The same comment could have been applied to Reagan, Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, and FDR, and to a lesser extent to GW Bush. Looking at the election from a cult following is looking at the candidate's supporters, and not looking at the candidate, his qualifications and plans.

it is black liberation theology basically...and is segregationist. When whites preached segregation, it was called racist. That is exactly what Michelle Obama is doing. That blacks should separate themselves from whites so as not to be "assimilated." So much for no black america, no white america, just america....she does not believe that, and I don't believe he does either. All his career, his associations, etc., do not support that he does.
After you read the thesis, you understand that she meant exactly what she said when she said for the first time in her adult life she was proud of her country.
Obviously they share this separation view and that is why they gravitated to the people they gravitated to, and to Wright's church.
And no, Obama's campaign did not release it. Princeton University did, because of the Freedom of Information Act, and she signed at the beginning of the thesis that Princeton could release it (back when she wrote it..of course, at that time had no idea she would be wife of man running for Pres of US).
I was not going to vote for Obama anyway, and this certainly moved me more solidly toward McCain.

now try to understand my belief. I feel that my God is a powerful and just God. I also believe that He gave His children free will, and I believe that all of us will answer to Him one day for all our choices, whatever they may be. Please understand...I do believe that those aborted babies are with God now. No doubt about it. Straight shot to his side, as they are the most innocent among us. But you cannot make me believe that a just and loving God would agree with this heinous, horrible procedure, to the tune of 1.2 million every year! I'm sorry...I just don't believe that.
And I'm sorry...I don't think murder is between God and the person. An unborn child has a soul...just like a child who has been born. What about someone who murders a child outside the womb? Is that between the murderer and the creator? What about when a pedophile hurts and then murders a child? That is between the pedophile and his creator? I am not saying that to be mean or confrontational. I am trying to understand.
My God, I believe, loves all children, and yes, children who die violently go right to His side, yes, I believe that. What I do not believe is that it was His will that they die violently. You have your belief, and I have mine. Can't be just allow each other to have our beliefs? Can't I be allowed to follow MY belief of MY God, which tells me that someone needs to speak for these children?

I keep posting there are bad and good on both sides. Neither side is perfect. There are a lot of democrats I agree with and I think they are right on (Kucinich, Richardson, and others in the senate). Actually there are more democrats I agree with than I would rather admit to. HA HA, but there are some I absolutely do not agree with (Pelosi, Reid, Clinton and others). On the other side there are some republicans I agree with (Ron Paul and others, can't think of any others right now just cos I'm so tired) and those that I think really stink (Bush at the top of them), but unless we get on this board praising Obama and every single democrat and cut down and destroy every republican, we will get bashed over and over. I have said many times there are good and bad on both sides and if people are going to follow the group think and not think for themselves, well that's when they lose a part of their sense. My mom is a great one. I don't know how many arguments I will have with her. She hates Bush so much with such a vengence she has come right out and said what she want to happen. "He's a liar, he's this, I don't have any money because of Bush, etc, etc. But the minute I say to her If you want to talk about liars lets hit on Clinton, or lets talk about what Obama said. Ohhhh no, can't do that. I was also told by her "If you know what is good for you, you'll stop saying those bad things about him". I asked her what exactly does that mean and she said I just better watch it. Then I said to her, well how can you say what you say about Bush but I tell you I disagree about something Obama said and your ready to report me to the authorities. Funny how someone mysteriously happened to be knocking on her door at that moment and she had to leave (btw, I didn't hear anything in the background and her phone is in the halway near her front door). So unless people will admit when they are wrong there will always be arguments.

First of all, real history is not taught in college either.... unless you are soooo lucky as to get a professor who actually LOVES history and really DID his/her homework.
My son is a history/political major and LOVES history... and I can assure you, he would put history teachers to shame in what they "think" they know.... the crap the government puts in their history books is all they are ALLOWED to teach in our public "government ran" schools!

I refuse to discuss
religion with Moonies or Scientologists. There is just no common ground. The same way as I refuse to discuss politics with people who actually consider Fox a news station. I can give you confession after confession of Muslims who have denounced those teachings once they were free from that country. He has yet to prove citizenship.... and for those that say he IS a citizen, even if he were born in Hawaii, his stepfather (who is Muslim) adopted him in Indonesia. Once he was adopted by his stepfather, his stepfather renounced Obama's U.S. citizenship. The United States does NOT recognize dual citizenship with Indonesia....never has in the past either. Indonesia does NOT recognize dual citizenship, so Obama cannot have dual citizenship. The only way to reclaim his U.S. citizenship is to go through the Immigration Dept just like anyone else, fill out the necessary paperwork, and wait for his hearing. He has no paperwork to prove that either. He knows he does not. If he did, all he would have to do is show his immigration papers but he can't because he doesn't have them.
You can only have dual citizenship with a country that allows that. Obama's stepfather renounced Obama's U.S. citizenship and claimed him Muslim, as was his father. His stepsister even says he is Muslim through and through....
Now, that being said, supposedly Indonesia had tried to begin a new dual nationality law as of ག or so, but Obama hasn't filled out any paperwork for that as an Indonesian either. As of གྷ the new law in Indonesia had not even been implemented. There is a lot of red tape and still many who object to dual nationality allowances.
Our law says in order to be a "natural born citizen"..
The U.S. Law in effect during Obama's birth stated if you are born abroad to one U.S. parent and a foreign national, the U.S. parent must have resided in the United States for ten (10) years, five (5) of which were after the age of Fourteen (14) in order to register the child's birth abroad in the United States as a "natural born" U.S. citizen.
Either way.....he AIN'T a citizen of this country....

What Conyers is doing is playing by the rules. This is a HJC hearing, not a congressional hearing. There have been a number of ridiculous restrictions on what they can or cannot say imposed on this process. For example, they are not allowed to utter the word "impeachment" and Bush's name in the same sentence. Absurd. In spite of all the obstacles, he opened the hearings and has vowed to see it through and to bring the truth into the public discourse once the investigation is concluded. He is quite aware of the fact that he is putting his reputation as a senior member of Congress on the line, so it would make sense that what goes on there is compelling. He is doing nothing to distract or circle around THE ISSUES. He is moving the process along. He is chairing the committee. All the details of the restrictions, who put them there and why, Conyer's position, etctera, can be found in the numerous links that have been provided and is well summarized in DK's interview.
The difference between him and you? Are you serious? He is familiar with every single player, position, stance, viewpoint, piece of evidence and rebuttal. He is a fact checker. He is not considering this evidence on the basis of hearsay. He is evaluating the integrity of the proof as it is presented. You, on the other hand, say you know all you need to know because you have "heard it from other democrats." In other words, you are not willing to even listen to the prosecution case or its evidence as it is presented directly from the source. Instead you talk all around what is really taking place inside those chambers. You are still doing it, trying to twist this into something it most definitely is not. Here's the deal. When you can't win on the issues, out comes the smear and smut.
No one said anything about your having made anything up about Niger. No matter how hard you try, you cannot make this about that one single subject. There are literally scores of talking points and hundreds of pieces of evidence to sift through. You are not the least bit interested in any evidence. If you were, you would watch the interview and post you rebuttals. You're not doing that. You are obsfuscating. It's what you do. What possible difference could it make in terms of valid claims and conclusive evidence whether this process occurs in formal or informal impeachment hearings? Truth is truth. Proof is proof.
You are not interested in hearing from all the witnesses or seeing all the proof. Exactly the opposite. You want to see no witnesses and no proof, unless of course it backs your own contentions. Stop trying to imply that the process is rigged. In the post 9/11 politics of fear world, the republicans would classify the White House address, if they could get away with it. Preponderance of the evidence usually is all that is required to achieve majority vote. If that evidence is incomplete, you have the republicans to thank for that. Do you really think that all that info held in secret is vital to national security? The only thing it is vital to is covering the neoCONS behinds.
You doest protest too much. More obstacles. Be honest. This is not about you want this and you want that. It's what you DON'T want that is plain to see. You really think that lying about an affair is a more serious impeachable offense than misleading an entire nation on the reasons for going to war? One thing is for sure here. As long as you continue to refuse to view the process as it is happening, instead of what you speculate about what may or may not be going on, you really do not have any way to justify anything you are saying about it. You say you have heard what DK has said. Okay. Did you watch the interview? What was in it? You must have skipped over the stuff about the live blogging from inside the chambers. I think a lot of people miss the point of Gitmo. In my opinion, Gitmos is nothing more than a tool to play on American fears (meanwhile sacrificing all US credibility). From your statement, I think it would be safe to say that it seems to have been effective on a few.

One thing I learned a long time ago on this board is that we can not change the conservatives and they are not going to change us, so I think the separate boards is a good thing, so I do try to stay off their board but sometimes it is tempting to respond to them when they are bashing us over there.
But, in politics there are going to be trolls, there are going to be people who don't want to do anything but argue and incite, so just stand your ground and figure out which ones are here to debate (in rare form) and don't take the other ones serious at all.
