effects across the economy when the bubble bursts.

No less an authority than Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan has expressed concern that government subsidies provided to the GSEs make investors underestimate the risk of investing in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Mr. Speaker, it is time for Congress to act to remove taxpayer support from the housing GSEs before the bubble bursts and taxpayers are once again forced to bail out investors misled by foolish government interference in the market. I therefore hope my colleagues will stand up for American taxpayers and investors by cosponsoring the Free Housing Market Enhancement Act.
No Bush and No McCain. If Hilary is not an option
my vote will go to Ralph Nader. I cannot in good faith vote for any republican or democrat with the state of the nation today.  Gas prices, offshoring, etc. It is time we show Washington we are not interested in business as usual. Our country is going down the toilet and yet we continue to vote for the same old, same old. I called my DSL provider for tech support last week and spoke to....AN INDIAN! Same with my mother's DSL provider (2 different companies), yet tech support calls are going to India! No more republican! No more democrat! I QUIT!
It is obvious

It is obvious this poster is a conservative coming over to the liberal board to try to start some trouble. Fortunately, liberals know to let people speak their minds, think out things and speak them.  Unfortunately conservatives like to squash that, everyone should think like them and god forbid, if they dont, they will be eliminated.  I ask, who posted this against a liberal poster who was speaking his/her mind?  Come forward and state who you are and defend your actions of reporting the liberal poster to the administration..Come on out and tell the liberal board who you are and why you did this.

Oh gee, it was so obvious....
When asked the question about who he thinks will win the presidency, he couldn't answer without pausing. It was so obvious he doesn't want Obama to win but, of course, saying that would go against his party lines so he and Hillary just sit and wait until 2012, hoping for the next chance.

This lady does not want to play second fiddle to Obama.

Bill says he is working with many organizations that help around the world and listed several of them.
Yes, it would seem obvious, but....
the devotion of his followers is almost cult-like. And they absolutely cannot understand anyone who doesn't adore him. Sigh.
Well isn't it obvious?

People in the armed forces are generally conservative people and would likely vote McCain.  So of course this hasn't been fixed because they don't want McCain voters to vote.  Homeless people living on park benches, however, would only have to hear about Obama spreading the wealth and they would be on board for Barrack Obama therefore giving him more votes.  You do the math.

I am totally disgusted by the corruption in this election.  The voter registration fraud as well as the voter fraud that has happened is just plain wrong.  Letting homeless people with no address vote is just opening up a chance for more voter fraud.  Taking away the right of our armed forces to vote because of a glitch is just wrong. They are fighting and risking their lives and we can't even do right by them when it comes to making THEIR vote count.  Of all people in this country, don't you think they have the most right to vote.  They are the ones fighting for us while we sit here and complain about everything from the safety of our computers.

That is quite obvious from all your
FOX IS BETTER!! Check the real ratings, not the ones they lie about on MSNBC! And, it is fair and balanced.
it is so obvious...
from all of your posts that you are quite convinced no one else knows anything. just following this thread demonstrates it. Face it, some people think differently than you do. Geez, it is possible they could even be right? someone who sees things differently than you could be right?? So you just keep typing away and thinking that you know more than those members of the military actually serving who think differently than you do. The only ones that you even consider are the ones who think like you. Whatever. Your over-rated opinion of yourself does not merit further comment.
It's also obvious that...(sm)

you have nothing constructive to say (from either side), rather you just look for opportunities to take a jab at someone with a different opinion.  If you were actually following this thread (which I seriously doubt), you would know that this is about the amount and content of news allowed for soldiers at war.  It has nothing to do with me being smarter than them, it has to do with availability of information.

Considering your obvious impressive disinterest in the subject being discussed, might I suggest you start your own post on a subject that interests you and call it *I don't like people who disagree with me.*

It is very obvious, you go where ever
source supporting your views; especially those who support your views and who have nothing good to say about our great U.S.A.!
The obvious is always ignored ..........
nm
Well, I do think that about JBB....that has been obvious

She's only saying what is very obvious from your posts!

It was obvious you were speaking for
.
The obvious response would be
if it bothers you so much, why do you watch it?  I assume you possess free will.   No big bad mean Republican has super-glued your dial to Fox News, I am assuming?
Sorry, it's obvious I am bumfoozled. sm

I already explained it so sorry for the mistake.

your point is obvious

What is not so obvious is how you keep that funny little hat perched atop it . . .

Oh but it is so obvious how much you do care!
You post about it repeatedly, you taunt, you deny, then you rehash the whole thing again and then you end by more taunting.  This applies not only to your moniker-obsessing but your posting style in general.  You might try reading and thinking about what you post some time.  You come across as very un-genuine and in deep deep denial about your own behavior.  I am sure this is not the first time you have heard this comment, either, This could explain why you resort to mocking people on an anonymous board in addition to why you have so very much time to spend on a computer.
An obvious question would be...
why would anyone wait until you are sick to get insurance? That is like trying to get flood insurance when they have 2 feet of water in their house. I don't think anyone should expect an insurance company to insure them in either case. If an insurance company was forced to insure a person who waited until they were sick to get insurance, who had not paid one premium prior to that...how unfair is that to the people who have paid premiums into that company for years and had not had a claim, their premiums would go to take care of a person who never sought insurance until they were sick. Plus, if insurance companies were forced to do that...within a month several thousand people who had insurance would stop paying insurance premiums and not try to get insurance back until they got sick. No premiums, no money to pay out, insurance company goes belly up and no one has insurance. I am not sure exactly where you are going with this...maybe I am misunderstanding?
It was NOT obvious it was a joke -
This is what McCain is about. He obviously wants to wipe out other nations. He's been heard singing about it. This is not "amusing", this is not "cute", this is not "a joke", and this is certainly not "Statesmanlike". As for Michelle's comment. If Obama had said it, yes I would say go after him. But she is not running for President, and when it comes to this people always say leave Cindy McCain alone even though she's said and done some whoppers in the past. We all know what Michelle meant and I feel bad she added the word "first" in there. This is called a mistake. Everyone makes them. This was not a serious mistake. I'll tell you though...there is not a lot to be proud of. Bush's, Clinton's, slimy politicians and lawyers and corporate executives destroying hard working Americans lives. Nobody caring about people losing their homes, gas prices rising, gouging of other costs. Executives being dismissed from jobs but receiving multi million dollar settlements, while the workers lose their jobs with nothing. You tell me what is there to be proud of. We've still got a long way to go in race relations as unfortunately there are still a lot of biggots in this country who believe because of the color of his skin he should not be president. But to harp on this issue because Michelle said the word "first". Everyone knows what she meant (even Mrs. Bush made a statement in that regard). As for Barack sitting down with our enemies - you better count on it if we ever plan to get along with other countries. You HAVE to sit with your enemies and work out a strategy to live on the earth together in peace (even Kennedy, Carter, and Reagan have all said that). Not coward and hide in a corner like McCain would (oh no, that's right - he'd obliterate them). Let the Michelle comment rest and focus on what the candidates are saying (or not saying) and doing. Look at their records. Leave Cindy M and Michelle O out of it.

nm
My goodness, it's so obvious
that you have blinders on!  Wake up!
It's obvious why this poster seems to think
government interference in our lives is okay. If she THINKS she falls below the Obama mandate (socialism), she feels secure in thinking it won't be her skin, so she doesn't care. Like so many. They are so sucked in to believing that all these social programs are someone gonna be FREE FOR ALL that she won't be paying any more taxes. Oh, how the ignorant will fall. Shows the true colors of her loyalty or lack thereof for her country. Too bad she isn't grateful she lives in a free society where she is at least free to keep more of her money than in other country and be free to sit her and yammer on ignorantly.

Oh, I'm SURE you do. Patently obvious. nm
nm
don't know, don't care, but it is obvious
x
Yes, that is patently obvious. nm
nm
also, quite obvious she is setting herself up for it - nm

It should be pretty obvious

I really think all of these "bail-outs" were actually a long time in the planning and went off according to schedule.  The way the Wall Street bail out was handled, just give them the cash, no oversight, a 2 page application, etc. tells it's own story.  The salaries and bonuses given to the CEOs is nothing short of disgusting.  Yet people have the unmitigated gall to whine because union workers earn a decent living.  Working class people should be squarely behind the UAW workers and AGAINST the CEOs who are begging for our money while flying to the begging table in their private jets.  Heck most of us when we fly have to take coach class.  First class is reserved for the like of the Victoria Olsteens.  At least they aren't rich enough YET to afford their private jet.

Your husband may as well go on down to Washington and ask for a handout but I doubt he'll get it.....now if the real estate commission in your state went, they MIGHT get a bail out that wouldn't even trickle down to your husband.  Bush and Cheney care not one iota for common people.....witness their "so what?" and "so?"  Now that their days are numbered they can say what they want and still there are those on this board who can't see them for what they are.  CROOKS!!!!!

Let's ignore the obvious here...(sm)

It's not like he couldn't watch it later....How many times did Fox run the full speech yesterday?  Then there's always the option of taping it and watching it later.  Or maybe it was simply more important to him to have dinner with his wife than to watch the constant dribble of lies that has now become the hallmark of Bush.  Do you think Bush is going to stay glued to the festivities of the inauguration?

Don't you think this is just a bit petty?

Stating the obvious
resemble a personal attack. You have clearly defined yourself here. All I did was to tell it like it is.
Thank you sbMT for this...but it is obvious no one...sm
pays any attention to any of this anymore.  I think the true history regarding the founding of our country has been watered down and taken completely out of the history books in school.
It was just an obvious observation.....
nm
Over your head, huh? Obvious that you DID
nm
Yeah she does. It's obvious she was wrong. sm
The best thing she could have done was apologize in the beginning. I agree with those who say she is not doing blacks any good by playing the race card in this incident, and she definitely is denigrating the racial profiling argument.
You love to lecture, it is obvious...
but you need, again, to heed your own advice...and educate yourself. You have blinders on. It is people like you socialists love...you will follow them right down the path to destruction and once there, can't imagine how you got there.

When you talk about the government providing education, health care...where do you think that money comes from? The government has no money of its own. You are talking about we, the taxpayers. You hawked Canada's health care below...many Canadian citizens pay 50% of their salary in taxes to pay for the health care system. Does that sound free to you? And the waiting for care boggles the mind. That is why they come HERE when they need emergent care. And you hawked France...read UP on ALL of that, not just the rosy picture. Look at the deficit they are running. Now they are talking about raising taxes or cutting benefits. Really study the Canadian program...they have already started cutting.

Why on earth do you think that a physician should not want to make a PROFIT? They should work for nothing? Are you willing to work for NOTHING? Well, that was silly. If you are a true socialist, of course you do. You work, give everything to the government, and let them redistribute it. NO THANKS.
so just because I notice an obvious oddity sm

You ASSUME I am a republican?  I am simply stating that I saw it on something and suddenly made that connection.  Further reading online there are many others - dems and reps - that have made that same conclusion - it's weird.

Don't read anything else into it and it sounds to me like you think you know where I stand, but you don't know anything about me, so keep your "labels" to yourself.  I could make a deduction about who you are voting for, but I won't ASSUME anything.  After all, I don't know you.

With your stellar credentials and your obvious ego ...
that wouldn't fit in the superdome...you should have no trouble finding a spot. Answer: I type a whole lost faster than you do.
It's painfully obvious she has a set of standards for herself
Don't waste your breath. People that closed minded are typically beyond enlightenment.
Obvious the same ignorant person who

can't spell McCain correctly also can't spell chele correctly to actually make it look like she just posted that.  How mature some of us are.
